    Oxtail/ Fried chicken combo
    Carla H.

Great place for a Caribbean/Jamaican meal and vibe. There is ample parking as it's in a shopping strip. The entryway is nicely decorated and good for a lot of photo ops. I love how clean the place was and the music was popping not too loud or vulgar, just right. The host at the desk was pleasant and allowed us to seat ourselves as she brought our utensils over along with our menus. The meals are reasonably priced esp for the combos and I love that they also have Jamaican bottled sodas. I always have to try the curry goat when I go to Jamaican restaurants. It was nicely seasoned, my only thing is it could have been cooked a little longer but flavor was on point, great amount of spice. The fry chicken also (the thigh) wasn't quite done on the inside near the bones, but the flavor also was delicious. The oxtails were done nicely and the rice and peas was authentic and tasted so good. We also got some beef patties, those were soooo good we had to order a few to go. I suggest yall give them a try, they also do lunch specials and weekend events. Will be trying out their Sunday brunch one weekend.

Either me or the Mister are always looking for a good Jamaican restaurant in our area and he decided to give this place a try...walked in and was greeted by a young lady...it was a couple of ppl in the place probably because it was close to closing time we got there about 8 pm...the decor was very cute the music was playing...apparently the young lady..I didn't catch her name...was working the front by herself...so she had to take a phone order before she got to us...which we didn't mind because we weren't staying...so my husband who is Jamaican ordered our food ..he ordered the jerk chicken and oxtail combo and I ordered the curried goat...we sat for a while until our food was ready and we left...the food was smelling really good on the way home Got home and opened the boxes and when I tell you it was plenty of food..enough to I know I won't finish the food...on the other hand my husband always make a happy plate...the food was good and spicy but not spicy to were I couldn't eat it...so it definitely had a kick...but it was definitely good the only thing is that the plantains were fried too hard but other than that it was good I would go back and try something else..I would like to try the beef patties and coco bread. Overall it was good and plenty

Generous portions.. I ordered the Brown stewed chicken with white rice and extra gravy. It came out hot. The taste was pretty good a little sweeter than I'd prefer but not bad. The cabbage was delicious! I also ordered a beef meat pie which was just ok...my wait time was under 10 minutes to go

Ok theUpdate: callaloo was fair wish my order had more callaloo as paid ordered. So if you like callaloo I would recommend but make sure you say I want majority callaloo if you decide to opt out what ever comes on the plate originally. Will I return maybe just for a straight up callaloo full plate. Still looking for the rest of my greens.:/ so ima leave it at 2stars for the heavy cabbage assault on a saltfiish&callaloo plate.

I ordered the salmon fried rice, oxtails and the jerk chicken egg rolls. My husband ordered the curry goat with rice and peas. We both shared some candied yams and a side of plantain. We ordered a variety to get a good feel. Turns out we were both satisfied with everything. The food is tasty and well seasoned. If you're looking for a place to kick it with some friends this is a cool weekend spot. There's a DJ that plays on certain nights, the drinks are decent, the lively atmosphere keeps you engaged and entertained. One thing to know, you can't call in your order nor place it online which is very inconvenient. You have to go in, so be prepared to wait a while for your order.

Between the two of us, we tried the jerk chicken eggrolls, beef patty, oxtail plate (rice and peas + mac & cheese), jerk lamb chops + mac & cheese. Everything was flavorful & close to authentic as possible ! We sat inside but the patio seems like a great option right now before it gets too hot. Even then, the patio is well equipped with fans to help cool you down. It seems like a hot spot especially for brunch or Sunday funday so I'll be back!

I asked for a chicken roti, they were out, and out of any roti for that matter. My husband wanted curry goat, they were out of goat. I ended up getting a beef patty and jerk wings which were too tough, I could hardly chew them. I also ordered some Collard greens which were just okay. I overheard a phone order that they were processing where the person asked for red snapper fish, they were out of that. The only fish they had available was salmon. But if you take a look at their extensive menu you would see they offer many different types of fish. And lastly, we arrived at the rice and peas (which my husband calls them being stingy on the serving size). The amount of rice given is the smallest serving size of rice and peas I've ever seen served in a Caribbean restaurant. It's not nearly enough to go alongside the rest of the food. Be prepared if you order to go, you'll probably need to order a side of rice in addition to what they give you. The service is good, it's always good, they are friendly and helpful, but it doesn't make up for what they lack in food.

Thank god we found this!…read more After finishing our lunch at Wrap & Roll, we saw this out of the corner of the eye and decided to stop here as the girlfriend was looking for some caribbean snacks. Being from St Croix island in the Virgin Islands, seeing the menu and taking in the smells of this place gave her memories of back home. Of course I was happy to indulge her request as it gave me an opportunity to try some handheld eats. First the beef pattie, pretty big and so savory with the meat melting in your mouth and the dough having a nice texture and crust. And then the saheena; OMG! It was my first time having this lovely pastry which is made of chickpeas, spinach, and caribbean spices. You'll be hooked on this after one bite. Texture was similar to a savory piece of cornbread. Of course I was very happy with this item. The girlfriend ordered a currant roll which had some sweetness to it with a flaky crust. I enjoyed it but not as much as I was scarfing down my beef pattie and saheena. They also serve traditional caribbean eats including jerk chicken, oxtails, bake & saltfish, and roti wraps. We noticed a lot of people place to go orders here and call ahead for pick up. There were several bags of eats waiting as we witnessed people roll in and pick them up while having small talk with the owners. All those items looked delicious and we plan to come back and try those out. We also talked to the owners for a bit, they're a husband/wife team who've owned/operated this place for a while. Super polite and gracious, they helped me navigate the menu and explained what the items would be like when I ordered. Sadly I could not get the Aloo Pie (sold out) but they assured me it's worth having and to come back and try it (which we will). Pearland is lucky to have this place here. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!

My first visit here, it's been on my list since the carribean spot near me in Richmond closed down…read more Food: Love, love the peppery/spicy seasoning on the curry chicken & cabbage. Gotta admit the spiciness had my tongue tingling & my nose running but it wasn't overpoweringly spicy. Btw. I didn't request spicy, that's just how it came. Cabbage and rice & peas were tasty, standard accompaniments. My hubby got the curry goat and it too was very tasty but what got my attention was how tender the goat was! To me, the goat seemed just a little less spicy so the chicken spice level may be just how they cooked the batch that day. Upon entering, I thought it was just a takeout place because I didn't see any tables or seating. While waiting on my food, I discovered a whole other large room with seating, full bar & stage! So takeout or dine-in is definitely an option. It's a little bit of a drive for me but I would definitely return.

This was my first time coming to the food truck park and I especially came because of this truck. The staff was so nice I really contemplated about this rating for this review, but when I think about the amount of money paid for my main entree and how I couldn't eat half of it and the spice levels didn't match my expectation, I came to this. A 3.5 would have been more accurate quite honestly but alas, yelp has its system. I ordered the bake and fried fish and the doubles. I asked for spicy on the doubles but they didn't taste too spicy - instead I used the sauce included on my bake n fish (possibly had some scotch bonnet peppers) and it was excellent. The bake and fish came as tacos - I don't think I realized that. It was good, but only two small tacos. The french fries were unfortunately burnt and therefore dry and inedible. I gave up on eating them. We were in a hurry, otherwise, I would have chatted with the staff about possibly getting some new fries. I would give this another try --I'd likely try a few other trucks first or at least have something to accompany my meal in addition to what I order from Krave.
