I had called a few places around town and ZZZ was able to (A) get me in right away, (B) provide a precise quote for what I thought was the issue over the phone and (C) make me feel immediately "safe" with them in that first call. When asking if I wanted refurb or new parts, the price was about $150 difference. I originally said new, but they advised me about the warranty on refurb parts and not to feel scared of it. I appreciated that they didn't just take my money. Once I arrived, I told them about the previous convo at the auto store and they did some diagnostic tests, all while letting me stand there and watch. About 10-15 minutes later and some dusting stuff off they're like...nah you're good. If anything I needed a new battery, but they said even that was in pretty good shape. They offered to install that for me if I wanted, but basically said that I could just go. Since then, my car has been totally fine! A less ethical place could've easily just cheated me, charged for XYZ or installed a new alternator anyway. So they didn't really do work on my car this time, but their honesty 10000% earned my business for the next time a problem arises.

I called to make an appointment for fluid exchanges as my car is nearing 90,000 miles. Before they scheduled the fluid exchanges I requested, they offered to do research to look into my specific make, model, and year to ensure that the items I was asking for would be due and pertinent. They called back within 10 minutes, gave me the research the found, and suggested a transmission exchange service and brake fluid exchange. I dropped my car the morning of my appointment and they were done before 2:00. This is the first car shop I've been to that doesn't smell of oil and tires. And the men behind the counter were dressed nicely in button down shirts with ties. They explained what the services would entail and what they should help with. He was able to schedule us for Saturday afternoon, which was critical since we were supposed to head home that day. Another shop didn't have availability until Monday and the other high rated mobile mechanic was out of town. Because of storm-related commute issues earlier in the week, Jim ended up arriving around 4pm instead of noon. Totally understandable given the conditions. He worked outside in freezing weather and never complained once. Jim was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. He was great with my wife, my son, and even let our dogs jump on him and give him kisses. Despite the tough conditions, he got the job done and got us safely back on the road with a solid new CV axle so we could make it home as planned. I'd hire Jim again in a heartbeat. After 4 days in their shop, they called and said they replaced the battery but could not stop the alarm from going off and on. I asked them if they could just pull it out and they stated it was to complex so I picked it up and brought it home. I reached out to The Mobil Mechanic and he said he could fix it. He came out a few days later. He started working on my car soon after he got here. He was very polite and knowledgeable . He was showing me different things as he was discovering problems with codes. Why I can't give him 5 starts is that he spent 2 hours on the car and said he finally fixed it then he said the aftermarket alarms are not very good and I would most likely have problems pop up again in the future. He said I would just take out the Alarm. I told him go ahead if that what he recomended however, Why didn't he tell me that earlier? Why work on a car to fix a problem then after it is fixed tell me I should have it taken out. Also if you hire him you might want to ask him what the hourly rate is before he starts. I was shocked and I guess shame on me for not asking him before hand.
