He was pleasant to talk to on the phone, and he even confirmed our appointment with a text, saying that I was on the calendar. On the day of our appointment, I called him earlier on to confirm our meeting, and he didn't answer. I sent him a text, and he didn't respond. Four minutes AFTER we were supposed to meet, he texts me, saying that his job was having problems, that he was running about an hour late, and that he could call me when finished to see if I was still available. I told him that I wanted him to call, and he agreed to do so. The work I need done is on a rental property. It's not my own home. As a consequence, I found myself sitting in an empty unit on a Friday night. Now, I guess if I was at my house I could take a nap, watch tv, do some chores, etc. However, this was not the case. I was sitting in an empty house by myself, with no furniture to even sit on. For an hour. On a Friday night. Actually, it was more than an hour. I waited 2.5 hours for Tom to call me, and he never did. The next day, I sent him a text in the morning asking if he was still interested in the job and if he could meet me at another time, or if his failure to call meant that he was not interested in the job. He couldn't even be bothered to respond. Thanks a lot, Tom. I hope you treat your other customers better.

Sweet kid, but holy CRAP he's horrible with time…read more He's always got an excuse for being hours and hours late or not showing up at all. Heaven forbid he should leave to go get something... You have time to go catch a movie! He's not coming back any time soon. I had several projects for him to complete. To be fair, he did very well at switching out two exterior lights. HOWEVER, Do NOT let him drill holes ANYWHERE!!!!! I wanted a recessed light. He couldn't install it; instead, he got a similar flush mount. It's been six days and countless hours of work... I don't have recessed lights. Instead, I have no fewer than 4 holes in my 2nd story hardwood floors (above the kitchen). His drill even went into a storage bin that I had in a closet (piercing the contents over and over). I have 5 gaping holes in my ceiling and am having to hire an electrician AND ANOTHER HANDYMAN to fix Tom's "work." Very sad. I kept giving him chance after chance, and all I got for it was hours and hours of wasted time waiting, a ruined floor, ruined ceiling, ruined computer monitor, ruined storage bin, and swiss cheesed keepsakes. #Sigh

I hired Rene again to replace some 50/70 year old exposed wiring going from my house to my detached…read moregarage. It was more complicated than it looked. Rene trenched, organized my garage, and ran the looong line of fat cable, installed a sub-panel, repaired a water line he cut (that should not have been there), and upgraded completely my garage electrical, bringing unpermitted work into line with code and folding them into a permit that he pulled. After he did all of the electrical work, and fixing some other items along the way, he buttoned it lal up cleanly, poured concrete, patched exterior holes and even matched paint and made the holes he put in walls invisible. Rene is not afraid to pull a permit, passes inspection on the first try, and really, really, really pays attention to detail. Like, take my money, please. I now have a mid-century garage ready for the 21st century.

I would definitely recommend him to anyone and have plans on having him come back to fix things that other electricians weren't capable of doing but did a half a** job at. We instantly like him, got a great feeling about him, and had already seen the quality work he'd done for some friends. We hired him for a full kitchen and bath remodel. He met with us again to make sure he understood everything we needed, and provided us with a comprehensive bid for labor. All material costs were passed thru directly, no mark-up, and he always kept receipts as back up. As we continued to add to the project (as is prone to happen), Matt was upfront with us and told us what would add time/cost. His final bill was EXACTLY what we expected, NO SURPRISES. Matt transformed our house into exactly what we wanted!…read more We purchased our home, fully planning on remodeling the entire place. We got at least 4 bids: 1 from a personal referral, 1 from someone we had used before, 1 from someone my husband struck up a conversation with at home depot, and 1 from yelp (May's Remodeling). From the beginning, Matt and Jay came in, walked through our home, asked alot of great questions, and made some good recommendations. When we got our bids back, they were not the lowest and not the highest. Ultimately, we decided to go with them based on their thoroughness and the fact that they would be the ones doing the work, not subcontracting out to a bunch of other people. During the remodel, Matt was there almost every single day, working from early morning to evening. My husband and I would come a few times a week, check-in, make decisions, bring materials, and every time, Matt was there. What I appreciated most about Matt was that as we moved along, inevitably there were changes we wanted, and he never shied away from doing something, even if it was a little more work, if it made sense for us in the long run. For example, adding more switches, insulating some walls, moving plumbing, etc... We felt he had our happiness and satisfaction as top priority, and his change rates were very reasonable. We've now been moved into our new home for a little over 2 months, and all seems well. There's definitely alot more I could say, but I'll let the pictures speak from here.
