I was in this store yesterday and after shopping around for 20 mins & the worker in the store helping me, I finally chose the perfect birthday gift for my friend. She told me the shirt I chose is in a number of their other boutiques as well. I had the shirt in my hand ready to check out when that same worker abruptly came up to me and took the shirt out of my hand and said, I'm sorry someone just bought this online so you can no longer have it! I stood there in absolute shock. She had just told me they have this same shirt in their other boutiques! Why did she have to rip it from my hands?!! I've had so many friends through the years warn me about bad experiences at Swirl, but still shopped there because I believe in supporting small businesses, but I will NEVER shop there ever again. read more

Absolutely awful experience. The boutique itself is small and overpriced, but what really made me want to leave was the owner's terrible attitude. I was browsing when I overheard her yelling at one of her employees in the back. She was literally berating them in front of customers -- it was so awkward and uncomfortable. The employee looked so embarrassed and just kept apologizing, but the owner didn't care at all. I tried to brush it off and continue shopping, but honestly, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was supporting such a toxic environment. No one should have to work like that, especially not for the kind of money they're charging here. Save yourself the trouble and find a store that treats both its customers AND its staff with respect. This place is a joke. read more

This place is an absolute scam. Bought a ring here for $62 and they had a QR code in store for the brand that was selling it for $40 on their website. Tried to return the ring and the manager said that Shopify doesn't allow for refunds. The biggest joke I've ever heard. Do not shop here read more

Horribly managed store, rude staff and they judge you as soon as you walk in. This store doesn't belong in San Clemente. What a horrible experience, do not shop here. Plenty of other boutique stores on Del Mar that will not over charge you and truly care about your business. read more

Very poor customer service. I have bought many items at this store over the years. Most recently a $250 handbag for my daughter. And before that another $250 handbag. Then my daughter bought me a bracelet from here for my birthday which is way too big for my wrist. When I took to exchange it, the sales girl wouldn't exchange it although it was still in gift box and never worn. The same bracelet is still being sold in store. I would have purchased something for my daughter that was more than the bracelet was worth. Such an unwise business decision to lose a long time customer over 1 bracelet. We will not buy anything here again. So many other great stores around other than this one. read more

Cute boutique! They sell women's clothing including, dresses, rompers, bottoms, tops, jackets, etc. They also sell accessories, such as necklaces, bracelets, belts, etc. Their clothing and accessories range from $70 to over $200. The times I have been into Swirl, I was greeted and ask if I needed any help. So far so good in the customer service department. They are located on Del Mar with street parking available. There are also a few parking lots in the back on each side of the street that are public. read more

Swirl is an awesome clothing store for women. I wanted to shop for my wife's birthday and was told from a friend I should try here. The ladies working there were super helpful and friendly. Lisa the owner asked me to show her some pictures of my wife so she could better understand her body type and style. All of the clothes she helped me pick out were great choices and my wife was very happy. The store is very nice inside and smells good. The girls were nice and not pushy sales people. There were also a ton of accessories like jewelry, hats, and candles which made the shopping experience even better for me since I didn't have to hit a bunch of other stores to find what I needed. The owner and her employees know exactly what to pull for us and are never pushy. The shop, street and beach are a must see if you're from out of town. Make an afternoon out the experience! Super cute store. Nicely organized. Beautiful selection of unique jewelry, classic and trendy. Lots of CUTE clothing, shoes, purses, swimwear. They cover it all, along with various price points. You can definitely splurge, or choose something on sale. The owner Lisa is adorable. She has great taste and rocks at putting outfits together. Maddie is always so sweet and helpful. She goes above and beyond. If they don't have your size in their store, they will call to their other location to try to accommodate you. Noticed a pair of jeans in the window. Stepped inside to ask if the jeans were available in my size. I was told by the young salesgirl that they did not carry anything in their store for someone like me. Even though I'm a mature woman I wear a size 2. There was no one else in the shop....and now I know why. I mentioned this to the owner of the shop and she tried to deny that it happened, even though she wasnt' there. Very poor reflection on management. I won't return as there are so many other lovely places to shop for far better quality clothing where customers are treated with kindness and respect. Before purchasing anything here, be sure to check Isabelle's cabinet just a few doors up! I just bought an outfit here and then walked up a few doors to Isabelle's cabinet and found the same exact outfit for a fraction of the price. Yes, Swirl's receipt says that you can only return for store credit, but the sales associates make no mention of that at the time of purchase. I went back to swirl to ask for a price adjustment to match the store a few doors away and they called the owner. She said because the receipt returns for store credit only" they would do nothing, not even give store credit for the difference. Terrible customer service from the manager. SHOP AROUND FOR BETTER PRICES! You might just be able to find the same exact thing just a few doors up for a fraction of the price!!!! read more

I don't usually like writing negative reviews but I must about the customer service at this boutique. Went in there last Tuesday afternoon, and asked one of the women that work there how much something was because I couldn't find the price tag. She was very rude... Looked up from whatever she was doing on the computer and was like "you can look yourself, it's right there in the back..." She gave me a terrible look and went back to working on her computer. Terrible customer service for the other times that I have walked in there. Never going in there again. read more
