Just the absolute best food in town! I am impressed ! The Bakery Items, best ever juices, unbelievable pizza, outrageous sushi! Erewhon has a huge selection of organic produce, all fresh and beautiful and the prices fairly moderate for the fruits and veggies .In fact some of the produce was a bargain like 3 a basket for organic strawberries, The broccoli was no more expensive than at a cheap grocery store and a thousand time better!. I found some hard-to-find items too, Now the deli and prepared foods ARE pricy for sure. But are so excellent .they are worth splurging on. read more

Hands down my favorite grocery store. It's delicious and you feel GOOD after eating-- not down in the dumps. My only complaint is on the prices. I wish eating healthy was more affordable. You can EASILY spend $500 for only a weeks worth of groceries here. But hey, health is wealth. MUST TRY'S: AM- bulletproof Coffee and breakfast burritos. The coffee is the best. Lunch: Their tuna/tabouli wrap is to die for. Buffalo cauliflower is also the best I've ever had in my life although apparently they get the sauce from Albertsons (the brand Bobs hot sauce, I believe)... which is kind of annoying because that's definitely not organic, which is confusing on why it's listed at $14/lb. Whatever... it's so good I can get past it. Dinner: again, buffalo cauliflower because it's that good. Their pizza is also yummy and they have healthier options for their pizza! read more

while trying to order some hot items and smoothies from the counter in Erewhon Calabaas. Was met with extremely rude employees working the cash registers and behind the hot food bar. when asking if they could cut our pizzzas into and heat them for us, We. were told abruptly no ! WE Don't do that here with a snarl in her voice. She was clearly scolding me. I was taken aback as EREWHON has a huge reputation for customer service . She made a point of holding up our order for a long time just to heat and cut the item. This happened 3/19/2023 around 2 pm. When our order finally came I ask for straws for our smoothies, I was once again given a dirty look by the girls behind the counter As you know, Erewhon is a very expensive market and this KIND OF ATTITUDE IS BETTER OFF AT A JACK IN THE BOX. Excellent service, food, products but super expensive take out food. Seriously, take out dinner for 2 people was $39 and not a lot of food, just didn't pay attention at the prices. Cappucino was like $5.25 plus tip wonderful coffee but that's like restaurant prices. Produce section and coffee bar is what distinguishes from other markets. However, if you choose to eat from restaurant , food is prepared by inexperienced and what appears to be underpaid staff members as they are there for pay check rather than passionately adhering to customers requests for particular ingredients in what other competitor markets such as Whole Foods, follow your heart, take pride in from my daily experiences. Grocery store has same selection as others with added specialty items in a condensed setting. I will no longer speak highly of this market due to my experience this morning. read more

We are glad this store and the entire chain is doing well and hope they continue to expand. We seldom shop there when we do we buy mostly produce. Was there today and saw once again the recurring problem of produce items not being priced. Thankfully we can afford to shop anywhere but we like to know what things cost, perhaps many of their other patrons do not care. They had a watermelon bin outside, no price we looked all over, we selected one about 15 lbs. We asked the cashier for the price before she rung it ... was over $21.00... for a watermelon... in SoCal...in Aug.... a bit nuts so we did not buy it. That is why we like to see prices. We did buy salad greens and tomatoes again not priced but were reasonable. We would buy more produce there if we did not have to keep asking for prices, hope they fix that. read more

Giving it 3 stars because it's a beautiful store, great selection of high quality products and even better hot foods/gf breads. However, their customer service could seriously learn something from Whole Foods. We spent $300 there last week on the weeks groceries only to return home to find moldy grape tomatoes and awful bananas. We were disappointed as we were paying a premium price and felt we deserved a premium product. Anyway, we went back today to pick up a couple of things and when telling the cashier about the tomatoes she said, 'oh, darn, that's too bad, you could've brought them back within 72 hours for a refund.' Okay, I'm sorry I don't live close enough to just drop off some moldy tomatoes. Nor was I going to hold onto anything that was moldy and gross. Whole Foods just tells me to grab another on my way out and bring them back if it's convenient. . We definitely won't shop there again for anything other than the bagels they carry, hot food, or their GF banana breads. Although-the sushi there is great and the guy making it is a sweetheart! Amazingly, but expensive, curation of healthier food choices. Be prepared for $4 pizza slices, $10 juices, and organic personal lube. With that said, it is a superbly clean grocery store that has a lot of neat products and great customer service. They also sell raw milk here. read more

For the past three years, we loved going to Erewhon, every day if not every other day, for the freshly made organic hot food from their kitchen (protein plus 2 side combo). We would often sit outside and enjoy it right away or take it home with us, for lunch or dinner. However, some of their dishes, unfortunately, are prepared with sunflower oil or sunflower seeds, and my girlfriend is very allergic. We were always careful to choose dishes for which they said these ingredients were not used. But in late August, and then again a few weeks later, she had a bad allergic reaction to the food we ordered and got sick. It is possible that the sunflower oil or seeds from some of the dishes, while being prepared in the kitchen, contaminated other dishes. We don't want to take any more chances, so we have had to stop going there. We wish we could enjoy their delicious food again: perhaps in the future they will stop using sunflower seed oil or sunflower seeds altogether, in their daily hot food kitchen preparations. read more

Erewhon has a great selection of healthy, quality products. The Deli and ready made food department is extraordinary. The reason for three stars is that they tend to gouge the consumer, charging higher prices than other stores selling the same product. There is a general disrespect for the customer. The clerks are unfriendly, with a few exceptions and they act like they are doing you a huge favor by serving you. Also- most importantly, if you don't ask for your receipt, they don't automatically give it to you. You should ALWAYS ask for it and check it before you leave. They overcharge and make mistakes (always on the side of favoring the store, NEVER the consumer), more than any other store I shop at. read more

I brought back an item I purchased 7 days ago. I gave them the exact time I bought it and told them I had paid cash. I read off every item I bought that day. One of those items, when I opened it yesterday tasted so bad I wanted to exchange it for something else. Zully refused my return. I shop there regularly and will not be doing so any longer when they didn't honor their own policy. This incident combined with their masks policy as a small biz owner subjecting people to forfeiting an inalienable right to breath fresh air are two main reasons why I will not shop at this store again. I was harassed by one of the young, tall, attractive employees on my last visit when he arrogantly spoke to me. Add attitude to their uncomfortable outdoor furniture that's always dirty and ask yourself why you pay double to shop there. It's not worth it. The holy grail of supermarkets! Vegans, vegetarians and raw foodists unite in this spectacular store for albeit expensive, high quality products. I'm not any of the aforementioned, as I eat it all, but I do but organic and that is Erewhon's number one claim. Their produce is the best of the best and all 100% organic. They have incredible gluten-free, dairy-free baked goods and a supplement section and beauty department that will make you week in the knees! Plus this particular location has eons of samples. Samples of things like fresh squeezed juices and homemade banana bread. Most of which you end up buying because they are too good to refuse and "healthy," or at least that's what you tell yourself. Then you check out and manage to spend $100 for the five items in your basket. But at least it's all organic... read more

Let me start by saying that every single item at the store is ridiculously overpriced, but that's not the reason for a bad review right? you have the choice of not shopping there. I came home with moldy grapes, moldy strawberries and recently almond milk, that tasted funky and had lumps, which is when I checked the expiration date and was shocked to see it had expired in March. The food is always fresh, and they offer a large variety of health-conscious foods. Erewhon reminds me of whole Foods on crack because they are very similar except this place is wag more expensive. I got a two-course entree and an ice tea to spend right over $30. This is the best market around. I eat their hot meals, smoothies, sushi, etc. often and am never disappointed. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their designated area. I recently started purchasing skin care products there, and the employee who assisted me was a delight. While their grocery items can be understandably pricey--the products are fresh, organic, and likely the best for you. However, I find their combo plates to be reasonably priced, especially for the amount of food. Erewhon is my favorite place in Calabasas and if I eat out of the house, it tends to be there. read more

This incident took place Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at around 5:30pm. Sarah is a cashier here and she was a very angry and unkind individual. I asked her for utensils which they keep them behind the register now and you HAVE to ask them. She rolled her eyes and didn't even answer me at first. Then aggressively handed/tossed the utensils at me. I needed a spoon for my 2 year old child who I had in my arms. Which I asked for after she gave me forks. She told me they do not have spoons there. I have literally got spoons every time I get hot food at this specific Erewhon for my children. So I asked her if another register had spoons. She then told me that they do not carry spoons here. So I went to another register and asked that cashier who gave me a spoon out of their very full jar of spoons. On my way out I told Sarah that they do have spoons here, for the next time a customer asks for spoons. All she did was glare up at me from her notes. When I called the store to tell them what happen, the manager wouldn't even say her name and was just very rude and sarcastic. I hope this will encourage the store to train their employees to bring respect and kindness to others. My family and I come here almost every other day and have never had an encounter like this. You never know what kind of a day or life someone is having. You never know if someone is struggling with suicidal and depressive thoughts. People like Sarah could be the push that makes someone act upon those thoughts. Plus that is not the energy I wish to have my children in. read more
