There are 7 specialists on site . The location is right next to El Camino Real Hospital in a separate medical building . There are some handicapped parking right by the front entrance and a parking garage as well . The office is clean and organized. I love all the movement sensors doors that open on its own. Touch free for the office door and restroom door . My family member is here to see Dr . Louie Chang for a post surgery evaluation. Everything was fine . Dr . Chiang is very professional and knowledgeable. We are happy that we could get the emergency laster surgery scheduled the same day when the eye doctor discovered a tear . The staffs are cheerful and helpful. The waiting room has a flat screen TV that shows educational short video . Like the pop diabetics quizzes, the images of your retina and how the retina is affected and becomes different type of eye medical conditions. Love the design of this office and the medical building . It is bright, clean and has a good ambience. NVRVA was establish since 1983 . All the specialized graduated from elite medical schools and finished fellowships with awards . Highly recommended.

I've been here 3 times now and had to leave before the appointment was finished because we were here from 1:30pm-4:30pm. I think they overbook patients. I think the doctor is a nice guy as well as the staff but the wait time is way too long. Their whole system should be rearranged. Because we have way too many patients in at once and multiple times I've heard patients complain about the wait time. It's ridiculous and extremely frustrating.

All of my info is available for Dr Wang to view as he works through my exam. Luckily my issues are holding steady. I think he enjoys giving me the good news. I'm so happy with Doctor and team!

My surgeon left Stanford and I have been doing my annual visits with Dr wang from last 3 years. Given my history, I was understandably anxious about new visual symptoms. Dr. Wang's credentials and expertise are impressive, and I appreciated that he was able to examine my retina and confirm that he did not see any new tears, holes, or signs of retinal detachment. But the check was barely even for a minute. I left the appointment feeling that I would have benefited from more explanation and discussion. My symptom was new and unusual, and because it was in the same eye that had previously detached, I had many questions about possible causes and what I should watch for going forward. The visit felt very brief, and I would have appreciated a little more time to understand his assessment and next steps. I respect Dr. Wang's expertise and the reassurance that my retina looked stable. My feedback is that spending a few additional minutes explaining findings and addressing patient concerns would make the experience even better, especially for patients with a history of retinal surgery who may come in feeling anxious. Overall, I appreciate his knowledge and I hope future visits allow for a little more patient discussion and education.

I got Dr Chen's phone number and office location from my insurance website indicating he is within network. Went for the appointment and the front office took a copy of my insurance card, then ask for a co-payment upfront. This indicated to me that the appointment was covered by my insurance. When it came to scheduling for surgery, the nurse did not bother to check whether the medical providers and procedures were covered by my insurance, nor tell me if the cost will or won't be covered by my insurance. I canceled my surgery one day before the procedure. Then came the billing for the office visit. I provided the billing office with what I pulled off of my insurance website, which is using the NPI of Dr Chen. But they insisted on using Retinal Diagnostics NPI, which is not in my insurance network. What a mess! If their medical providers are going to use their phone and address, you'd think that Retinal Diagnostics will coordinate with their physicians to make sure any services provided by their providers at their site would be listed in insurance website. Don't use this center. They DO NOT CARE if their services are covered in your insurance plan! The staff at the institution I finally had my surgery performed were diligent in checking first with my insurance plan before they book the procedure. Not Retinal Diagnostics.

He was looking at pictures of my retina, I asked if this was from the stroke? He snapped and said we're not talking about that right now! He was raising his voice, and he comes and takes my hand and told me I need to relax! I jerked my hand away. I never raised my voice! He kept raising his, I got up to leave and told him he was condescending and arrogant. I told him I'm here because my left side of my face goes numb and my eye has been affected since the stoke. It was just a simple question because I had concerns! He would not answer me. His assistant had to push him out the door. What a guy!! Ask a question and get yelled at. I guess when you're seeing 70 or 80 patients a day you don't have time to answer questions!! I've never seen a professional person act this way!! Never go see him!!!

I have an eye condition that needed to be seen on an emergency basis, the morning before a three day weekend. I live in the Sierra foothills, but happened to be in Modesto. After several hours and calls to three different practices (including Sutter where my primary doctor is located), I found Advanced Retina Institute. The receptionist immediately understood and validated my medical concern. She was able to get me an appointment to be seen by Dr Chandron in 20 minutes. When I arrived the reception team and technicians were all incredibly kind. With a very busy office, they moved me through the steps toward seeing the doctor with amazing efficiency. Dr Chandron listened to my concern, gave me a thorough exam and talked with me about a plan to address my eye emergency over the weekend. We scheduled a convenient follow up based on my tight schedule the following week. They were incredibly flexible with appointment times. My follow up appointment was equally impressive. I love Dr Chandron's positive, kind, considerate, and proactive approach to eye healthcare. This practice is outstanding! I've decided to move my eye care to Dr Chandron, even though Advanced Retina Institute is an hour and thirty minutes from home.
