I'm not a fan of going to the dentist like I hate it because I'm not proud of my teeth. But this is the dentist that I'd like to go back to as Dr. Eric's crew made me feel comfortable and help me understand what my teeth needs. The dentist and dental assistant always reassured if you were ok whenever I felt irritated or pain. After the cleaning I had photos of my teeth and a video to watch in the end. The person whom I spoke with helped me understand what this and that is with my teeth and what I need when I come back It was so nice. They gave you protective eye wear when they were doing the procedures in your teeth. Most dental places I've been to, don't have that. The place is very clean, modern, and organized. Love the flooring in the waiting room but most def the friendly service. Def found my dentist. Let's just say I can't wait to come back for my next visit. Thank you. I can start off by saying I hate going to the dentist. I HATE IT! Thankfully, Dr. Peña and his awesome crew do a great job of making me feel comfortable. From his HUGE, beautiful, modern and clean facility to the gentle hands this is everything you want and need from a dentist office. I would NEVER rave about a dentist office but this place is great! You walk in to an elegant waiting room, with a large television and beautiful fish tank to enjoy while you wait. All the rooms and equipped with NEW chairs and all new equipment. Each stall is also equipped with your personal tv so you can watch whatever's on TV and even before and after pictures of the work done by the Dr. As for Dr. Peña, this guys a magician. I have feared the Dentist since I was young and have never gone consistently to the Dentist until now. He will explain everything step by step, he will make sure your comfortable and will make sure you deem NO PAIN! They also make it very easy working with your insurance. The dentist will not cancel their insurance contract but will not abide by the contracted rate. I had an extraction done in June and was quoted over the phone by Teresa that it will cost me $400 for the extraction despite the fact that I have PPO through Delta Dental. I assumed they are a none contracted provider because the amount is so high. Her reasoning was because "the insurance doesn't pay that much money" exact quote from her. Sure enough, I had the procedure done. I received a letter from my insurance that I was only supposed to pay $83.00 because of their PPO contract. Not only they charged me for the extraction, they also billed the insurance. Insurance advised me to file a grievance and get my money back. Sure enough, after they learned that I filed a grievance, they are claiming some other procedure that they done that was supposed to be not covered. This procedure was never discussed with me during my visit. It magically appeared after they learned that I filed a grievance against them and magically produced document that I supposedly signed for. This people know how to cover their tracks. Very shady practice. I filed a complaint to the board as well. I hope they are investigated for insurance and patient fraud. Greedy. read more

Very nice place and staff, however they will try to sell you services you don't need. They recommended 2 root canals and multiple cavities for my boyfriend and after he got a second opinion all he actually needed was ONE cavity filled. I guess they have to pay for the luxuries somehow but malpractice shouldn't be the answer. read more

We Yelpers eat so much that it's only natural we take the best care of our chompers right?!! The dental office is located in a shady corner and right beside a chucky cheese.. really?! But don't let the outside fool you, Dr Pena is a gadget freak and this clinic is very high tech! Almost every visit here, He will be showing me a new machine or technique he recently acquired.. Walk in the door and the first thing you notice is this place is impeccably clean! just what you expect from a medical facility.. Each bay/station has its own computer screen and TV aside from the usual industrial drilling equipment.. You can choose to watch Matt Damon's latest movie Hereafter instead of novacaine to put you to sleep.. The staff is friendly and exude a family type vibe, heck they even try and feed me lunch while waiting.. Every person here is competent and accommodating, so much so that I wouldn't hesitate to bring kids here.. Be confident none of them will suffer a traumatic dentist experience we read so much about.. They may even start liking going to the dentist especially if you take them to chucky cheese afterwards.. Not that that's where I go after my appointments.. :p read more

Today was my first time actually receding care from Dr,Pena and his staff. My husband whom has a fear of the dentist cannot stop raving about this place. He took it upon himself to book me an appt. I arrived about 15 minutes before my scheduled time, to allow time for all the paperwork to be signed. Tess the office momager assisted me with the insurance stuff and I literally did not have to worry about any of that. This office is top of the line super fancyyyyyy and pretty. It smells soo good and it's literally spotless. I was greeted and roomed by.... I can't remember his name... but he's one of the assistants maybe RDA (registered dental assistant) I don't know if that's a thing. Anyway he did my X-rays took pictures of my teeth and gave me tips and tricks in regards to brushing and maintaining oral care. I recently fractured my tailbone (hurts like hell) and had to frequently reposition myself. He was very attentive and understanding with the whole situation!! My 4 yr old daughter accompanied me to my appt and he offered to play a movie for her which did the trick. I was treated by a female denstist lady she complimented my oral hygiene over and over, which is quite delightful to hear. Every time I had gone to the dentist, I was in dire pain and needed work done ASAP . It's always been a negative experience. I am now looking forward to coming back and getting my work done!!! First time going in I was very pleased with how nice and welcoming the office was. They made me feel very comfortable. Although I had to get a root canal and a crown done and I was very nervous. they made sure I was welltaken care of. No pain did I ever feel after dr Pena assured I wouldn't feel any pain during the root canal. As well dr Chang did my cleaning and did a wonderful job. Also I bring three of my children there and my daughter had her braces done and they always make her feel welcomed and joke around with our whole family. I like our previous dentist but I had to transfer and search for a dentist that accepts our insurance near our place as it has been a hassle to travel 20+ miles just to see him. A family friend recommended Dr. Pena which is still far but only around 10 miles from where we live. He has a lot of patients and now I know why they keep coming back. He has a pleasant demeanor and is very much skilled at what he is doing. He always explains the procedure before doing it and gives professional advice if the procedures are needed or not. Aside from that, his staff is very friendly and accomodating. I also like that they are flexible in terms of finances and that they will inform you of any co-pay before moving on to do a procedure. His clinic is located in a strip of stores and shops in Reseda Blvd. that has ample parking space. I could have given 5 stars if not for some instances of 30-45 min waiting times inspite of the appt. which they are very apologetic. His clinic also has a small receiving area which can be a bummer if there are a lot of patients as we would sometimes wait standing up. Not really comfortable when you have children in tow. This, however, would not happen very often as the turnover of patients is fast. Wish they could get a bigger clinic though. Aside from these trivial drawbacks, Dr. Pena is a keeper and will definitely be recommended. read more

my appointment was cancelled twice....and the secretary said she would call back to resched...but never did...makes you feel they don't like you as a patient....actually calls this dentist a root canal doctor.. just remembered my roommate asked me in passing if I knew another dentist because her dentist just did a root canal on her teeth that only had a small cavity and when I asked her the name of the dentist...lo and behold...it's the same root canal dentist, dr pena that did two root canals on my upper teeth...dr pena would always show you the x-ray and convince you that you need a root canal...don't be fooled....get a second opinion... read more

Dr. Peña has been my dentist for 3 yrs and OMG him and his staff are amazing! Of course they know me very well I love them and they love me! LOL I vist him yearly for cleaning checkups and whatever needs to be done. Its weird how I look forward to seeing my dentist unlike others! im giving this place 3 stars because of customer service. i have been going to dr. pena for almost 1 year now and i love him! i have never had any dentist like him before that was very considerate and gentle with his patients. i love his staff too because they are really nice and accommodating. the only problem i have is TRYING TO CONTACT them! i dont know how many freaking times i have to keep calling just to be able to speak to someone. so overall, i think they just need to find a new secretary or hire 2 secretaries because they have a lot of clients! even if you try and leave a massage it will take them FOREVER to get back you! ughhh i dont want to leave dr. pena, so they really need to improve on their customer service! read more
