But when they came, the technician claimed it would be another $180 to clean the unit and that we needed to clean the unit before he could finish the inspection, which is totally a scam as we have used another company who did all of it for one flat $99 fee but wasn't available since we are selling our home and wanted to get it done sooner than later. And then he tried to upsell again by saying our Freon was low. But we declined since we had to pay $80 just for him to visually inspect our unit without being able to complete the inspection. So now we have to do the entire thing again with another hvac servicer, one that is actually honest and not upsell a routine maintenance into an almost $300 charge! We even spoke with the owner/manager who said nothing could be done. So they won't even work with you, and you have to pay $80 just to get them to leave without really doing anything of any value. So save yourself the money and the headache and look elsewhere!

My water heater went out. The company that "diagnosed" the problem charged me $99 and said that…read morethis did not include the cost to replace it. The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. So yes, had I gone with that company, it would have cost me $2300. Armed with this information, I posted pictures and exactly what the "diagnosis" said and asked for emailed quotes...to be clear I said EMAIL only. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested. He came in.. with the water heater... replaced it... and went on his way. Other companies, that followed directions, also came in higher than $2000. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with Jason and Lakeland! Betty is always kind and helpful on the phone. Tim (the owner) and his son provided a fair quote for a heat pump and installed it last summer. Unfortunately, after it was installed, it stopped working approximately six different times and follow-up visits were needed. Water dripped onto our ceiling from the drain pan, and I had to have it professionally repaired. They finally got the system working. Did I mention this happened in the middle of the summer with a newborn? I decided to let the cost of the ceiling repair go, as I felt bad for them working on the system in the heat. In the fall, we decided to use another local HVAC company moving forward. They pointed out that Krope and Son hadn't installed the correct filter size, and had instead jammed an incorrect size into the new system. Now, one year later, it's been discovered that the drain pan was actually broken and siliconed together. I called Tim to ask why they did it this way, and he completely lost his temper, spoke down to me, and used the time to badmouth his competitor. Boy, am I glad I never filled out the sheets he had asking for recommendations to neighbors and friends. Guess they've lost our business for good.

Harmonic Heating and Air Conditioning is the BEST!!! Our AC…read moredied and after another company told us that our unit could not be repaired and had to be replaced ($6,000), we contacted Harmonic for a second opinion. Daniel the service technician opened the unit up and tested everything. He took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He discovered a bare wire that had been chewed (possibly by a mouse) and was touching the metal housing which tripped the circuit breaker. Daniel replaced the wire and the unit is working perfectly. The honesty and integrity of this company is refreshing. We will not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to all our friends.

My entire cooling and heating system was left in an inoperable state…read more I called for a diagnostic of the air conditioner today because cool air isn't coming from the vents. I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!
