My entire cooling and heating system was left in an inoperable state…read more I called for a diagnostic of the air conditioner today because cool air isn't coming from the vents. I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!

I did not switch from repair to cleaning & maintenance. I asked A. if C & M was possible afterward, unaware of 2 more with no heat. Harmonic called me "selfish" for this. 4. Any possibility A. and K. have unconscious biases towards people like me? They accused us of "manipulating" what? To save a few hundred bucks, while we spent in the tens of thousands at Harmonic's better former (aquired) company) you imagined up? 5. How could Harmonic accuse me of lying about my pain. Because I was able to and had to carry my 10 lb dog for a short moment because of her barkin? Why do I even have to explain my chronic severe back pain and mostly failed back surgeries and weak immune system? 6. I had no "agenda," but getting my heate fixed. I am not playing any "game" as accused. I am standing up for myself. 7. K.'s statistics on the number of my Goole reviews are false. 8. A. & K. are the ones who were "aggressive, harsh, unethical, disrespectful, and manipulative." Stop projecting and gaslighting. So I've tried to get Home Comfort to schedule the yearly furnace inspection the last two days and…read moreI gather their receptionist is not passing on my message, or Mike or Steve do not want my business any longer or they're super busy. She said they are scheduling furnace inspections for the fall now, and I know their schedule fills up fast. In fact, I missed getting on their schedule for last year (2024) and then they told me I did not need it, since the furnace was only a year old. Their scheduling is that you call, leave a message with the receptionist, and then, they call you back to schedule service, usually later in the day. I've left my phone on every day from 5 am until 8 pm when we go to sleep. Home Comfort installed the furnace ac, thermostat and humidifier back in 2023 brand new. Everything is working great but I'm a teacher and start work next week so I figured I'd get this scheduled now, since I can't always keep my phone on, and answer it. I finally asked the receptionist, why isn't he calling me back, and she said, oh, he keeps a list for furnace checks, and he'll get to it, later. He's busy with a/c right now. Maybe tell people that, because here I'm glued to my phone, and not realizing that. July 22, 2025 Home Comfort out today to see why the a/c they installed in Oct 2023 only works sporadically or when I reset the system by turning the thermostat (that they installed) on and off to get it restarted. It kept stopping and then not restarting, after the temperature was at the point I had set. So if the room got warm again, no a/c, unless I turned everything off and then back on again, after waiting at least 5 minutes. Home Comfort replaced the thermostat for no cost, and told me I have a 10 year warranty on the a/c, thermostat, furnace, and humidifier that they installed in 2023. I did not know that. Don't call anyone else. I had a company out here 2 week ago, paid them, and they could not figure out why the a/c was not always working and that cost me way too much. Lesson learned. You have to get Home Comfort out because their techs know stuff other companies don't know. They installed American Standard equipment, but the new thermostat (that works) is Emerson. They installed Aprilaire for the humidifier. Now, my a/c is super cold because it is staying on and restarting as the house needs cooling. Finally, It's working properly! So happy! But now, they're not returning my calls to check the furnace for the winter.....

The company then quoted me $2200 as the cost to replace it and reiterated that this did not include the $99 that they already charged me. So yes, had I gone with that company, it would have cost me $2300. Armed with this information, I posted pictures and exactly what the "diagnosis" said and asked for emailed quotes...to be clear I said EMAIL only. I then got no less than 10 phone calls saying "please give us a call so we can talk about your situation. Some called more than once. Lakeland Heating and Cooling (Jason) was nothing like that... $1270 flat rate to replace the water heater. Yes, thats how he replied in his email.. as I requested.
