Went there to get my car fixed, but ended up buying one of the cars on their lot. I was told it's a great car and that they did a bunch of work on it. Supposedly, it was worth $8000. A week after I bought it, the engine started to overheat and they had to replace the radiator. Three weeks later, they tried to fix a clunky noise in the rear but couldn't find and fix the underlying issue. I brought the car into a different shop and they found numerous problems with an estimated cost of $5000 to get those fixed. Needless to say I will not go back there again and also wouldn't recommend it to anyone! read more

Terrible customer service and terrible communication! I took my car in on a Thursday for a diagnosis. They gave me a diagnosis by the end of the day and I setup an appointment the very next Monday to have it worked on. On Monday I took my car in, that evening before closing I call and they say they are waiting on a part to be delivered which is understandable. I call back Tuesday they say the same thing the part hasn't come in yet - which I thought was odd at this point since my appointment was made the previous Thursday. I then call back the next day on Wednesday they explain the part has been discontinued from their warehouse and they no longer are able to get the part, but if I, myself, order it they can apply it. They said "we can work on the car it just won't be different" huh?? I ask how much the part is they say $260+ I asked if it was in the original estimate and they say no....???! But I thought the part was ordered??So I was going to have to pay more than estimate? These guys lied to me, said they ordered the part, but somehow their warehouse doesn't have the part so how was it ordered. Then asked me to order the part but the estimate would be the exact same. Terrible customer service terrible communication and never even apologized for the mishap or having my car for three days without being able to complete the work. read more

I can't stop singing the praises of this place. I was getting my car ready for sale and wanted to make sure it had good, fresh oil and no leaks and the like. They checked it out and found nothing wrong with it, and because the oil was still in really good shape they convinced me not to get it changed -- and they didn't even charge me for their time for inspecting the car! I drive 2012 VW turbo which just hit 86k. It's recommended to have the transmission fluid changed. The dealer quote was almost $1000. My boyfriend recommended Eric's as a friend of his had recently had work done of his VW. Made an appointment once in it was discover the gasket was leaking. Total rip off. Don't trust them. I went in for preventative maintenance and left with my car sputtering - after 4 months of them fumbling around they told me my timing chain was bad. Probably put the wrong oil in - don't trust your foreign car to them. Bad business - supposed to fix a rear main seal - didn't even fix that and charged over $1000 for it. So glad I have access to a competent and honest automotive service shop! ======================================= I went to several automotive shops since living in Seattle. Eric's was the only one not to tell me it would cost a bundle to replace my Chevy's broken gas gauge when my fuel system was having issues. He has also done full tuneups among other various things. I've had this 2001 Chevy since it was brand new. I don't plan on adding any new car payments as long as I can keep this rig running. Worst place ever! Went I to have my transmission serviced and he told me I needed a rebuilt transmission for $3500.00 that's the quote without labor and other parts. My car has only 89,000 miles and is a 2006 Explorer. He didn't even drive it or check the transmission fluid. I took it to him because of the good yelp reviews they received. This is a great shop. My dad found this shop for me to take my VW Passat to. Ericson was able to squeeze us in the following Monday. He replaced my thermostat (we brought the parts and the coolant) and had it done pretty quick. I was very pleased, and relieved! I then called and scheduled an appointment for August 3rd to have my back brakes and a mount replaced. Again, Ericson was able to squeeze us in again (very last minute too! I called and left a voicemail the night before and had my car in the shop the next morning!) they were very busy but they still managed to get to my brakes. I've brought my car to Ericson for years. I followed him from the previous shop he was working at. There have probably been half a dozen times that I should have written a fantastic review for him since he is always going above and beyond. Tonight was just another example of that. My car broke down 45 minutes after closing time, and I called the shop just in case he was still there to see if I could have the tow truck drop my car off there. Thankfully he answered. I explained my situation and he waited there for almost two hours until I was able to get there with my car. It's Friday night and it's beautiful out. I would have understood if he didn't even answer the phone, much less wait for me. Ericsons customer service has always been excellent. I know my car is in good hands when it is with him, and I know he won't offer me work that I don't actually need. This was a lie. Turns out the problem wasn't fixed and my friend took it to another shop. Guess what.... It was a blown fuse. So he spent $260.00 for a .20 cent fuse.
