I have been going here for a year. I was shown x-rays and told that the case was complicated. Our paperwork indicated that it was only going to take 11 months, but the orthodontist went on vacation for two of those. It did include extraction of four teeth in addition to braces. Dr. Southers is great - friendly, gentle, and he get his job done! But it's the receptionist here, Shawntel that makes this place shine like the christmas star on top of the christmas tree!!! I remember when this place was just a plain lot for years. Fast forward a few years and we were in need to find a specialist. Our general dentist works fine for us, but we needed an orthodontist for our son. You just don't know. And thank goodness this place was only a mile away from our place because coming here monthly was just pain free. Kids can check in themselves on the pad and get called in almost immediately on their appointment time. There's a water cooler, and a self serve Keurig in the waiting area along with a kid's play area just across the view. Just when you've finished taking your first sip of coffee, your kid would be already done for his monthly fitting. There was only one time we left here, and the fitting was a tad tighter than our kid expected. Other than that, everything went fine. We personally did cash at first because our insurance came in a little late but they do take insurance that help paid for our monthly visits. Thank goodness. His office is the one on the right. If you need to get braces for your kid, I recommend coming here. read more

I can't express how fantastic this doctor has been. I've recently been through quite the go around. Long story short I had braces with another orthodontist, and he passed away, having an unfinished treatment and little insurance benefits left you could imagine how stressful this was, not to mention I'm 25 years old with braces. After going around in circles with other orthodontist and my insurance I finally was referred to dr southern. He has been absolutely amazing through this entire process. He even met with me a few times to answer my questions and concerns before I became one of his patients. As amazing as dr southern is, he can't take all the credit. His staff is absolutely delightful. My first call with them I was a hot mess, I was frustrated and as much as I don't want to admit it I kinda let some of that frustrations out on the staff. Even though I didn't act right the staff remained professional and understood completely what I was going through and it has been an absolute pleasure being treated by them. I cannot encourage people enough to get braces!! You only get one set of teeth!!! Dr. Southers is a MUST SEE. Dr. Southers and his entire staff made me feel so comfortable. They were all very friendly and very helpful. During my consultation the doctor told me that in order for him to get me straight I would have to remove some teeth. I would need to get all my 3 wisdom teeth pulled and I would need to get 4 other teeth pulled as well. I have a very small mouth so there is no room for any extra teeth- which was probably the cause of all my crowded teeth. Hearing that I was so terrified. After I asked about 1 million questions. Dr. Southers and his staff made me feel very comfortable. They all encouraged me to go through with it. So I scheduled an appointment with my dentist to get ALL 7 TEETH pulled. Dr. Southers put my braces on 12/22/2016. Best Christmas Present I could ever give myself. Now after a fast 20 months I have the beautiful smile that I have always dreamed of. All of the girls in the office are AMAZING!! They always answered all my questions and were always there for me. Bertha especially- She is so knowledgeable. I know I drove her nuts with my questions over and over at every appointment. Dr. Southers even has an after hours line!! If you happen to break a bracket or something is poking you you can call an after hours number!! Bertha had to meet me after hours one time. I felt so bad having to call the after-hours line on a Friday night. She didn't mind at all. She told me when to be at the office and she took care of me so I would be comfortable over the weekend. She is awesome!! Now most importantly Dr. Southers He is an amazing orthodontist. Every word he said was true. During my entire treatment everything he has told me was the truth. He is a very good orthodontist. There are always times when you want to question something your doctor says..... But I didn't, I just had faith and trusted in him and everything he said became true. He was always so patient with me when I went to my appointments. Every appointment I had 50 questions and he always answered every single one patiently. My son is seen within 5 minutes of arrival and Dr. Southers is very patient and explains everything very thoroughly. If i could give more stars i would! For starters Dr. Southers and his staff are AMAZING! I came to him for my daughters Braces and since day one we were greated with a smile and answered all of my questions. Then Covid happened and we had to put everything on hold (like everyone else) but right after they were able to open up again we got called and Dr was ready to serve us and so were the girls Erika and Bertha doing an amazing job and highly experienced. None the less the front girls Juleen and Bev always on top of follow up appoinments.. and listening to concerns. In general its a friendly enviroment SUPER cleaned and Doctor and his staff all Very Experinced. Dr. Southers and the team at Cypress Orthodontics are such a delight to be around, you almost don't want your braces to come off because that means you won't be seeing them anymore!! Fair warning, this will be somewhat of a lengthy review, but definitely well-deserved :) I made the decision to get braces as an adult to fix some minor issues as a result of letting my teeth shift after braces when I was a kid, and I am so glad I did! From the moment I had my consultation with Dr. Southers, I knew I picked the right place to perfect my smile. I had the usual x-ray, exam, etc. and he took the time to go over the treatment method that I needed and they answered all of my (million) questions about the treatment he chose, pricing, insurance, and payment plans available. I decided to go ahead with treatment, and they took my impressions/molds during the same visit as my consultation, which saved me from having to come back for another appointment. Bev, one of the receptionists, even hand-delivered my impressions to my insurance's office to cut down on time between my consultation and approval for treatment. My insurance company's office is just down the street, but still-- definitely above and beyond to ensure my treatment got started as soon as possible. Throughout the treatment, I was greeted by name each and every time, and looked forward to the conversations I had with the girls/Dr. Southers. Again, the little things that make all the difference and contribute to a truly personalized experience. Dr. Southers also explained each step of the process and answered absolutely every question I had at each adjustment appointment. Oh-- and they give you tokens at each appointment that you can redeem for gift cards! I have an appointment to get my braces taken off tomorrow...nearly six months ahead of schedule and my teeth look beautiful!! As a kid I got braces with Dr Southers and when I failed to wear my retainers (as some kids do) I returned in my mid-30s to get them again. Dr Southers was so great my first time around that even if my insurance didn't cover them, I was going with him again. He and his staff are kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and great at what they do. I have always been welcomed and enjoyed each visit during treatment. Their new office on Cerritos is beautiful, new, and up-to-date. I can't say enough good about the services I have had. My son was a patient 13 years ago, when his dentist wanted to put braces on him at 11, I was fortunate enough to find Dr Southers and he told us to wait, come back in 2 years when he's ready!!
