Today, I went in here to do the final adjustments on my braces so that I can get retainers. I had some Vietnamese food yesterday that got stuck in my braces. So you can imagine just how awful it was. Thankfully, when I was here, I decided to brush my teeth after the powerchains and wires were taken off. I brushed my teeth thoroughly and even used the mouthwash constantly. I'm just so glad this place has those kinds of things I can use to brush and rinse off the disgusting food out of my mouth. So glad I was given that chance. Dr. Brandon made his assistant put on regular red rubber bands on my braces to see if there is anything he and his assistant missed. They didn't. They also used a tool used to scan my teeth so that I can get my retainers next month. It was a bit difficult at first because of the size of the tool in my mouth. But the orthodontist was able to scan all of my teeth within 4 minutes. His employee then put on the lilac powerchains needed to finish up the results. I had to come back in 3 weeks. read more

I have been a customer for the past four years, and overall I have been satisfied with the care my daughter and I have received. However, I do believe there are a few areas where the office could improve. One of my very first visits was frustrating because I waited over 30 minutes before anyone realized my check-in had not gone through. It would be helpful if staff routinely verified that patients have successfully checked in. I also think it would be beneficial for employees to wear name badges so patients know who is caring for them. My daughter has anxiety, and I imagine many young patients do as well. A warm greeting, taking the time to build familiarity, and explaining what will happen during the appointment can make a huge difference. Since children often return for several years of treatment, creating a friendly and reassuring environment is important. Knowing what to expect ahead of time really helps calm my daughter's nerves. Another concern is when patients are asked to keep their mouths open longer than necessary because an employee is taking extra time to prepare or complete another task. Holding your mouth open for an extended period becomes uncomfortable and can even be painful afterward. Anything the staff can do to make the process more efficient and minimize that time would greatly improve the patient experience. We also had one disappointing experience during a cleaning. Most of my daughter's gums were scratched by the cleaning brush and bled throughout the appointment. The hygienist explained that it was because my daughter doesn't floss, but I don't believe that fully explained what happened. She did apologize after realizing I was upset, and I appreciated that, but it was still an unpleasant experience. Despite these concerns, I want to recognize great service when I receive it. Today, Lisette did an outstanding job. She was professional, kind, and made the visit a positive experience. Thank you, Lisette! I just got my braces taken off today. Before this, I had treatment with another orthodontist, but they did a really bad job on my teeth and it made them flare out badly. I came here because of the high ratings, hoping the doctor could fix my case -- and he truly did an amazing job. My case originally required tooth extractions, but I really didn't want to remove any teeth. He still managed to achieve great results without extracting them. I really appreciate everyone here. The staff are very kind and professional. This is just my genuine experience. Many people say it is expensive, but trust me--cheaper options can ruin your teeth, like what happened to me with my previous orthodontist. It was terrible, and I had to spend even more money to fix my teeth. So it's better to invest in good treatment once in your life. I am very pleased with my overall experience with Dr. Brandon and the team at Viva Smiles! I was referred by an implant specialist after a lengthy process of implant consultation after consultation. Because my roots were caving inwards, I wasn't able to get implants immediately and had to redo my orthodontic work, years after I once had braces at a different office. It was difficult to hear but Dr. Brandon's care and attention to the needs of my case made the process so much easier and I trusted him completely.
