Stay away!! Came for the initial quote; called shortly thereafter raising it. Were supposed to be here at 9 to clean windows; after calling found out they would be here 11:30 to 12. Then he tells me he has to reschedule because it is too big a job for one person. After talking to him, I realize he doesn't even know what he is at the house to do. Guy comes with no idea of what he is to do or no idea of previous quote. Ends up wanting $50 more than quote. Be aware they charge for each pane of glass, not window. They charge separately for the screen, each pane of glass in the storm, and the inside and outside of the storm. That means that instead of the listed $2 per storm it can end up costing $5. read more

I scheduled a gutter cleaning with Ernest Windows on 5 July for first thing Monday morning the 15 July. At around 0920, with no one on site, I called the company to find out when I could expect this work to be completed. I was informed that they were having personnel issues and would I mind if their arrival would be delayed between sometime between 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Understanding that stuff happens, I accepted the offer. Around 2:45 pm, I again followed up to find out why no one was on site as agreed upon. I was given the same excuse regarding personnel issues and just needing more time to get someone on site to complete the scheduled work. At 4:40 pm, I again called to find out where their cleaning team was, again the same story regarding personnel issues. When I asked how I went to the first customer of day to now being the last one, the dispatcher could not explain, but said that they were now on the way and would be on site shortly. We their track record of not being able to get workers on site throughout the day and the lateness of the afternoon, and not wanting to be engage with workers on site past 5:00 pm, I was somewhat forced to cancel the scheduled work. This ranking is not due to the quality of work, rather their quality of customer service and keeping me up to date and well informed of changing conditions. Also, having scheduled this work when I would be at home and Ernest Windows not being able to meet their obligations to meet our needs in a timely manner. read more

Ernest got all but one of my windows really clean--there are two annoying storm doors and when he missed a spot on one, I did not insist he redo it, though I admit I hoped he would. Two problems--he arrived early, which was inconvenient, but he worked independently. The serious issue was the mess--Ernest did not make a serious effort to contain dust and dirt--I did not inspect the entire house, since he arrived early, I was busy,, and after he left, I found a mess of dirt in a bathtub that has a window over it, on upholstered furniture in my rec room, etc. I do not even know how these messes occurred. Bottom line--the windows are basically clean and the price was right, but prepare to vacuum! read more

Recent storms made it very clear that my gutters needed to be cleaned. With all the local small businesses being hit by COVID I wanted to make sure I was spending money with the correct people. I got a call about 10 seconds after requesting a quote and agreed the job would be done the next day between 3-5pm. The guy showed up at 6 pm the following day (no call telling me they were going to be late) after ringing the doorbell he proceeded to tell me he was going to start the job; no apologies no is it OK just I am starting. Fast forward to the job being done the price magically increased by 10 dollars (OK small business times are tough etc. Paid the guy and he left it was then I discovered that I will have to get out my leave blower to finish the cleanup of the sidewalk and driveway and then discovered that the guy left the bags of leaves in front of the garage. OK maybe he forgot; called the company and was informed that they normally don't take the leaves with them but the owner would personally come to pick them up the next morning. Well its the next evening and the bags are still not picked up guess I will take care of that for the company I paid as well. In a nutshell if you don't have a leave blower of your own and don't want to have to get rid of trash out of your driveway look elsewhere! read more

I hired Ernest to clean my gutters and drain pipes. The morning was kind of cold so he delayed his appointment by a couple of hours. I told him about water running down the side of my house and he took several pictures to show me what could be the cause of the problem. I have also hired him to clean my windows and lights in which he has done a great job, especially since my foyer light is two stories high. His prices are reasonable, he does a great job, and he is on time. What more could you ask for? read more

Had all his equipment and did an exceptionally clean neat job. No mess and was very careful of plants and windows etc. Area looks great and is very clean. Not once, but twice Ernest and his crew did not show up to clean my gutters. Ernest didn't even have the courtesy to call to say that they were not coming. After the second instance of being stood up, Ernest called me later in the evening (after I had left a couple of voice mails earlier in the day) to try and schedule another appointment. He was very rude on the phone telling me how "I don't understand" how busy they are and that he has no idea when his crew can get to a scheduled site. He's right, I don't understand how he's running his business and how you don't even have the common courtesy to call a client saying that you will not be able to make an appointment. I contacted Ernest regarding having my gutters and windows cleaned. He was nice enough on the phone and we made an appointment for 3 weeks out. The day before the appt, I called and left a voicemail to confirm the appt. I never received a call back. The next morning, I called again, and Ernest answered. He said he did not have my appt in his schedule. He said that they were no longer washing windows due to the low temps (mid-Novemeber). I asked him why they wouldn't tell me that when I scheduled the window washing for mid-Nov. He started getting so beligerent on the phone, yelling that he couldn't predict the weather - it is seasonable temps now, not overly cold, and is actually a beautiful day to be outside! He did say they could still do my gutters that day and would send someone between 12-1pm. At 1:30, no one was here so I called again. He started yelling at me that they had been here and they couldn't do the gutters because they were frozen. I told him I had been here all morning and no one from his company ever came. He again started yelling at me, telling me that he's explaining to me why he can't do the job. In the end, I told him it was better that I wasn't using his company and that I would find someone else. Do not hire Ernest Windows and Gutters to clean anything. The owner is a complete - well I will leave out labels here but let's just say he is NOT customer service friendly. We had our gutters clean by them and the clean up job was horrible. Mess all over the driveway and planting beds. I called to tell the owner and he ended up yelling at me and getting into an argument. He kept calling my house trying to engage in more yelling and I finally told him to stop calling me or else I was going to call the police for harassment. Do yourself a favor and hire another company that is willing to do the job correctly. read more

This company is absolutely horrible and I would not recommend them to anyone. I do not even know where to begin addressing my dissatisfaction. Two window washers arrived at my home to clean my windows. I had no idea, at the time, that they would cause approximately $500 in damages to the screens that they had to remove. They were not even remotely careful, damaging at least 11 of my screens, causing them to need replacing. They left tears and holes, and many screens were not put back on the proper windows. When we called the company, we met with a very angry response, where the owner insisted that his employees did nothing wrong and claimed that the damage was already there. I promise you, it was not and he was not present on the job, nor did he speak with them about the situation. He would occasionally entertain the possibility that we were correct, only to end up right back where we started, with it being "our fault." The conversation was very circular and bizarre. He offered a $40, which is an insult. I cannot change the experience, but I will let everyone know that this is a prime example of how not to do business and to stay far away from Ernest Windows. read more

I posted a positive review on 7/11/19. The very day I posted it my husband had me look at the windows to show me windows in the family room and one in the kitchen were scratched. Something you would only notice in the morning sun. I did not go out and inspect the work immediately after it was done because we have not had problems in the past. I contacted Ernest right away, he sent Robert out to inspect the windows and he agreed they were scratched. A follow up with Ernest upon that conversation he then sent the window washer out to inspect and he agreed they were scratched. Ernest said that the scratches could be buffed out and we agreed to let him try. That was supposed to be done on a Sat, but no one showed up. There have been phone calls and emails to confirm all this. We have had to get a quote to replace the glass on the 5 windows. Ernest asked that we email the quote (sent Aug 3) and we have not heard from him since. He never came out himself to look at the windows and doesn't seem to want to assume any responsibility for what has happened. We have now had to contact our insurance company. I regret giving a good review, I should have gone out and inspected all the work that was done first. Seems setting up appts and cashing your check are done with no problem, if there are issues then there is no response or responsibility taken. Take that into consideration before you schedule. I would be happy to correct this review if he does the right thing and pays for the repairs needed. In the past we had no problems, had I known this is how the business is run I would not have scheduled. read more
