Bread served while your order is prepped. Great marinara for dipping.

I stumbled on a "Be Our Guest" deal and jumped on it even though the restaurant is a good distance from us. Fortunately, our grandson had a soccer game in LaGrange and that put us right where we needed to be. First impression? Waite staff was wearing white shirts and black slacks. This ain't Fazoli's. Our waiter, Robert, took our drink order and brought us freshly backed cheese bread served with a side of marinara. The bread was excellent (almost too good) and the marinara was full flavored without the heavy sweetness so many sauces rely on. My wife ordered cheese ravioli and I went with an Italian meatball calzone. Both dishes were beautifully plated. The Stromboli was almost intimidating, so I immediately split it in two knowing half was heading home. My wife couldn't finish her serving of ravioli. The ravioli was well filled and the sauce was outstanding. My Stromboli was heavy on the melted cheese to the point it was difficult to find the meatballs. But what really stood out, aside from flavor and sauce (on the side) was the dough. Light, just the right amount of crisp without reminding you of a burnt pizza crust. Service was outstanding. Robert was attentive without being obtrusive. Pricing is reasonable, with a nice mix of prices for any budget. Palermo's is upscale dining at modest prices and well worth a visit.

Fried Ravioli!!! Not cheese Ravioli dinner.

I came in to place an order to go. I ordered 2 Raviolis with cheese. I should not have to check an order before I leave when I am in the restaurant waiting for over 30 mins. I got home & got 2 orders of fried ravioli. I called to speak to a supervisor & was told there was no one there. I got the name of the owner Felipe. The lady who answered the phone looked up my order & told me they "don't have ravioli" . I told her you do it's on your menu under dinners. She then told me you ordered 2 cheese ravioli & I said yes & she said that's what you got. I told her I ordered cheese Raviolis not fried. She then said we don't sell cheese raviolis. So she apparently looked at dinner menu & said we don't have ravioli on the menu it's "we have baked" ravioli. I'm Italian I know the difference between ravioli & fried! This is not the first or 2nd time my order has been wrong. For the price they charge for meals they should get it correct. She then told me that I could come back & they will correct the order. So my children can wait over an hour for me to drive out there & get another order. Apparently she doesn't have kids. Their food is sub par as well. We will for sure not be a returning customer.

Palermo's seems to get better each time we go back. The menu was updated tonight which forced me to get something different...kinda. Tonight I had the Veal Parmigiana and added eggplant, it was amazing. I haven't had anything here that I haven't completely enjoyed and recommend this place to anyone to try.

Food was so yummy! Loved the bread they bring out before the meal. No one mentioned it but there is oil on the table to use for the bread and it is delicious. I had the chicken Alfredo and I loved it! Can't wait to go back.

Got off to a great start when the teenager hostess was visibly annoyed when we requested to not sit at the 2top right in front of the door in February. After explaining "well you're gonna have to wait I guess," which we were happy to do, we were seated next to a family of 4 at a 6-top, so grateful we weren't asking for any special treatment. As we expressed our thanks, not another word was heard from our hostess. No water, no bread service.. Not necessarily the restaurant's fault, but kids on tablets at full volume and speaker phone calls - societal point, but very apparent with this restaurant's very open layout, as was the cold breeze every time someone opened the front door. We waited for about 20 minutes for our very busy waitress to greet us. She was very apologetic about our wait and took drink and appetizer order, said she'd bring water and bread. This was at 6:40 (evidenced by receipt). She was the only one we saw working tables, this place has about 15 total. The hostess had seated a few more tables, but we didn't see her helping at all - 10 minutes here come drinks- (waitress: "sorry, water/bread, so sorry). 10 more minutes - artichoke dip! And we got to place our order! Dip was pretty good- but half the toast was unbuttered, intentional, or foreshadowing? The people behind us that were sitting with ToGo boxes since we arrive appear to be paying. They were waiting the whole time, and our waitress appeared to be sorting out some issue with the back. A little over 1hr after our arrival, 7:24 (I looked) - finally get our food, Stromboli and a margarita pizza. But still no water (waitress, "my bad I forgot"). The pizza is a sad mess of browned sauce and not all the slices have cheese and basil- a single slice is all it takes to know it's not worth trying any more or taking home. The Stromboli crust is done nicely, golden brown, but the filling is ice cold- like the salami, pepperoni, sauce and sausage was right out the freezer and barely thawed by the time the crust was done in the oven. The cheese was barely melted and could still see the individual shreds clumped together. I briefly considered take home- very briefly. About 5 more minutes here comes the water, which was just long enough for us to make the unfortunate discoveries described above for us to make our final requests of the evening, to settle up and speak to the owner. Our very exasperated waitress' voice is cracking as we're describing the food issue. She is very apologetic and trying to explain. We tell her that we have recognized she is running around. She was trying to offer fixing it, but this meal and experience was beyond repair. We could tell that this waitress was concerned this coming back on her. Our request to speak to the owner was less about the food and more to ensure this waitress was recognized and not reprimanded. We requested to speak with the owner, Carlos, who we were told was in the kitchen. He however chose not to come to speak with us but another identifying as a manager does. We had seen her a few times at the other tables. But not as much as I would presume a front house manager to be if their staff is running around and things are that delayed. She is verbally apologetic, but proceeds to excuse the hostess as "the youngest one here," or that the "kitchen staff is new." - offered no accountability- and no reason why the owner wasn't standing there (at this point I saw no table without food) We understand that restaurants are busy and there can be delays, but this was self-generated chaos from poor leadership, resulting in poor service, bad food, and a sour experience - I absolutely love Stromboli, but I don't think I could be convinced to give this place another shot.

The food is delicious I love coming here when I'm craving pasta and the service and people are great they get the food out fast, have great attitude, and are really good at refilling refreshments and bringing out more bread. The ambiance of the place is great but I do wish the had booths because the chairs do make a very loud noise when pushing them in or scooting them out and I think booths are more comfortable but overall I love this place and go back as much as I can!

The two metal pieces before I tossed the pizza! Still no manager!‍‍

December the 10th we ordered a pizza. I ate one piece and then started a second piece and found what appears to be a piece of stainless steel from a scrub pad sticking out of the pizza crust. I got another piece and half way through I felt something in my mouth. It was another steel scrub piece. I was done at that point. Threw the pizza away and tried for two days to talk to a manager. Evidently he is never there so I'm making this review to warn people!!

It was not my cup of tea. The sauce had real tomato flavor in excess for me. My wife liked it. The service was great. Liked the decor.

The food is only so-so. The pizza is their best dish and I do not qualify that as "Italian". The service is good and the ambiance is nice.

Madeleine's is not a wine tasting bar but a restaurant with an extensive wine list (for this small town, at least). They have a fairly extensive food menu as well as many unique wines on their list. They also serve beer, if that's your thing. One of the owners seated us and let us know that we could sample any of the wines with which we were unfamiliar before ordering a full glass. Although we had not planned to eat there as it was 3pm, our husbands popped in, so we ended up with an order of meatballs too. We absolutely loved them! They had a very bright flavor with a hint of some sort of spice in the sauce, which was amazing. We plan to come back for an actual dinner at some point soon as the food that we had was exceptional. The menu is extensive; the ambience is nice; and, the service was excellent. A bit of backstory for you -- the owners had moved from New York back to Kentucky after many years in the high-end restaurant business in New York City. The "Madeline" in the name of the restaurant is not the name of either owner; it's the name of one of the owner's mothers -- traditionally done in the restaurant business for good luck!

Additionally, the back deck is perfect. Can't wait to go back and sit, sipping cocktails and nibbling snacks...when it isn't the temperature of hell outside. Service/staff was friendly and knew the menu well. Literally everything on the menu is recommended, and I don't think she was fibbing about it all being good. We had cocktails (blackberry bourbon ice tea and white sangria), apps (meatballs and mushroom dip), an amazing entree (baked cod over panzanella salad), and dessert (affogato with chocolate syrup). Every bite was fantastic. I left completely satisfied without being over-full. Can't wait to return with friends!
