Do not tow your car to this place. I was forced to pay $2,000 in cash for the towing fee and several days of storage after my car sat in their lot. The entire place reeks of cigarette smoke, and the staff smokes right in front of you. When I decided to tow my car back home, Tammy made the process incredibly difficult. She kept delaying the pickup time from 10 AM to 2:30 PM, so I finally hired my own tow truck. Even then, they intentionally stalled by taking more than 30 minutes to move the two cars blocking mine. The staff at Ernie's always kept me informed on the progress from beginning to end on what was going on and what stage the car was in. They were patient and understanding and really make you feel like they genuinely care. They fought for me with the parts dealer and even searched other avenues for parts I needed. One day I stopped by Ernie's to get an estimate for some scratches on my daughters car, so this gentlemen comes out to take a look at it. He assessed the scratches and keep in mind I never had been to this place ever.. tells me that he would take care of the scratches, so I asked how much? Honestly his answer just baffled the hell out of me. He replied no charge! you heard me right no charge(because they were small) . So he told me to bring the car in during the week, which I did. Turns out the guy turned out to be Ernie the (Owner). The day I went Ernie wasn't there but his son Anthony was and was aware of me bringing the vehicle in. I cannot go any higher than five stars and if I could, I would! Today I had a terrible situation with the front bumper of my car and I stopped in to Ernie's as I was literally just driving by. When I went in and explained what had happened to a young gentleman named Anthony, he came out and looked at my car and said, "don't worry, we can fix this, it's not as bad as it looks. " He then goes in and speaks to Ernie who comes out and says "open the hood ". He then calls one of his mechanics to come out and fix the bumper right then and there in front of me. Within five minutes they had it fixed almost as good as new and when I asked how much, Ernie told me no charge, don't worry about it. I was absolutely flabbergasted and was insisting on paying them for their time and service. Ernie was equally as adamant that it was his pleasure and not to worry about it. Great Work by Ernie's Auto Body! I was out of state and got rear ended by an Allstate customer. I mistakenly used Allstate's app to file my claim (Don't file a claim on the app). I did not approve of the Allstate quote, but Allstate still mailed me a small dollar check, and closed the claim. I was on the road, and when I got to New York, I contacted several body shops that basically did not want to deal with the Allstate issue. I then contacted Anthony, Tammy, and Ernie at Ernie's Auto Body. All three were great. Ernie's was able to reopen the claim with Allstate. They discovered additional damage, and worked with an actual human Allstate adjuster to cover the correct repair costs/bill. They also arranged for a rental car while mine was in the shop. I ended up with no out-of-pocket expenses. Paint job looks great, and car actually looks better than when I first bought it! Thanks Again! read more

I have not had the chance to get my car repaired at Ernie's, however my car was towed to their shop after an accident. It was stored there until the insurance appraiser could take a look at it. Meanwhile I needed my EZPass and other important belongings. I sent an email on Friday night to Tammy their Admin, and to my pleasant surprise she accommodated my request, and also replied back to my emails over the weekend which was unexpected and a very pleasant surprise. But beyond the great treatment of the staff, I was even more impressed by how unbelievably amazing the car looked when they were done with it. I did a double take because if I didn't know better, I'd say they swapped out my car with a brand new one! She sparkles and shines like she just rolled out of the show room. I normally don't write reviews, but I had to write one for Ernie's Auto Body. While swinging out of my driveway I grazed the passenger side of my car. This was the first time I had something happen to my car and I was nervous about taking it to a body shop, the cost, and then having to find one where you felt like you can trust the folks there. While in Levittown, my fiancée told me about Ernie's and I wrote them a message on Yelp. Someone (Tammy) responded right away. I was already amazed. I showed up on Monday and Ernie took a look and gave me a quote. I felt so safe and at ease that I decided to leave the car there and take an Uber home (I live in Queens). By Friday, my car was ready to go and looked like nothing happened. I was also impressed with the fact that I showed up and my car was washed, vacuumed and well taken care of. Beware, this auto body shop holds your vehicle hostage until he receives all payments from the insurance company, which ends up costing the customer more money due to paying for a rental car. According to other body shops, once there is a written agreement of payment between the insurance company and the auto body shop, then the vehicle owner is not responsible for payment. Beware, this auto body shop begins the auto body work before receiving a written agreement from the insurance company, so if the insurance adjuster gives a verbal price and the written covering cost from the insurance is lower, then according Ernie the vehicle owner is responsible for paying the difference. Why would an auto body business start expensive work before receiving a written agreement from the insurance company? The answer is that Ernie is looking to take advantage and rip people off to make more money. Beware, the owner takes advantage of senior citizens. Beware, the owner does not return or answer phone calls when there is a problem. Beware, do not use this auto body shop. read more
