This is one of my go to when it comes to food trucks in Austin. I love that They have ample free parking. Right now they have seven trucks which are usually open at the same time. It's pretty well lit and they play good music (old school). The only thing I would say is they need to work on updating the heaters and bathrooms. Nice food truck park in the western part of Austin! They have about 6-10 food trucks in the lot ranging from burgers, to Thai, to tacos and even Venezuelan food. I ordered a veggie taco from Have a Taco and then got some arepas from Manejar the Venezuelan truck. Food was made to order, fresh and delicious! We saw a cone truck, empanadas, tacos/burritos, pizza/pasta, Louisiana Cajun, Thai, and gelato as some options here. Really cool concept of a food truck park. Several different food trucks located here at a time with a variety of options and types of foods available. My family and I tried almost every food truck with at least one order from each truck. Food was okay, nothing outstanding. The park/area itself is a bit run down and could be better maintained for cleanliness. But they do strive to accommodate for dogs and dog-friendliness, which is a plus in my book. As for the food trucks it probably depends on how well they are doing. But it looks like a few of them are just parked here for months on end. Super cute food truck park - pretty much embodies all of Austin right here. The trucks are generally pretty busy around mealtimes so I would suggest ordering ahead if you don't want to wait. I wanted to get Thai food but the line was really long so I got from Cannone's instead. I got the #3 on the foccacia menu - it had grilled asparagus, grilled zucchini, tomatoes and cheese, which doesn't sound that appetizing but it was delicious! Perfect for any vegetarian!! Just happened to be scrolling through Instagram and saw the The Picnic food truck park. Decided today was a good day to check it out. There's about 7 or 8 different food trucks. Maybe more, I didn't really count. They're all in a circle formation and inside the circle are picnic tables. There's even a dog treat food truck. As Austin probably has more dog parks then kid parks. Dogs are very much accepted at most restaurants that have outdoor seating. This food truck park has a parking lot, bathrooms. You do need a key to use the bathroom, and you can get it from any of the food truck employees. I got a taco from one of the food trucks. Forgot the name. It was good. Nothing special. I'll probably try a different one next time read more

I like the overall concept of having multiple food trucks in the one place, but when we came to dine here, most of the trucks were closed even after we double checked the hours of the businesses. I'm not sure if it was a fluke, but we only found 1 truck open so that was our only option. Perfect place if your group has different tastes in mind for a lunch/snack break! There's plenty of parking in the neighboring lot, and tons of picnic tables in the middle of the hub. I wasn't too hungry so I ended up just getting some Spring Rolls and Egg Rolls from the Thai Truck. Spring Rolls (2pc - $4.00): Super fresh ingredients, which I wasn't expecting coming from a truck. Peanut Sauce is a bit more runny than I was used to, but was still delicious. Egg Rolls (4pc - $4.00): Also super delicious! Really crunchy exterior, and great veggie combo filling. I also had a bite of my sister's Pad Kee Mao and it was very flavorful. Also had a sip of the Thai Tea, but it was just OK - felt like it lacked some umph that I've had before at other Thai restaurants. The picnic is a neat spot to hang out and explore a few food trucks with friends in Austin, TX. I stopped by on a Friday night and ended up meeting another group of friends there -- anyone who's gone out on a Friday night knows it's next to impossible to find a last minute table for 10 at a restaurant, but it was really doable to find a table for our group while we were at The Picnic. It's never really empty until the trucks close down for the day, but usually you can time it so you can jump into a table as another group is leaving. The selection of food trucks is decent, but you'll probably notice one or two food trucks get most of the attention (we all went to Coat & Thai). The only real downside is that since everyone is left to bus their own table, you might end up at a relatively messy table, but this is mostly resolved by just grabbing an extra napkin or two to wipe down your area. Oh also! They have a great covered seating area with picnic tables, and have some exceptionaly powerful overhead fans in that area. This is awesome for staying cool in the Texas heat, but can get annoying if you're trying to eat/ make sure your hair is styled lol. Overall, I'd recommend checking out The Picnic! You should be able to find a good food truck option for most of your party and it's great that you'll likely be able to find a table to sit together! read more

I asked our friends who've lived here for 7 years to get me the best food truck scene and by golly, they just about did it with this place! Loved the options of food as well as gelato. Very fast and delicious options. Bathroom right there and plenty of seating. There was also a couple of other trucks and trailers for gifts as well as meats and sauces. I love this place! Although I went in the absolute worst time (noon, where the heat really gets to you) there were a lot of tables that were covered either by a tree or the giant roof canopy! There is a lot to choose from here. I went with the gumbo from the creole place and it was a very different gumbo from anything that I have ever had: it was watery but the broth was absolutely amazing! I also got these little fried cheese sticks from the brazilian place and the dipping sauce that they give you is utterly amazing.
