Taking advantage of local folks for profit is the ertle way in my opinion. I attempted to "shop local" when making a large purchase for two atvs for my kids. Right from the start I knew something was wrong. This local dealership had the MSRP listing for $100 higher than the actual manufacturer Kawasaki. They also had it $100-$200 higher than every single competing Kawasaki dealership within a 200 mile radius. my assumption was that when I was negotiating with them on the purchase when I brought it to their attention that their price was actually higher than the manufacturers suggested price and higher than all of their competitors, they would adjust their pricing, boy was I wrong. That was the beginning of a journey that is worse than the craziest used car salesman story or scene from a movie that you've ever seen. When you picture sleazy salesman the people that work here in my opinion would be the poster people for that description. They told me that I was wrong about the MSRP and that the other dealerships were lying and that even Kawasaki that I was looking at the wrong website because the MSRP is what they had it listed as. after we finally agreed that they had the MSRP listed incorrectly I asked them how much it would be to purchase two machines at the actual MSRP with the out the door pricing including tax and title work. The quote they gave me was actually five times the actual price of the taxes and title work. They quoted me an additional almost $1400 (half the price of the atv) each in "fees". I called other dealerships and shared this information and was told by three other area dealerships that this place is a known scam shop. While I understand there are taxes and title registration and things like that the other dealerships costs were hundreds thousands of dollars per machine. I informed them that I would not be purchasing from them because they were being dishonest and I hung up the phone. The next day one of their Managers called me in a combative tone about the review that I left for them on Facebook. In my review I posted images of the registered national MSRP and their advertisement MSRP. I spoke factually in articulately about the situation and what other customers that the $100 MSRP difference it's just the beginning of a long path of being scammed In my opinion. This man once again tried to tell me that I was wrong he told me that he was looking at the Kawasaki website and at the MSRP was $2999. While I was on the phone with him I went to the Kawasaki website Took a screenshot of the $2899 price and offer to send it to him to which she responded he didn't need to see it because he was looking at it. The level of dishonesty is such that even when you are actually staring at the website they will still deny what you are looking at. His attempt was to argue me out of posting that review he wanted it taken down and he was argumentative and combative. I never left my phone number for them they actually looked up and somehow found my work phone number and called me at work to argue with me about my review. Anyone who's reading this review should avoid this place like the plague in my opinion. The Ertle's have a history in this town of doing wrong by the people. They left over $100,000 city tax bill on the Fernwood property, if you look at the reviews from the Subaru dealership and other places they have been involved with including restaurants and hotels it's a myriad of terrible reviews. And the worst of all one of them is running for state representative and he is about as sharp as a bag of stones and wants to use a public office to promote his own business ventures in this small town. read more
