Came for happy hour from 4 to 7 PM with six dollar tap beers and appetizers for seven dollars. Appetizers were pretty small, but someone reasonable. Parking in this area is really tough, I do not recommend valet because it's really expensive. You kinda have to just circle around until you find a spot. But it is very roomy inside and has a lot of bar seating. Nice ambience with affordable drinks and food. I have always really liked the empanadas and the big beef rib, which used to have a fair and consistent size for the price. However, the size has now been reduced significantly, and keeping the same price does not seem fair. If the empanada is going to be reduced to about a quarter of its original size, the price should be adjusted accordingly. The flavor is still good, just much smaller now. We had a Club Colombia beer and had 3 mini buñuelos on the house. We ordered "La Picada" para 4: it is basically a shared party platter served on a meter long wood board. Comes with Galbi (Korean BBQ Short Ribs), Colombian Chicharrón, Colombian Chorizo, Morcilla (Colombian Blood Sausage), Whole Chicken Wings, Sweet Plantain, Street Corn, Papa Criolla (Colombian Native Potatoes), Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Grilled Onions, Fresh Pineapple & Arepas. Boy that was enough for the three of us! We liked everything, specially we had as dipping sauce "ají" and it was great. My fav was the chicharrón and papa criolla. I mean the short ribs were flavorful just like everything else, but I haven't had those potatoes in so long that was awesome. We had the pleasure to meet and chat with Kyu Min Lee (aka OG Chino) and he was tired but more than gracious to give us some time and even treat us desert! Went for brunch the other day, and had been wanting to go for a while, especially on a weekend when Psycho Les or Fatlip were going to be spinning. This was not that day but the music was still great. . Started off with a carafe of Maracuya mimosa for the take, and it did not disappoint. We grabbed a could empenadas to try and they were actually very tasty, nice crunch on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. Plus different sauces to dip them in. Just a nice bite. For entrees, we tried a could to get a good variety of the brunch menu. First, let me say, presentation on and the entrees was great. The chilaquiles came with a nice amount of pork belly on top (you can choose your own protein or veggies), crispy on the outside, though a lot of day on them also. Could have been rendered down a little more. The chips also became soggy fairly quickly from the aji Verde over the top. Made many chips wet and sloppy which didn't help with each bite. The loco movie, also looked amazing, but the burger patties were overcooked, and two people got that duish and had the same complaint. The coconut white rice was a different spin to the standard loco moco rice though. As for the rice con pollo, again, looked great in presentation, and there was an interesting paying with the tomato sauce with the coconut white rice. A little sweet and a little acid. Initially didn't know how much I lived it but it grew on me. The shredded chicken was perfect for the dish also. Overall, love the ambiance and music, two turntables and hip hop for brunch. Food looked amazing but execution in flavors and the overcooked burger patties really put a damper on things, along with the soggy tortilla chips in the chilaquiles. If I went back for brunch, would definitely get another carafe (each person probably got two glasses of mimosa from it) and try something from their regular menu (you can order from the brunch menu or regular menu on the weekend). read more

Been here a few times before so I'm sad to have had a disappointing experience. QR code on table so I ordered using the online menu, octopus with potato and the corn. I wanted the salad but it wasn't on the menu anymore and the waitress said it's been removed. No salad? On the menu it says the octopus had two options for the potato side but she didn't ask me and I figured either was fine. Food comes out, no potato with the octopus. I asked about it and I showed her the online menu and she said she would go check. She said she'll see what she can do, and I ate while I had. I was wondering what she was doing, and I ended up finishing all the food I had and then she came by and asked me confirming I expected potato, which was odd, I said yes, she apologized again and that was it. I asked for the check, paid and left. They did not even offer some small substitution or even a token 10% discount or anything at all, and I left hungry since I thought I would be getting a boiled potato, or at least the other potato side. Waitress was nice but was surprised how this was handled. I still left a 20% tip and then felt stupid about it later. I had been recommending this place to friends but no more. They started us off with some cheese balls I'm assuming and they tasted really great. At first we were there to catch up and have a drink but we were both kinda hungry so we decided to order the steak al caballo. We both like the meat medium rare and it was the best decision. I kid you not, I didn't even have to use a knife to cut this meat. It just was cooked so amazingly. The plate also comes with a small bowl of salsa, an egg (that the al caballo), some pickled onions, tomatoes and rice. The rice was just perfect. Our server Juan was so nice and was very attentive. Absolutely not worth the money or trek to K-town. Came in last Friday with a friend about 20 minutes earlier than our reservation time and a woman, either the manager or owner, seated us immediately. While a busser dropped off water, plates, and cutlery within a few minutes of us being seated, we weren't given service until after the time of our reservation, about 8 PM. We placed our drink and food orders and waited almost 20 minutes until we received either. The aguardiente shots were fine, but my drink--the coco loco--was not. It was spirit forward to the point of tartness. I sent it back and asked for a margarita instead. My friend's, la mula, was okay, but not worth almost $20. Maybe ten or so minutes later, the So-Cal salad we ordered--really just everything they have on the line dumped into a bowl--came out. We requested grilled chicken be added to it and asked for it with ají instead of ranch, but the latter seemed to be missing. In lieu of it, they gave us a few plastic condiment cups of a clear, yellowed sauce and pico de gallo that was mostly grey cilantro and onions, and the world's tiniest side of pinto beans. None of these toppings tasted like much but I guessed they were dairy free and added them to the salad anyway. The grilled chicken was a dry stringy butterflied chicken breast that tasted like it been reheated. These accouterments did little to elevate the base of half-yellowed spring greens, shredded carrots out of a bag, half an avocado, and surface-charred raw corn kernels. Halfway through our salad, the ceviche arrived. We requested ají for the salad again and were assured it'd be brought out shortly. It never was. Likely out of caution, the kitchen over-marinated the halibut in lime juice, causing it to sour and toughen. It, and a really unpleasant mix of red bell pepper, Asian pear, and chopped shrimp arrived in a small, creamy puddle of what looked like a coconut marinade. I have never sent a dish back, but had to because it was actually inedible. Now over an hour into dinner, we'd only seen the waiter twice. He finally arrived with the margarita to replace my first drink, and I told him there was something outrageously wrong with the fish and asked that it be sent back. He took it, asked whether we wanted anything else, then walked off. It took one sip of my margarita for me to realize it was a wine margarita... could this place do anything right? It took forever to get his attention again, at which point I gestured that I was ready for the check. To my disappointment, the ceviche was still present on the bill, as was the first drink I ordered. While I get being charged for the drink--I'd ultimately received one and sent it back because I disliked it--the ceviche was the restaurant's mistake. I'd eaten less than a quarter of the ceviche. I figured getting the manager's attention would take a while, and I had evening plans, so we ate it and paid. I wish we hadn't. In short, service here is SLOW, servers are forgetful and out of reach, and food is far beyond par. What a hideous representation of Columbian food. Though opportune given the very convenient and visible corner location, no attempt should be made to engage in fusion with the Korean food the area is known for. Such a disgusting letdown. read more

I ordered an oblea for dessert, waited like 15 minutes, and they brought me a completely different dessert, some gyoza-empanada situation. At that point, we were literally one of two tables there. A while later, I walked out to grab boba across the street and when I came back, the oblea had magically appeared on the table, free of charge, which I guess was a nice gesture, but also like... why did that have to be so complicated for something that takes two seconds to prep? The street corn was so salty that I could barely finish it. The arepas, sweet plantains, and papas criollas did not seem to have a flavor. The coco loco is a light and refreshing coconut based drink. The sancho Reyes is basically a mango margarita with tajin and is delicious. Cool Colombian/Korean fusion restaurant in Koreatown. Came here for dinner with a friend on a Friday night around 7:30pm and there wasn't a wait. We split a platter as well as two empanadas (one beef, one kimchi) and that was a good amount of food. Also tried the mango smoothie with regular milk - that was a bit watery but I liked the taste. The platter came with beans and rice as well as various meats. The best one was the galbi in my opinion. The empanadas came out piping hot and could easily be split. I preferred the beef over the kimchi. There was a little hiccup where we asked for a box for our empanadas but they accidentally threw it away. Restrooms are available. Credit cards accepted. They are located in a plaza that has several other great restaurants. They do have valet parking, meters that surround building, street parking (but it is LA so you may have to a circle a few times). The place itself looks Spanish influence with a cute water fountain, floor to ceiling open air windows, perfect for sunny weather. Our server was great and recommended the Picada for our table as we were 7 people total. It was complete with short ribs, chicharron, chorizo, platano, arepas...a little bit of everything. I order a beer and 15 minutes later no beer. I reminded him my beer was missing. Another couple sat to the table next to us and they got their main dish before us! When I finally called the server to place my main dish, I reminded him of my beer. We didn't get our main dish until 2:55 ish. Our mood had changed and I was annoyed already. I order their spicy chicken and waffle. My wife is from El Salvador and she loves plantains. The plantains in the bandeja were HARD which means they were old. This also shows that their meats have been old since they were tough to chew on. My wife has never NOT eaten plantains. This really shows how bad the food was. My chicken and waffle was also sub par. The waffle was dry and it crumbled. The chicken had several parts and some were gray and others were almost white. Some parts were chewy and others were stretchy. Again, not a sign of fresh food. Compare that to raising canes, Jesus Christ no comparison. I will post photos and they look good at first because I have a new iPhone and that's what happens, but zoom in into the chicharron and sausages as well as the plantains and you can see they are not fresh. My chicken also looks like it includes several types of meat. During this whole time the server NEVER came by to ask if we wanted more drinks and or how the food was. I was so pissed off by this time because my wife was excited about this place. I didn't even finish the chicken and I was very hungry. I will probably never return. They did give us some dessert for free because of the long wait by they didn't comp anything. It was also way too late for that. The dessert wasn't even that good too lol. It was some white thin waffle with caramel. So the 18% charge is for the DJ or what? Because the service was horrible. Coming back to the table and ask them if they want more drinks is BASIC, and they couldn't even do that.
