Casual spot, had a great beer menu, and of course good lounge area with sports focus. My girlfriend and I came here during since we were in the area and were craving a beer/bar food... it was also the NFL playoffs and the Seattle Seahawks were playing so there was to no surprise a lot of people there to watch the game. Luckily their host found some stools for us by a leader/small table but ended being just fine. Given the high capacity/ NFL playoffs vibes I was just grateful to get a spot to sit and eat, plus we had a great view of the TV/game. I had myself a nice cheese burger which if i remember correctly had some kimchi in it which i loved. We had some of their I also had A LOT of beer lol. I tried a couple different crafts one of which being peanutter'd flavor. It was a darker boozy brew which I enjoyed. It not exactly a garden, or too glamorous, but in its own right was cozy, well kept, and laid back spot in the middle of Ktown which ended up being just right for us to unwind and get some damn good food. We didn't end up staying for the whole game but did enjoy the friendly sports environment and would come back to try more for a big game if in the area. Caught up with a group of friends here late one night, and thankfully the kitchen was open late! We arrived around 10:30PM on a Saturday and they weren't phased when we put in a large food order. Most of the table went for the Chosun Burger with spam and kimchi, but I opted for the German Burger topped with a bratwurst and sauerkraut. No regrets. It was incredibly satisfying at the end of the day, and honestly a great deal since it comes with fries! I also tried the drunk bier chicken and kimchi pancakes, plus the matcha highball, which were all great. We had the same issue many have reported. I went here last night. I didn't even get to try the food. I ordered a beer. The waiter asked if we wanted to order but we needed a minute. Then he (a man with short, curly hair mentioned in the other reviews) and the other woman continued to ignore us for the rest of our stay. We tried making subtle eye contact, waving, they ignored us from like two feet away. Finally, about 20 or more minutes later, when my beer was done, I said "hi can we order" loudly when he was close enough. He put a one minute finger in my face without looking our way. Then was gone for another five minutes. When he came back we just asked for the check. My friend said she no longer felt comfortable ordering and we just left. I'm black and she's white. As the other people with bad experiences have been people of color, I felt it was worth mentioning so you can be aware. I'll certainly never return. read more

Wings, fries and sausage platter were pretty damn good, and because of the playoff game, servers were giving out free shots most of the night. What a cool spot for drinks and UFC (I'm sure other events as well). I went in on a fight night and grabbed a seat at the bar. I ended up making friends with the others in the bar area and clicked up to enjoy the fights. That right there tells you the vibes of this place. It's not as big as it appears outside but all the better inside. Staff were super friendly and quick on the orders. Good beers on tap. Nice little food menu with fusion items. We came early and were able to walk in but they also take reservations and did not have much walk in availability. The have a ton of large TV screens and blast the volume so you don't miss any of the fights. There's a great selection of drinks and food as well beyond your standard bar burgers. If I could give zero stars I would . One of the worst experiences I have ever had at any bar or restaurant. Our large group came to Biergarten in Koreatown on 11/20 around 10:30 PM for a birthday celebration, spent good money, and still ended up being treated with absolute disrespect. The male bartender working that night (dark shirt, curly mullet haircut) acted annoyed by us from the moment we walked in. We were practically the only customers there except for his Caucasian friends, who he kept going over to sit with. Every time he sat with them, they stared, pointed, and laughed in our direction. Whether they realize it or not, it felt humiliating, targeted, and completely inappropriate. As a group of mostly Latino customers, the way we were treated came across as stereotyping and blatant bias. His attitude was rude, cold, and condescending the entire time. Instead of treating us like paying customers, he acted as if we were beneath him. And despite our group spending a significant amount of money at that business, he still had the nerve to question whether we paid our tab and then overcharged us. It was insulting and completely unprofessional. I have never left a birthday celebration early because of a bartender's behavior, but this experience was so uncomfortable that we walked out. The energy in that place was hostile, judgmental, and unwelcoming. I strongly caution others, especially Latinos, to think twice before supporting this business. No one deserves to be treated like this when all they are doing is spending their hard-earned money and trying to enjoy their night. we will never return, and I will caution others in the community to never patronize this business . read more

Eating here just made me sad. Here's what happens. You walk into a dank room, there's a bar area, but half of it is covered in junk (the establishment's photos are extremely aspirational) and has no seats. The bartender hands you a dirty menu. The menu descriptions seem okay, you order, and are given an unfortunate sandwich, so you eat the fries that come with it because those are at least good, then you pick at the sandwich because the hunger has not been sated by the fries. You realize you should have sent it back and left, you chalk your error up to hunger and convenience, so you get your bill, and after your meal + one beer + tax and tip, end up spending roughly $40 for the worst meal you've ever had in your life. Hands down, one of my favorite spots in Koreatown! They get super busy when there's a sports event, so keep that in mind. 5 stars for the consistency of delicious eats and friendly, fast service. Some of my favorite dishes (not all are offered during sports events, bummer, but it's probably for crowd control, and to keep quality service) - mushroom quesadilla, kimchi fried rice, army soup, kimchi pancakes, and churros... basically, everything is delicious. Came here to watch the lakers and nuggets game with a few college friends during my LA trip before I headed down to SD. We put our names down a day before and once we got there, they said the place was booked out! We sat in the corner so it was slightly difficult to wave down service, but the vibes inside were great. Everyone cheering for the Lakers, although they lost. I could feel the energy as soon as I walked in. The nachos were honestly mid but their drunken chicken (not pictured) was amazing and so juicy! My husband picked Biergarten for his birthday dinner, he was craving German brats with a twist and this place delivered! We ordered a little bit of everything and it was perfect for sharing. The Korean fried chicken and fried rice was insanely good. We also had the peanut butter sliders, wurst platter, curry wurst, and the pretzel. Everyone was happy. Looked up somewhere to watch Sunday night football and this place popped up! Perfect! We were looking for a place with Korean food + football. Although it's not traditional Korean food, totally cool place! As soon as we walked in, the place was packed! We were greeted and waited for the first spot to open up. There were 6 of us so it was going to be a little tough. We waited in the front and they offered to start our drinks if we wanted to. Awesome! Of course we want to start the drinks!
