Came here during the happy hour. Honestly, this place isn't worth your money if you don't come during happy hour. The mixed soju tasted pretty good, but the alcohol content is definitely lacking. like a 3.5-4, first, i have to say the free table/refillable popcorn was so good it had the perfect saltiness and butter that i like, just kudos! and then ofc the food! pretty good! i like that their happy hour goes up til 8pm. we almost missed it too but glad we got to. the staff were very helpful. i got the spicy pork tacos and i didnt know it came as 4 tacos! they fill it w meat too and was good so i was very satisfied! also the korean pancake was big and filled w seafood so that was nice. only kinda complaint was that the beef bulgogi portion was really small and there was barely any beef in it. most of what i got was rice noodles. also, sharing bc i was hoping to sit there but when we went there was no more outdoor area, the whole yard w the tree has no more seats which was sad bc i thought that place looked the coolest
Came here with some friends to drink and grab some food. The place definitely has a vibe. It's dark, a bit run down, kind of old school. Not the cleanest spot, but I get that it's more of a late night drinking hangout. Food wise, it's pretty much classic Korean bar food. My favorite was the rice cake skewers wrapped in bacon, those were actually really good. We also had the fish cake soup, seasoned sea snails, fried chicken gizzards, and stir fried spicy chicken. Everything was decent, nothing amazing but it does the job when you're drinking. Service wasn't great and the place could definitely be cleaner, but it seems like a lot of regulars and locals come here so it has its crowd. Overall it's fine if you're just trying to drink and snack, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. Not really rushing to come back.
Really cool aesthetics and a solid menu of items. Even on a late Wednesday night, DGM Soju Bar has a good amount of people packed into a space that looks like (what I'd imagine) nightlife in Korea. On busier evenings, they allow seating in the courtyard, which is illuminated by carefully placed string lights that make for a really pretty space. I wasn't hungry when I went with my friends, but their food looked and smelled really good. I had some of the popcorn they give you for free as a little snack and the three of us split a bottle of Soju that gave us each about four full shots. Best thing about this place is that it has its own parking!!!
Awesome night out here! Great for drinks with friends while eating solid Korean food. The bossam was AMAZING. Never had it grilled but it tasted so good. Steamed egg was perfection. Kimchi stew was hitting the spot. Nothing we ordered failed to make my taste buds happy. Service was slow--it was hard to flag someone down and the button on the table didn't seem to do anything. But...I think that's part of the vibes. Rowdy, grimy floors, and loud chatters. Tight seating arrangements...it was all part of the pocha vibes!
i've never been let down by dgm in terms of good food. DELICIOUS! ALWAYS! if you come earlier, you get seated very quickly. i always recommend u uber here but there's always valet that will park ur car for you. i LOVE the fried seaweed rolls here and the jajangmyeon here. the only thing is that the servers only come occasionally so you have to wait to get their attention especially if you're sitting upstairs in the top section. i wish there was a bell to call them over like you have at a kbbq place. sometimes they take a while to come back or forget to get something since they are so busy.
Definitely a iykyk spot and completely underrated. DGM gives the true authentic pocha experience. It's super busy inside so expect a wait. Finding the entrance is not that easy from using maps because it leaves you on the street, but there is a parking lot and a "front" entrance - you gotta walk through a courtyard. But once you're in, it's quite lively. Crowded tables and busy servers. The food we got was amazing - the bossam was definitely my favorite. Would recommend!
Really cool ambience, I felt like I was in korea! We came around 12am on a Saturday and got seated outside. The vibe was street food-y, but service was pretty slow and we had to call our servers a couple times. We got the cheesey chicken and tteok! Both were really good but I feel like there wasn't enough chicken. A bit pricey too, the total was around $48 for 2 ppl.
Fun, outdoor Korean Pocha/Pub in Koreatown! I came here with some friends to grab some eats and drinks before the club and my experience here was good. Upon entering, I loved the fun atmosphere and vibe since it was outdoors in the middle of a building with lights and all the patrons seemed to be having fun. They even gave us free popcorn to snack on while we waited for our food which was nice. For food, here are the dishes we got: - Spicy Tuna Hand roll: I thought it was going to be raw tuna, so I was a bit disappointed when we were served canned tuna. The roll was also not filled enough. Would not recommend. - Chicken and Cheese: Decent but it was more grilled onions than chicken which was disappointing. - Kimchi Pancake: Crispy and tasty. Wish it was thicker though. - Tteokbokki: Standard and cooked well. Cheese topping was yummy. The best part was their homemade soju. We got the yogurt soju and it was sweet, creamy, and addictive. It's even hard to tell there's alcohol in there, but we all felt it after two sips. Dangerous, but I would come back solely for this soju! The service was mid. The servers were polite and nice themselves, but it was hard to flag them down and they did not really check on us. The food also took a while to get served to us as well. Overall, a good experience. While not the best food and service, the drinks and ambiance would make me come back here again!
Lemon soju and Peach soju was SO GOOD. I think it's a little less strong than the bottled sojus but it was very tasty nevertheless. The food was ok... It wasnt very impressive. The atmosphere is nice, not very loud. The service was good, workers are friendly and fast.
What a cute little spot! If you've ever wanted to capture the feel of Korea, this is the place--it's like sitting right out on the streets. The atmosphere was so unique and original, and everything looked amazing. The food was delicious, and while we didn't get to try the soju this time, that just gives us a reason to come back. Next visit, karaoke is definitely on the list too!
My experience was just kinda odd. The address takes you to a run down closed store front with a neon DGM sign. I had to do a little digging to figure out that I needed to walk all the way around the building/block for the entrance...there are 2 open doors but no specific signage about "this is the way". After walking through the prep area and up some stairs I found the inside of the restaurant. There isn't a host stand, so I kinda hung out by a drink fridge until someone greeted me. I love QR code menus, for real!! So many options to choose from and there is some popcorn and yummy drink served. The food was alright. Maybe I didn't 100% understand how to order or what to order. I got the mini gimbap (which is a fav of mine) and each hand roll. Just missed happy hour, but will def go back next time I'm in LA.
Think of this as a Korean street bar, aka a pocha experience. There's plenty to drink, Korean comfort food, music, TVs, and even karaoke rooms. Didn't do the latter though. We sat upstairs inside, where the space is filled with little red plastic stools and round tables that vary in size for groups of 2-4. Larger groups can easily push tables together when needed. It's definitely a casual environment and seems ideal for drinks and snacks. We went on a weekday, so it wasn't too crowded, but I can imagine how loud and lively it gets on weekends. The food was salty with some great crunch. You definitely have a plethora of options to choose from on their QR menu. The spicey pork bulgogi taco was good (had a bit of a kick) and i liked the kimchi handroll. Personally, though, this place wasn't my vibe. The stools don't have any back support. I know, aging myself. And we did see two people tip over while we were there. So not the most sturdy. I liked the little bell you can use to get the servers' attention since they didn't come by often. Can't drink so I unfortunately can't say my thoughts on that but partner remarked their beer was nice and cold. Overall, it's an interesting atmosphere. There are string lights reflecting off the decor and giving that unmistakable casual bar feel, but it's not the cleanest place. The most exciting aspect for me was navigating to the bar. Had to go through the parking lot entrance, through a building where there's apparently outdoor seating on the weekends, past the kitchen, and up several flights of stairs. For parking, the closest option was valet. Or, be like us and hunt for street parking. Scooters are a good option in this area, although the street lighting is pretty dim, so keep that in mind. read more
First stop after getting off the plane! My local friend brought us here for some late night pocha bites and drinks. This place is huge with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and is bumping on weekends. It can get quite loud so might not be the spot if you're trying to hear your friends talk. The menu is quite large, but my gfs and I opted for some recs from my friend such as french fries and seafood pancake. We also ordered the stir fried squid and pork with rice balls and the jajangmyeon. Looking back the food was average, but tasted good as we were hungry. I especially liked the seafood pancake sauce and thought it was different from other sauces I had (on the saltier and spicy-ish side). Service was prompt and smooth. As another review mentions, this place is probably not the top most clean area but it definitely adds personality. We don't have anything particularly like this in Vancouver so I would say it's a good spot if you're looking for a pocha experience. read more

WARNING: DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO EXPERIENCE DISCRIMINATION, RACISM FOR BEING SOUTHEAST ASIAN, AND HORRIBLE ATTITUDE!!! I have never left a review this bad, nor have I ever written one about someone I didn't even know--until now. My group of four came here looking for a good spot to drink, enjoy the music, and soak in the lively atmosphere, similar to DGM. However, as soon as we sat down and were about to order food, the server (whose picture I've attached below) was extremely rude and aggressive toward us for no reason at all. When I asked about Soju, he asked for our IDs. Only two of us (my husband and I) had ours, while our two friends forgot theirs. Instead of handling it professionally, this server treated us with extreme disrespect and an overly aggressive attitude. I strongly feel he was looking down on us and acting hostile because we are Southeast Asian and not Korean. To make matters worse, I literally watched him walk up to every single staff member--one by one--to tell them not to serve Soju to our table just because two people didn't have IDs. His behavior was completely disrespectful, unprofessional, and unnecessary. While the rest of the staff were actually very sweet, this guy completely ruined our night and ruined the mood despite the fun music and vibe. We left feeling thoroughly upset after paying for a meal where we were subjected to such blatant racism. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses this employee's behavior read more

Great spot for soju and korean food. All the foods were flavorful there. My favorite was the bugolgi tacos and bulgolgi soup paired with the yogurt flavored soju. Service was simple there as you sit at a table and order food. Ambiance is simple there, nothing fancy. I do like how it's dark in there with TV's to watch some sports. There's restrooms inside and parking in the back. Only thing I wish they had better chairs for sitting, the little plastic chairs hurt all of us after sitting down for more than an hour. Other than that, I would recommend this little popular gem. read more

Came here pretty late, which works well if you're out at night and don't feel like calling it early. There are two areas: an outdoor section that's louder and more of a party vibe, and an upstairs indoor space that's quieter and more relaxed but still well-designed. The interior does a good job of giving off a Korea-inspired feel without trying too hard. It's a chill spot with a decent soju selection. As for the food, it was slightly mid based on what I tried, but I can't fully judge since I only had the popcorn chicken. Portion-wise though, it's solid and easy to share. read more

If you are out in LA and want a street pocha vibe, this is the place to go! My friends and I came from a pocha nearby and we wish we hopped over sooner! A wide variety of selections to choose from with street food style vibes! Since we just wanted a few bites, we got the Deep Fried Chicken Gizzards and Clam Soup to share. Flavorful soup and deliciously crisp gizzards! Good to know there's another stop to go to if we want to pocha hop on a night outing! read more

We experienced a disappointing dining experience, specifically regarding the spicy fried intestine dish, which was priced at $22.99. The dish contained a negligible amount of meat, contrary to our expectations. Furthermore, the service rendered was unsatisfactory. Consequently, we will not be returning to this establishment. We were also charged an 18% gratuity, which we found perplexing given the circumstances. This experience leads us to question the current 3-star rating, as our previous visits were more favorable. We can no longer recommend DGM. read more

We were able to get a table quickly and ordered a lot of food to accompany the soju. Customer service was amazing and the ambiance was lively. The food was decent and good drinking food. My favorite was the army stew and popcorn chicken. I love how they give the cabbage on the side to help with the chicken. Overall a nice spot to drink and vibe with friends in ktown. read more
Since we have young kids, we usually don't go to places that feel like bars, but we went right at opening and enjoyed all the dishes we wanted as appetizers. Everyone found something they liked, so we were all happy--such a great experience! The combo prices were super affordable, even cheaper than having lunch in K-town. The server was so friendly with the kids, which made the food taste even better!!! read more

Came here with a friend around 7pm yesterday. We got lucky with parking and found street parking, but they do also have valet parking from what we saw after. When we got there we entered the outdoor area first and were a bit confused where to go, then one of the waiters told us to go upstairs and they will seat us. We ended up looking up the restaurant on yelp since the menu did not really explain what the items were. We asked what was in the army soup but the person was not really able to explain, but since it looked good on yelp, we got it and it was a great choice. Also no one told us we have to press the button to get service, but thankfully we realized it ourselves. The place was interesting looking and can be a fun spot. read more

Solid place to visit in Ktown for happy hour drinks and food! For the table, we got fries, army stew, and black bean noodles. For 5 people, it was a good amount to accompany our drinks without leaving too full. The fries were crispy and tasted like they were coated in garlic powder. The army stew serves about 6-7 bowls. The black bean noodles are loaded with sauce and are super chewy! We mostly came for the $10.99 soju cocktails that are normally $22 outside of happy hour, and it got 3-4 rounds per bottle. You get a choice of peach and lemon, but the peach was preferred by the table. Atmosphere: Because we went on a weeknight before 8pm, we were basically the only party there. But on weekends and later in the night, the energy definitely changes in there. I would definitely recommend coming on a weekend night when the outdoor tables are set up! It gets much busier but the vibes are more fun. There is a parking lot that shares with About Time next door and sometimes charges for valet. Otherwise, it is street parking. read more
