Food is absolutely delicious! The servers are attentive, and I really appreciate how well they manage the waitlist. They do a great job maintaining the ambiance by having guests wait outside until they receive the text that their table is ready, which keeps the space from feeling overcrowded. The music is at the perfect volume which is enough to set the vibe without having to shout across the table. I also love that the waitlist system pretty much guarantees you'll get a table, which makes the experience feel organized and worth the wait. Huge props to the team for handling such a fast turnaround between tables while still keeping the drinks and food consistently flowing. And honestly, with LA prices being what they are these days, The Prince still delivers great value and amazing flavor for the price. I'll definitely be coming back. ** ICONICALLY LA ** Originally named The Windsor, this Tudor-style building opened its doors in 1927 during the Golden Age of Hollywood. Located just up the street from the posh Ambassador Hotel and its legendary Cocoanut Grove nightclub, A-listers, politicians, and the wealthy elite were part of the scenery. Silent, silver screen faces like Rudolph Valentino to the cast of the Ziegfeld Follies walked through those slim, front entrance doors regularly. Side note: Despite having double doors, I think they feel tighter than passing through a regular door haha ;) As I was saying ... The Prince became a famous eatery in the 1940s to 1960s. Locals like Bette Davis, Richard Nixon, and then-governor Ronnie Reagan frequented this Art Deco hotel and restaurant that served up the best cocktails in the city. ** THE BAR SCENE ** Fast-forward to 2026, and you'll still get some of the best cocktails in the city. I'd give the bartender a 5/5 for my Dry Hendrick's Martini with Olives. It was perfectly crusted over with a thin sheath of ice. For Soju fans, they've got that of course. Japanese whisky highballs are also popular here. If you're not in the mood for booze or you're the Designated Driver for your partying sidekicks, there's Fever Tree Ginger Beer. Keep in mind that bar service is better during dinner hours. Late/midnight hours get hectic on Fridays & Saturdays. Wait times can get long and drinks orders are best kept simple to avoid further lengthy delays. It's an entirely different service experience if you go for dinner at 7pm versus drinks at midnight. Of course, we did eat a Whole Chicken! It seemed to be the right amount for us with cocktails and wine. My rule: You can always add-on apps, sides, or entrees. ** THAT'S A WRAP ** Since transitioning into a Korean restaurant in the 1960s, The Prince kept its iconic, old-Hollywood, dark-paneled interior decor. And you can't erase the movie history that these walls have seen. Over the years, The Prince has been the backdrop to great scenes in "Thank You for Smoking" and back when a young Jack Nicholson starred in "Chinatown". Also, the dark burgundy booths, each equipped with a lamp figurine and a bell for service, set the pivotal mood in Mad Men. That shocking episode where every feminist cringed while screaming at the TV with bitter disappointment over Joan's business proposal (IFYKYK). As an ad geek myself, I recognize that the old world vibe of The Prince is a throwback to the Golden Age of cinema and creativity. It reminds me of the romanticized creative spirit of movie icons, as well as Mad Men and Don Draper types who coined the "Martini Lunch". We came on a Friday night after having dinner in ktown. There was a waitlist that we put our names down on . They have a pretty good selection of cocktails / food/ soju here . They seated us at a round booth which was on the smaller side for 6 people but we made it work . They were doing a spin the wheel for free soju giveaways and I won a bottle ! We ordered a good mix of cocktails and soju. I really like the minty frozen drink that my friend got but I completely forgot what it was called . We also ordered some crispy chicken with Ddukbokki and cheese and French fries . I had alot of fun and would definitely come back !! The Prince was one of the weirdest restaurants I've ever been to and I don't mean that in a bad way. The decor is a mix of American colonial plus medieval, which is completely unrelated to its being a Korean restaurant. It feels like being taken back in time to the early 1900s. The food was good but quite expensive. Luckily the portions are quite large and probably more suited for large parties to share. The drinks were also very good. Atmosphere The vibe here is Old School Glamorous literally like stepping into a vintage movie set. Dark, classy, velvet heavy, kind of "old money, old Hollywood" energy. One of the reasons people love coming is because New Girl filmed here, so yes, that adds to the cool-factor. After a certain hour (I think around 10 PM), it's 18+ or 21+, so it's not somewhere you can bring kids later at night, even though they serve food. After 10 PM it turns into more of a bar vibe. I recommend calling to double check. Food I mostly go for the wings, and honestly... the wings HIT. Big, Meaty, Crispy, Saucy. They're literally my favorite thing on the menu. I haven't tried too much else because I usually just snack at the bar, but the wings alone make it worth stopping by. Drinks & Prices My sister loves the alcoholic apple cider drink it's around $9.50, which honestly isn't bad compared to most bars in LA. The drinks are decent and priced in the normal range for a place that's kind of iconic. Parking They do have a parking lot, but they charge. Metered parking exists... but it's basically never available, especially on weekends. Seating & Crowds If you're coming on a weekend, be ready, It gets PACKED. Like, can't-find-a-stool-at-the-bar packed. We've gone before where one of us is standing, waiting for stools to free up. Eventually, later at night, seats open, but during prime time it's chaos. If you want a table, they have a minimum you have to be ready to pay. I don't remember exactly how much, but between drinks and wings we ended up hitting it anyway. Service Service depends on whether you're standing or sitting at the bar. If you're sitting, they come fast like right away, very on it. If you're standing, good luck... they'll take longer to notice you even though you're trying to order. Overall, the service is pretty basic, not amazing but not bad. Overall Great wings and iconic old-school vibe, but crowded weekends and tough parking. Solid 4 star spot for drinks and late-night Korean bar food. read more

Took my sister here who was visiting LA since she is a big New Girl fan! You would never expect this English-themed bar to be smack in the middle of K town but it works! The entrance was a bit tricky to find, but once we were in it was such a vibe. We split a soju to start and then each ordered a cocktail. The bar tender was super friendly and the vibes were good. A huge party came about an hour into our visit and took over the bar area so we decided to move to the tables to feel less crowded. To note, the tables were probably at 50% capacity. The management came over right as we sat down and pressured us to order off their food menu since we sat at a table. Most of the other tables didn't have food and it was almost midnight so we were not hungry. We went back and forth for a bit and ended up avoiding a food order. I don't mind paying a drink minimum or even a food minimum if it's explicitly stated but here it wasn't. If anything I think we looked younger than some of the other people at the bar and the staff was trying to take advantage of that. I recommend visiting if you want a few fun photos and wanna cosplay being Nick at the New Girl bar but other than that I'd steer clear. read more

Look, I know seafood is expensive but the tiny bits of shrimp in this almost made the name laughable. Just call it Fried Rice and pass on the shrimp--people will feel less cheated going into it. Spicy Soondae with Vegetables and Korean Pork: considering every ingredient going into this dish, I expected more flavor; instead, the spicy sauce overpowers everything else in it. We came here for late night bites and the ultra cool retro red booth and lamps atmosphere. "Mad men"and "Thank you for smoking" are among the shows and movies filmed here. I love that we can push a button and our server is there in seconds. The food is okay and edible, but it lacks seasoning and that 'something special' on every plate. The chicken wasn't crispy enough, the kimchi fried rice was under-flavored, and the fish cake soup tasted like it came straight out of an instant ramen packet. Even the sweet and sour pork was a letdown; I felt like I was eating fried tempura coating with no actual meat inside. Beyond the flavors, the pricing is hard to justify given the inconsistent portions. The price point simply doesn't match the quantity or the quality of the food. Even the use of plastic dippers felt a bit cheap for the setting. While the vibe and decor are great--and it's clearly a popular spot for drinks--I came for the food. If you live around the corner, it's a nice enough neighborhood hangout. But if you're driving a long distance expecting to be impressed, a local mom-and-pop shop would be a much better bet in your area. Service was okay, but unfortunately they are overwhelmed with the magnitude of diners. A two star is justified but it definitely needs some improvements to bring it back to its old glory days at "The Prince" of Korea-town. Maybe changing the menu and theme of the prince to a more modern take of Korean culture and cuisine. read more

I walked into The Prince for the first time around ten years ago as part of a 'famous movie locations' bus tour. We looked around but the tour didn't leave time to get even a drink, so as I was rushed out the door by the tour guide I thought "I'm gonna have to come back here and eat someday". Well today was that day! The place is a little worn and the seats are a little threadbare nowadays, but the classic decor mixed with a Korean menu is so unique you'll forgive it immediately. We opted for some of the more popular items on the menu: the Korean fried chicken (perfect), the kimchi fried rice (also great) and the dumplings (good but nothing special). They have a non alcoholic Suntory beer on the menu which was good for me and a selection of cocktails that I'll have to try when I'm not driving. P.S. If you can avoid parking by taking the metro or ride-sharing I highly advise it. No valet and street parking is a nightmare. read more

Not sure if we had the haunted booth. Between 3 of us, 2 rounds of beers, 1 soju, 1 Midnight Cowboy Cocktail, and 5 food orders, our bill was a reasonable total of around $60 each after tip and tax. Fast service, great tasting drink. This could be your first or last or only stop of a K-town night. Almost divey atmosphere, sports on the tv's, but loungey cool atmosphere without being trendy and hip. No doubt this is home bar to many. More squid in the Stir Fried spicy plate please. I got a Midnight Cowboy (7 of 10) and a sazerac with rye (10 of 10), while the midnight cowboy wasn't my favorite I can definitely appreciate the effort the bartender put into it. The ambiance was incredible, loved the old timey vibe and knowing how much history had occurred there is amazing. We've been going to The Prince around once a week for the past several months now, and I have to say that it's become one of my favorite places to grab drinks and some food late night. I just love the ambiance and the comfortable, spacious booth seating. We've only been here past 10:00pm on weekdays and it's always pretty full but we've never had to wait to be seated. Long gone are the days where the crowd was mostly Koreans...aside from the servers, we've usually been the only Korean customers here every time. I know the chicken used to be good here, but I have to say that my favorite right now is the sweet and sour pork (tangsuyuk)...it's just so perfectly crispy and the sauce is just amazing. They make it better than most Korean style Chinese restaurants. The service has always been good...fairly quick and super professional, even when they're busy. It definitely helps that they have a bell thing at every table that you can ring when you need the server time come over. The vibe in this place is amazing! It's like walking into a movie set. The seating is all red plush half circle booths so it really invites conversation. The menu is a QR code on the stand and you order by pressing a button on the side of the booth which essentially rings a doorbell through the restaurant and calls a server over. My brother got dumplings with radish and my friend ordered the spicy fried chicken. The portions were absolutely massive!! I received a mountain of fried tofu with a boat of sauce on the side. My brothers dumplings are the only thing I would say were portioned for one person. The chicken and my tofu could easily be shared with 4+ people as a meal. The spicy fried chicken was fantastic and my tofu was good. The menu said the tofu was covered in sauce but it came on the side, which was fine but the tofu had no seasoning or flavor and even when dipping into the sauce, it felt lacking.
