We had a walkie talkie to ask for hints which was very helpful. FYI, you aren't allowed to take videos or pictures inside but the set up is pretty cool. Would definitely recommend with a group.

I've done a couple of Escape Rooms before and this was by far the best one. I came with my wife and…read morestepson, it was their first time and he really wanted to do an Escape Room. I did some research and the location and reviews of Boxroom led me to try it. We're all so glad we did. For beginners and kids they recommended the Merlin Room - it's still challenging! Kids still need to go with adults and you probably cannot solo this one - it really encourages teamwork. This made for great, memorable family time and even team building! I loved the theme, It's hard to talk about it too much without giving away surprises, but I can safely say that you won't be disappointed. The Merlin room is filled with mystery, magic, and the staff is so friendly and good, they made for a great experience. A couple of times we needed just a slight nudge or clue, and they gave exactly that, it was perfect and kept us engaged. We finished the room and felt so great, it was an immersive experience and my stepson already wants to come back next weekend to do the Pirates Room. We'll definitely be back. There's parking available on the street, it's on Hollywood Boulevard, so there's plenty to walk around and enjoy before or after your Escape Room experience - lots of nice restaurants there too. It's also about a 10 minute drive from Hollywood Beach. Great place!

EDIT: after sharing this review I was personally contacted by the GM of Escapology. They apologized…read morefor the treatment and offered the walk-in discount, in addition to a discount should we ever return. The e-mails continued even beyond normal business hours to ensure we walked away as satisfied customers. The refund was returned the very next day. Even with the way things went on the premises in person, we are more than satisfied with their effort to make it right. Thank you, Escapology. We called on a Monday afternoon to inquire about availability, we were told they had openings and she would take our info over the phone and charge us for one person to hold a spot for us as we were twenty minutes away. When we asked about parking, the person on the phone instructed us that there was a parking garage on Cortez St, but she failed to mention that we could get parking validated by them for $15 and not have to pay the $21 parking fee. We only learned about the parking validation from the sign on the entry desk after we had already paid for parking in the garage around the block and we weren't going back down there to haggle for the $6 savings. There is also a sign as you enter the building that says to ask about the walk in discount. We asked about the discount four separate times, as we had two people paying for families, and each time Myesa ignored the question. It wasn't until she was asking for my payment that I stated she was ignoring our question and she told us we couldn't get the walk in discount because we called first. We asked how much the discount would have been and she said 20%, so with our group total of $280 that would have saved us $56 dollars. Note: it doesn't have any terms or conditions for the discount listed on the sign. After we stated it would have been nice to know that on the phone as well, Myesa was a bit smug, but showed us to our room. There are no bathrooms for paying customers, you must go downstairs one level to use the public restroom. For the price you pay at this location, which is the most expensive escape room we've ever done, for not any better quality or courteous staff, we won't be returning. The only bonus about this escape room is that it is right on the beach and close to many other restaurants and things to see and do. Find another escape room where they actually care about the customer.

But as I near the anniversary of this event and me and soon to be wife remember it, ahh man, I'm so happy with these peoole. Posting the text from my Google review: Escapology - Fort Lauderdale is a wonderful, fun experience for groups of all sizes. In my case, I proposed to my fiancé there. Ana, the manager and our game master, MJ20 went above and beyond to ensure this was a memorable experience for both of us. Ana helped me plan everything and MJ20 delivered a challenging and fun experience that we will never forget. We will return soon!

Covid era we had the rooms to ourselves but it looks like they are going back to the original model where the room is played with multiple parties now this can go good or bad and I must say this was a good one. So if you are looking to just play with your party expect to pay a bit more . Being an experienced player and the other family was not we got to let them really play and enjoy the escape. I have played most of this company games but missing 1 or 2 so I will be back.

We chose the room called "The Depths," and it turned out to be an absolute adventure! We managed to get through the first room without any hints, but once we got to the second room, we got a little lost a few times. It was such an interesting and creative game it really made us think, communicate, and work together to solve puzzles and try different ideas to see what worked. The rooms are incredibly well thought out, and it's clear how much effort went into every detail. There was even a science lab coat that I wore the whole time, which made it even more fun. The coolest part of the experience was when it felt like we were actually driving the underwater submarine that was so cool! Overall, it was an amazing experience that's perfect for families and friends to bond over. The staff was super kind, and since we were so close to finishing, they even gave us a little extra time. We can't wait to go back and try another room!
