My husband planned this as a day-date surprise and it was such an awesome experience. We had never done an escape puzzle before, so we had no idea what to expect. Tina and Gabe greeted us at the door and immediately got us excited for what was to come. The puzzle room and clues were just difficult enough-it was definitely challenging, but not totally impossible to the point of getting frustrated with each other. We really had to communicate and think outside the box! The level of creativity and craftsmanship was truly impressive. We were assigned to the "Carnival" puzzle room which was just a whole lot of fun. We even kept talking about the whole experience that night and going back through the props and clues! I'm hooked and can't wait to go back to try another puzzle. I think it's an awesome activity for a couple or a large group! read more

The whole experience was great start to finish. We came as a group of 5 and played the Carnival room which was really meant for 8, but the people running the show were happy to accommodate us and make our escape as fun as possible. The puzzles were the right amount of challenging- hard to figure out but rewarding once you got it and could move on to the next step. We had a nice guy watching over us helping with clues when we got stuck. Our time ran out right as we were about to get the last lock, but we all decided to count it as a win anyway. I've done a few room escape games in Manhattan but this was by far the best time I've had. Would definitely recommend and we're looking forward to coming back and trying another puzzle room! read more

Does it make a difference which escape room experience you choose? Yes it does! The owners of this company contribute as much to the experience as the clever dramas they have created! Our family of seven: grandparents, parents and teenagers had so much fun that we can't wait to try more challenges! This visit was the Speakeasy, very appropriate for the beach town Victorian house located in Long Branch. The game is appropriate for all ages. It will be surprising who may be the best at finding clues and who is the best at interpreting! Rainy day fun, birthdays, any time is a good time to try this! Better than a movie and far more beneficial for interacting and communication. We are hooked! read more

This place is really fantastic! My kids (boy 13, girl 11) and I tried an escape room in South Jersey last year so we thought we had a sense of what this one in Long Branch would be like but we were wrong - this one was ten times better than the one we did in South Jersey. We loved Escape the Puzzle's Carnival Room so much that we went back two weeks later to try the Speakeasy Room. Both were outstanding, and my kids are already talking about going back to do the Swamp Room. The owners (Tina and Gabe) are not only really nice people but they have designed an absolutely wonderful (and fun!!) experience. My kids and I highly, highly recommend this place!! read more

Three friends and I went and it was out first escape room with "Escape the Puzzle". While other like businesses will treat you like a number and rush you in and out.... this was not the case. The staff really went out of their way to make friends with us and make us feel like we were their "first customers". They explained the puzzle after we were finished and even gave us a sneak peek at the next "room" they are building. Give them a try and you wont regret it! P.S- I've done 15 puzzles in 3 different states and this was one of the best if not the best. The staff and attention to detail makes all the difference. read more

Our family had a great time at the "Swamp" yesterday. All 9 of us, 5 adults and 4 kids ages 10 - 15, had a lot of fun. Tina was very welcoming and gave us a great summary and introduction. The room had a wide variety of puzzles and all ages were able to participate. It was a great hour of fun and even though we didn't make it (we almost escaped) we all enjoyed the experience and we're still talking about it hours later. Highly recommended, we look forward to returning again in the future to try other rooms. read more

what a FUN FUN time!!! Went for a girls fun time out and that is just what we got. We went in not knowing what to expect and came out wanting to go back in for more. To come to find out Tina created the puzzles and hand crafted the props, is even more incredible. Fantastic addition to Long Branch. From the moment we stepped foot in Escape the Puzzle, Gabe and Tina were amazing hosts - detailed instruction, helpful tips, and nonstop laughs made our night ultra memorable. Masterful puzzle engineering and set by Tina! This was our first time, and we loved it! We did not "escape" the Carnival but we loved every challenging minute of it. We traveled far because friends chose the location but the staff was wonderful, the experience hooked us and we are trying to put together a group to go for the ride with us to take on the Swamp! This was a great experience! My friends and I all went at the end of the day. Most workers would be exhausted and want the last group to be done. Not these owners. They were warm and welcoming, not to mention hilarious. The escape room itself was enjoyably difficult but not impossible. This was the best escape room experience we had. My daughter loved it so much she's trying to gather a posse of kids to go the very next day (today). I loved it so much I'm getting a posse of adults to go. The puzzles, props, storyline and presentation were excellent. This was so much fun! We had a group of 6 and did the Swamp room... it was seriously intense in racing against the clock. The room was very thoughtful on how everything tied together and it was incredibly hard but super satisfying to get out with a couple of minutes to spare. Boy Scout Outing to 'The Swamp' Our Boy Scout Troop has done escape rooms several times, and this was one of the best. The puzzles includes several elements we had never seen before, and didn't expect. The room has nice 'production' value, and a good 'story' behind it. This family owned Escape room does it right! There a many escape rooms in NJ but there seems to be a pattern for which are top notch and those are the ones who make there own rooms and are creative. I've done a few of these rooms before and have to say this was the most enjoyable experience yet. While other escape rooms have puzzles that are either too easy or too hard, these all felt well balanced and fair. There's also much more attention to the overall setup than others - The Swamp had a ton of details that made it seem even more real. Highly recommended. read more

My friend and I did the room "Table for Two" and we had such an amazing time! Our game master was Dominic, and he really made the game special and exciting for us. The room was very fun, with not too many hard puzzles. They were all solvable and super fun. The room was nicely decorated and we enjoyed the theme of the room overall. Loved, loved, loved it! I've been to many escape rooms and this one is by far the best one yet. The owners are the sweetest people ever and everything in the room was so well thought out.
