EscapeOut was my very first escape room experience in a team builder setting and I was thoroughly impressed with how challenging the puzzles were, even with a big group! I recently recommended this place to my friends who have never done an escape room, and we had a blast! One of the biggest selling points for us was that we were guaranteed to have the room just for our small group of 3. At other places we noticed that we may be grouped with strangers, and having a private room made the purchase even more expensive. Having a private room here was a great deal for our party! Had lots of laughs over a couple of minor jump scares, and just satisfaction for working through puzzles even with our small group. The backstory also make it more fun by setting the tone of the experience. We all agreed we are coming back, especially after hearing some new designed rooms will become available soon! read more

I took my wife and friends and kids for her birthday party. We all enjoyed it. It was better than I had thought. It is pricey but no regret.

The staff here is amazing! Our game master for both of our rooms (don't know her name, but she had long blonde hair) was pretty epic! She dressed up differently for both rooms, spoke with accents that fit the themes of the rooms, and gave great clues that were helpful, but didn't just give it away too easily. We did Alien Zoo and Dr. Zychlov's Laboratory. While they weren't our favorite rooms we've ever done, they were solid, and we enjoyed them both. We escaped both rooms, but felt like we needed lots of clues. We definitely want to go back to try the other rooms, but maybe with more people (there were only 2 of us). I took off one star because the price, compared to other escape rooms in the area, was pretty steep. read more

Sit down. Be humble. Ego be damned. We booked the Sorcerer's Shack because we had 10 people and figured between all of us we could get out of the room. HA. HAAAAA. HAAA. Yeah, right. Upon entering we were pretty promptly greeted. It was all of our first times there so he went through a brief description of how the escape room worked and then walked us all to the room and got into character. Long story short, we thought we only had two locks left and felt pretty good until we realized we weren't anywhere close to being done. The clues and tricks and "magic" were all really cool. Lots of cool little tricks here and there. One thing though that really put us back a little is that I think they messed up our first clue. It set us back a lot and although we probably still wouldn't have finished in time it was frustrating in hindsight. Definitely would return to try their other rooms. read more

Being somewhat experienced at escape rooms (10+), I have quite a few to compare to these rooms. For this location I've done the magician room and the ritual room. Both were excellent. Not the best rooms I've done, but certainly high quality. The staff is excellent and do a great job of getting you into the theme of the room. The puzzles weren't high tech for the most part, but they made sense and were entertaining. A couple of the clues in each room were pretty dang awesome. While not super difficult, they still challenged for sure and we definitely needed a couple of clues. A couple of them had me upset at myself for not putting them together, but hey, hindsight is 20/20. Anyways, 5 stars for this place. Highly recommend it and I'll be back for the others. Plus the games are relatively cheap and private, which is a plus since I hate being stuck in games with random people. read more

My group did the Illusion de Magician. PROS: The staff was really friendly. They had an actor for the opening scene which was impressive. The props were cool. The room could handle a large number of people (we had about 10 in our group). The lobby was pretty and they had fun games out to pass the time. CONS: There was not enough advanced technology for the price of the room (room was about $30). Some of the puzzles were basic (one of them was a well-known riddle printed on paper that I recognized right away). There were too many combination locks. It wasn't as immersive as the others I've been in and felt more like a room full of props (the lobby was better decorated). Most of the people I went with were escape rooms newbies, and unfortunately said they didn't think escape rooms were worth the price after going to this one. First Escape Room so somewhat unsure if this is a good baseline. The person running it had pretty good acting and was very nice to us / helpful because we needed clues. The spoiler free there were some neat and creative puzzles, an okay amount of distractions from the current objective but perhaps too many micro puzzles that you just have to figure out that that is the puzzle you are supposed to be working on? The overall puzzle and/or room to escape design 3.5 or 4 out of 5, could be a little more creative but I wouldn't know because I haven't tried out other escape rooms to know. Anyhow, big fan of doing dungeons in Legend of Zelda and this was sort of the real life version confined to a smallish room and putting all the puzzles right next to each other. read more

The only down side was that one of the puzzles was worn and hard to get. After our time was up our host came to walk us through and she even struggled with the pieces. First of all, there isn't a video they make you watch before the game. We got a live person, in costume, in character! That itself was amazing. The Ritual Room was clever, wont give anything away but I appreciated the puzzles. In other games I've been to, you press a buzzer and someone comes in and helps you. Here, there is an old style phone you can pick up and get a hint (makes the game more immersive). We beat the game with 3 minutes left, and the difficulty of the puzzles were just right. Our family tried this on a whim and what a great way to reconnect with each other. It really forces you work as a team and you get to share your successes with each other. My group came here on 6/13 to celebrate my birthday, we did all 4 rooms From 4:30pm-9:30pm (time stamp for owners to see which of their employees were working since they did such a great job) We have done about 70 escape rooms together and we had by far the most fun with our game master this time. Nicholas was our game master for 3 of the rooms and I didn't catch the name of the first game master we had but he was equally as fun. In addition there was a 3rd employee who gave us a couple hints in one of the rooms and they were also really great! They really had fun with it and i feel like you can tell they enjoy their jobs and it really helps just make the experience so much better when your game master is having a good time too. Especially for us when we tend to do more than one a night, we'll be spending a lot of time with a game master and it's important they have a good attitude and seem like they want to be there. We also really appreciated the type of hints they were giving, they were still in "clue form". They did a GREAT job giving us enough of a hint we weren't frustrated with not being able to move forward, but not so easy that it took all the fun away, this can be a fine line to navigate and they nailed it. They also always waited for us to ask for a hint. We've been annoyed in the past with game masters giving hints too quickly or without us asking, taking the excitement of solving puzzles away from us. Having done so many escape rooms you expect, even the best rooms, to have a technical error now and then. What we really look for is how they deal with it when they do happen. There was a minor problem with one of the locks (no biggie) and the game master noticed RIGHT away, asked us if we were having an issue, slipped in super fast, fixed the problem and we were right back To it. This tells me the employees are really paying attention to us in the room and could tell when something wasn't quite right. He fixed it so fast that we didn't waste time and it didn't detract from the experience or immersiveness of the room at all. 2 members of our group had come here a few years back and did the magicians room, they were unimpressed then but we decided to give the business another shot anyway. We are so glad we did! They said they have seriously stepped their game up here! The rooms are definitely higher budget now and have a lot more different types of puzzles/locks not just your standard key and lock or combination lock. If you had gone to that first room and weren't planning on doing others please reconsider and and check out their other rooms! We've done a lot of escape rooms and we have high expectations, this definitely was one of our favorite places and we recommend this business to anyone looking to do an escape room! We will look forward to coming back when they have some more rooms!! When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly staff person who took time to explain and answer all our questions. Afterwards we were in our room and off on our adventure. Suggestions for planning your trip. Book ahead of time online. Time slots can fill up quick. Also if you've never done an escape room before start with the Magic Room or the Ritual Room.
