The service was amazing and accommodating. FYI if you purchase a gift card from another location you can only use at that location. The system between locations are not synced. We had an issue but they accommodated our party and we had a great time. We did the Lost City and it was intermediate level. We had to ask for help several times and were nudged but no shame here. We enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend to try them but if you can find a discount or Groupon it will help or go on a Mon-Thurs. They are a little pricey. read more

I'd already experienced quite a few escape rooms by the time I gave Escapology in DOCO a try, and it's a solid choice for both beginners and seasoned escapers alike. This visit we escaped their Scooby Doo room, and I have a reservation for the Dark Knight coming up soon. I'll be sure to update this review then :) The Scooby Doo room was great for our team of four adults, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for younger kids. The puzzles were still quite challenging, and we did need a hint. We initially thought this would have been one of the easier rooms given its theme, but I'd rank it around a 6/10 difficulty. I'd call them to confirm if you're unsure your group will be able to solve it. We were started promptly on time, and given the full time allowed - the operation runs smooth and the room was in great shape. All of the puzzles worked and nothing was finicky (a problem I've had with older rooms elsewhere). If there was an area to improve, it'd be posting each room's difficulty rating on the website - it's hard to estimate which ones would be good for your particular group when you're going just off the descriptions. read more

Overall, I was fairly happy with the quality of the Scooby-Doo room we went with. It had a high production value compared to many other escape rooms I've done in the area, with many digital screens embedded in the walls and decent quality props. This was my group's first time trying Escapology, so I'll admit that when I walked into the room and saw signs of a higher-than-average budget, I was worried that the puzzles themselves would lack the level of thought that I've noticed at other establishments. Nonetheless, especially knowing that the room we picked wasn't among the most challenging, the puzzles were difficult enough to last us 50 minutes of the allotted hour, and that's with half of our group having never done an escape room before. Some critiques I have are that the employees aren't as animated as I've experienced in the past. It would usually be to the point that I'm completely sold on the backstory given their level of storytelling and how in-character they were. Also, there was a puzzle in our room that opened before we actually solved it, so it got confusing when we solved it and nothing happened. Regardless, we're planning to come back to do the Batman room, and are determined to complete all of the rooms with the same group by 2027. I just hope we don't run into any more issues with the puzzles, and that the staff pumps up the enthusiasm just a bit more! read more

What a fun date night! It was only my second escape room experience ever (hubby's first), but we did great! We played the Scooby Doo room. All the puzzles were really fun... some more challenging than others. Compared to another establishment I've been to, Escapology was top notch. The lobby space, the customer service, all the beautiful details, and the use of digital elements really made our evening enjoyable and felt like money well spent. Note: this review is from someone who has done a lot of escape rooms before. At the DOCO, Escapology has opened their first location in Sacramento. We have only tried one room so far, the Scooby Doo Haunted House. Verdict: Great puzzles and LOTS of puzzles! You will need to work fast (and ask for hints if you get stuck) or you will not finish! The four of us spent a bit too much time on one puzzle (because of color confusion) so we did not finish. We usually complete rooms in the one hour time limit so I would highly recommend asking for hints if you want to finish and you get stuck on any puzzle for more than 3 minutes for this room. My family noted that the puzzles are mainly serialized (little to no parallel puzzle solving possible). Rooms are very professionally designed and high quality components. I think we will come back to do more, but we will definitely be asking for hints next time! read more

Came here with a group of six friends for a 37th birthday. We chose the Mansion Murder scenario & it was a lot of fun! We made it out before the 60 minutes were up and we used about six clues, but it was still so much fun and not super complicated! (With a little help now and then haha). The staff were very nice and helpful and even though my friend accidentally booked it on a different day, they changed it for us right away and got us in within a half hour. At the end they let us know that if you book for another event right there and then you get 50% off. And you can edit that booking later on if you need to add people or move the date or time. Which was a really great deal so we booked another 2 to come back and do with our kids! read more

We usually love escape rooms, so we were very excited to try the Scooby Doo room with our 10-year-old nephew, who had never done an escape room before. Everything was great until about 25 minutes in, when we couldn't figure out one of the clues. This is a very linear game, so you can only go in one specific order. We pressed the button to ask for a clue... nothing. Then a few minutes later we did it again. Again, nothing. I've *never* had this happen anywhere, and we had been told that our game master would be watching and listening at all times. For the price we paid, this certainly should have been the case. We kept trying to solve the clue on our own, but couldn't. We even waved our arms and called to the camera, since we got no response, and I almost walked out of the game to try and find help. I should have. It took TEN MINUTES for us to get a response, and we weren't able to complete the room because of this. We were very close to the end, and would have had no problem otherwise. We won't be going back to this location. The game itself was fun, but their employees need to do a better job. read more

We are no strangers to escape rooms so we decided to give this new place a try. We were not disappointed. We did the Batman themed room and the amount of detail they put into it was amazing. I can only imagine the rest of the rooms have just as much detail which I look forward to experiencing. I also love that all rooms are private that makes this place even better. Took the kids, ages 22, 19, and 15. We chose one of the more challenging rooms, Murder Mansion. Barely missed finishing the room but had a great experience. As fans of escape rooms, my fiancee and I decided to get married... in an escape room!! The irony... amirite?? We messaged a few escape rooms in town, and Escapology was very communicative and accommodating to us even though they didn't have to be! We booked one room, and they comped us a room before hand so we had plenty of time to get married. The room itself (7 deadly sins) was very challenging but fun and fair. Our game master Carissa gave us clues that didn't completely give things away but led us in the right direction. We love a challenge, but if you prefer a little more guidance, that is also an option offered in the beginning. All the special effects and electronic components of the room worked as they were supposed to. The nicest surprise was after the escape room, the manager Cecelia set up a "Just Married" sign, bubbly apple cider, a dozen roses, and a comped room for future use to congratulate us on our marriage. Obviously, we had an unusual escape room experience, but we have done various Escapology rooms before and highly recommend them for their professionalism, unique room experiences, and great game masters! We had an amazing time at Escapology! The decor is well done and Tracie was an amazing host! Our whole experience from booking to the actual Escape room activity was superior. I called multiple times with questions about the room etc. and they were always so helpful. My group did Lost City and Antidote Warfare - all had a great time. I plan to return soon to try the haunted house room. They are still working some things out but it was worth it to be one of the first to try out the new rooms.
