Came on a Saturday for a 4:25PM in the Mona Lisa room to celebrate my husband's birthday with his family. We were a group of 7 adults. We felt that the room was very difficult but Josh & Avery were great hosts! Josh gave us clear instructions at the beginning and Avery was great at giving us hints (often). I didn't want us to fail so I had no shame in asking for a lot of hints and glad to know I could because there's no way we could have escaped without them. I also really like that the hints are given on a tv up on the wall. Loved the lazer lights at the end. Very Mission Impossible. Limbo anyone? We had so much fun. Can't wait to be back! read more

If you would like to test your family dynamics just do an escape room with them. While I have done escape rooms before this was my first time doing it with 2 teenagers. We selected the Lost City which is a 6/10 for difficulty and that seemed appropriate for our first time We had an absolute blast and the staff was very helpful. I was a bit clue happy and ran over a few times to push the button for the hints that the teenagers swore they didn't need. Overall we completed the room in time. Had a lovely and amazing experience at Escapology! My two friends and I went here for the very first time this past Thursday and were very impressed and pleased with our experience. We were greeted by a friendly member at the host stand name Steven. He was very polite and patient with us since it was our first time there. We picked the Batman theme escape room and we loved it! Highly recommend this room to build teamwork and empower critical thinking skills. We then exited the room and was greeted by another friendly staff member name Josh. Josh helped us along the way with hints when we were struggling badly in the escape room. Both Josh and Steven made our experience amazing! Highly recommended going to the Escapology Tempe location! Quality/Quantity - Introduced our guest to "Escape Rooms" and he had so much fun. Who Stole Mona - Easier than expected. But we chose an easy one as this was our guest's first time. But I was hoping for multiple rooms and it being a little harder. We had a good time, and more importantly, our guest did. Atmosphere - Cool location, good size. Good size lobby. Clean restrooms. 8 different themed rooms. Open 7 days a week, see my picture. Yelp's hours differ slightly. Plenty of mall parking. Service - Good. Simple friendly instructions. Helped us when needed (did not need much help). The website was very user friendly, so we booked online. Price - $130 for 4 people. We did the pirate one and the room was super cool but just a little too dark...we had to use our phone flashlight most of the time to read clues. :( Three different times we waved for help for a looong time and they didn't notice us so we had to push the button. They did mention they were short staffed so perhaps that's why but all in all it took lots of time off of our hour and we finished without our final clue. My husband and I did the Batman room and had a great time overall! We loved the multiple room setting and game master was quick to assist when we needed help. The check in process was simple, but oh boy was it super crowded in the front area! Location is super simple to find and they definitely pay close attention to detail. One complaint was the low lighting making it kind of hard to see. Lastly, not the establishments fault, but we were interrupted by a random person coming into the room thinking it was the bathroom and we had to send them away- and they didn't believe us! She said the staff told her to follow the sign? When the game ended they explained the restroom sign pointing down the hall is right above the Batman room door and the person got confused. Not a huge issue, but definitely took away a few minutes and our concentration :-/ read more

I was disappointed with the lack of customer service at this location. When we arrived there was no one at the desk to help us check in. After more than 5 minutes, the "manager" Avory popped out of the back room but said she'd be right back. After another 5 mins, she finally re-appeared. Then she said she could not book an escape room for us because of their 15 minute time cutoff. Even though the rooms were available, and bookings were available online for 10 minutes out she would not book us. My guess is she did this on purpose because it was near closing time and didn't want one last group keeping her there longer. Super Sus. Otherwise, the lobby was nice and the rooms looked like fun/upscale compared to others I've seen. I only wish I could have experienced it. read more

This is our second time trying an Escapology room. We're escape room junkies and have done a lot of them. Escapology all have REALLY cool props, but once again it ended there. The puzzles are disjointed and often don't link together. Its all sort of techy and ramdom. Two of our puzzles didn't even work right (they confirmed this at the end), but there was just sort of an "oops" reaction to it. These are way too expensive to leave feeling disappointed. We're wishing we'd gone to a local escape room with simpler props, but a story and puzzles that creates some excitement. read more

We had our son's 10th birthday party here today and I'm really bummed to write this review. Although the room was high-quality, I was shocked at how poorly the experience was run, especially for a group of kids at a birthday party. First of all, the host couldn't have been less engaged. Did not check in on us, did not go over what to expect as parents, and just disappeared for almost the entire time we were there. Also, we were told we'd be able to watch the experience, but that was not the case. Then, several kids came out of the room crying because they were getting in arguments over the walkie talkie. The host told us she just gave it to one of them and let them figure it out--as anyone who works with kids knows, it would be way better to assign someone this role (eg the birthday kid) to prevent these types of arguments from happening. She didn't even say goodbye to us or help with the pizza or cupcakes, aside from putting them on the table. I'm really disappointed in our experience--as a family who frequently does escape rooms together, I'd recommend going somewhere else. read more

It went very well and we had a lot of fun on our first ever escape room - the Pirate room. With our teen grandsons. My one suggestion is ask for hints as soon as you hit a wall and as often as needed as your chances of completing the task grow when you do and it's a lot of fun to Complete the room! We did five rooms in the same day at this location. The first room we did was Hidden Temple, and it was reset incorrectly and one of the locks wasn't locked. When trying to reach our game master, we couldn't. One of the magnetic puzzles didn't work, and we couldn't get ahold of the game master again. After we finished the room, we were told the game masters watch more than one room at a time, and weren't watching or listening while we were trying to get ahold of them. Second room we did was the Mona Lisa room. The battery in one of the lights was dead, and we were again unable to gain the attention of the game masters. Third room we did was Pirates, which was the best room. Fourth room we did Narcos, and it was again reset incorrectly with locks not locked before we came in. This room also had technical issues and puzzles that didn't work so a game master had to step in. Finally, we did 7 Deadly Sins, where a lot of the puzzles were a stretch and although we knew what we had to do to solve the puzzles, the tools to do so weren't created well and there was a lot of guessing going on. While the rooms were immersive and well decorated, the inability to solve puzzles due to improper resets, not being able to contact a game master, poorly designed props, and technical issues was just incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We visited other escape rooms on this trip, and would definitely recommend other ones over this location. At least the staff were incredibly friendly. read more

My family & I had a lot of fun doing the Batman room together. My kids were excited they were able to participate as this was their first in person escape room they've done with us. As a Batman fan I liked all of the details they added into this room, it really did feel like you were part of the Gotham world. Everything was set up very well and flowed nicely throughout out game session. We almost completed the room but got stuck on a puzzle in the third room. When our game host came in, I had asked her about the puzzle we got stuck on & showed her what we had written down on the writing tablet they provide and asked her to show me how it was supposed to be completed. It seemed like we had the right answer, it just didn't work/let us move onto the next phase of the room. Didn't seem like she was sure either why it hadn't worked. Either way it was still a lot of fun and I would return to do one of the other rooms, I like the large selection of themes they have to choose from. read more

Faulty equipment interfered with entire game . Put batteries in and double check game before charging people to play!

We did the Narco room and it was tough - had to use a lot of hints since we had to think more outside the box and everyone had a blast, even though we didn't escape. Avery was our gamemaster and she was awesome - super friendly and helpful with the hints and made the experience twice as fun, even as we were leaving the venue.
