My 2015 F150 needed a 100,000 mile service, but my past experience at the large Ford dealerships was really disappointing. The positive reviews of Escondido Auto Tech were interesting so I gave them a call to see if they could fit me in (Ford didn't have any appointments for 30 days). George was able to schedule my truck in the following Monday (2 days away). I had close to $5000 worth of work done and they were able to get it all completed in 2 days, amazing turnaround time. During the two days George keep me up to date on the progress and asked before any extra work was done that wasn't originally approved. I have now found my go to garage. I've come here before for several repairs and oil changes-- can't believe I haven't left a review yet! Not only are they prompt, communicative, and professional, but their prices are fair and their work is outstanding. Today I wanted to stop and say thank you for particularly thoughtful service. I had brought my car to a dealership for a factory recall issue, and while I was there, they insisted I needed to pay $400 to replace a cracked upper radiator hose. Not only had I not seen any sign of that issue, but that quote would be reasonable for replacing ALL the hoses in my car. I called Escondido Auto Tech, and they were able to fit me into their schedule. I explained the problem, and no more than 5 minutes later, the mechanic was back to tell me: no hose replacements needed, though they were showing mild signs of age and could use replacements eventually. He was baffled at the dealership recommendation and sent me on my way-- not even charging me for his time. Big thanks to Escondido Auto Tech. I purchased a used Toyota Highlander from a Subaru's dealership in Kearney Mesa. The transaction was pleasant at first. The front bumper started to pop out about 2 months after. I knew the car previously had a minor collision and they had to fix the front bumper. I thought it was fixed completely and legitimately. I was wrong. The dealership even told us to contact them within 90 days if I run into any issues. I called them and they were giving me the run around for a couple of months and then pointed the blame towards not coming any sooner and that the warranty was on for electrical comments. Needless to say I did not return to them due to their horrible customer service. My husband did his research and locate this place for me to bring the car in for both an oil change and to see if they can help us with the sensors/bumper issues. Made an appt. and they were able to service my car as scheduled. They helped me look at the bumper and explained the situation. Long story short, the issue has to be fixed at Toyota directly. They tried to fix the bumper but the alignment was off due to the crappy job done by Subaru's place or wherever they had it fixed last. I really appreciate that they try to help me the best that they can. After the oil change, they went through and explained everything clearly to me regarding the service and their recommendations along with the costs. David scheduled me and Jorge was the one that helped me. I don't know much about car maintenance but they were able to explained things in a way that I made it easy for me understand. My daughters 2014 Ford Fiesta broke down on her this weekend and I noticed the alternator belt had snapped. Based on Yelp reviews I had it towed to Escondido Auto Tech. The reviews held up. Even though the car got there late in the afternoon (waiting 5 hours for the tow company), Frank and the team at Auto Tech got the job completed by the end of the day. Even more impressive is their work ethic. When I picked up the car the amount due was MUCH less than the quote. Frank said he got a break on the price of the belt and passed that along to me, the customer!!! OUTSTANDING and HONEST! When I showed amazement, Frank said "that's how we've been doing business for over (30?) years and I'm not about to change it now." I like Escondido Auto Tech. They fix my chevy Tahoe very good. My light on the engine was on. They run test and know that it is bad sensor on my exhaust. They replace sensor and now the light go away. The price are good and people are honest. If I have more problems. I will bring to fix. read more

So we drive all the way only to be told they didn't have an appointment. Why tell us to come on a Wednesday am when you had openings only to be told we didn't have an appt. I wasn't looking for another mechanic since I have my own but I needed a starter replaced today and my mechanic couldn't do it till tomorrow. So I had my car towed to EAT in the early afternoon and it was done by closing time. I was happy and impressed to say the least! I didn't know what the going rate was for replacing starters, so I don't know if it was fair or not. I really didn't care because I had my car back. I was also impressed with the efficiency in dealing with my issue. Even though I thought is was a starter problem because of what other people told me, Frank told me that they would check other things that might cause my car not to start. They did replace the starter and fixed a few other issues as well. I was more than satisfied with the work they did on my car. I might even use them as my main mechanic now! He gave me a quote and told me it could possibly be higher for the service I required ( I have a diesel truck, can get tricky). I arrived at the shop, they took my truck, and called me an Uber to get back home. A few hours later, BEFORE any work was completed, George called me back to tell me it would be the original price. Everything here was seamless. I brought it in for my rear brakes hearing a grinding sound on one side. Also wanted the air conditioning recharged. I needed new rotors and rear brakes. The air condidioning they tested and it was fine. He noticed my newer rear tires wearing odd. I needed shocks. ( this van has 111,000 miles and has not had shocks done ever). I went ahead with it. The price was fair, they gave me a 15 % yelp first time discount ( added up to a lot) and had my car in and out in a timely fashion. My husband noticed how immaculate the garage was in side. My wife was hearing some noise as she used her brakes on her 2013 Honda CR-V. I called and made an appointment to bring her car in for a brake inspection. I talked to George on the phone and he was clear about the pricing, and if they did the brake job, the fee for the brake inspection would be waived. I signed up for an early morning time, and showed up about 15 minutes early this morning. Frank was there, helping another customer, but let me know that we would be right with me. When it was my turn, we filled in paperwork, handed over the keys, and Franks went off to check the vehicle. He got it right into the bay, and had his mechanic take a look. Good news! Frank said, "We could find nothing wrong, brakes had about 40% left, and there is no reason to sell you something that you don't need." I gladly paid the inspection fee (with a bit of discount for mentioning I found them on Yelp), and drove off. I got a call about an hour after dropping off the car recommending that the front rotors be replaced due to issues another mechanic business didn't notice. Flushed the brake fluid also cause the old stuff was dirty and old. Work was done by 3...got picked up at my home almost immediately. AAA discount saved me $50 too. We brought my grandmother's older Cadillac here after the dealership service department quoted $11,000 in work to be done. Our gut instinct said to get a second opinion and we are so glad we did! Drop off was smooth and we were immediately informed they had other projects so they may not even get to diagnose and inspect the car for a day or two. The next day I received a call from Frank (who is a really nice guy), who went over the details of their inspection. Most items the other service department wanted to do were totally bogus and unfounded. However, there were a few repairs to be made, which were completed in about a day. Total cost - just under $1200. (Side note: one of the items needing work was the glove box. We haven't been able to open it for years and were told by SEVERAL service centers it could not be fixed. EAT knew exactly how to fix it and without removing the dash!) We are ecstatic about every aspect of the experience. They are professional, honest, and flexible. At no time did anyone try to up sell or suggest unnecessary work to be done. Their communication is fantastic and really leaves you feeling you are working with people who genuinely care about their customers. Came here for a quick smog check since yelp had a few good reviews. I had a coupon for another location but yelp reviewers had a no-go for it so just decided to come over to get my smog done here. I'm glad I did! Arrived and waited a few minutes to be greeted by Frank but that's somewhat to be expected in a smaller shop with no receptionist. We spoke briefly and he said he's already booked up for the day so I offered to wait and see if any of his bookings don't show up. He decides to take my car in right away which is more than I expected, great customer service. His lobby had a coffee machine and I helped myself (no Starbucks run today) and when he writes everything he offers me some water. I brought in my tablet to read something but I didn't have a chance, while I was waiting it had a very nice conversation with him, saw an old time customer come in with some issues he had with another car, left happy. Another old time customer comes in to pick up an SUV and she didn't get overcharged and got some good advice telling from the conversation. I saw another old time customer come in and not only did she get great customer service and solid advice on her car, she also didn't get charged for whatever she brought the car in for! It was great to see a mechanic care about the customers he has and have such a great attitude about things. I will go there again when I need something done!
