Had an appointment for two haircuts yesterday morning. These appointments were made two weeks in…read moreadvanced and were confirmed. I usually go to agatha so ever since my sister and mom have gone to har as well, several times now. But yesterday she seemed to be in a rush. My sister's hair was not cut evenly. The back had a longer piece in the middle hanging out. The layers were not proportional at all. Her right side layers were all choppy and her left side were ok but not as noticeable. This isn't the first time she has cut my sister's hair and she has done a good job previous times. I don't know what happened. For my mom she didn't even want to wash her hair. She wet it with a spray bottle and got to work. I haven't had time to check if it's cut evenly but I will do that tonight after work. I'm sorry but I don't think it's worth $45 anymore. It's a good price but for a not so good job no thank you. Also let me mention the last time I cut my hair I had to go back because I wasn't happy with the cut. My hair just looked so much more puffy. So we had to do some adjustments and do thin sheer cutting to lessen the bulky look. I don't feel like I should have been charged $25 which I was told was the price for just blow dry but when I've done cut and blow before and I've laid $60 even. So I was overcharged for coming back to fix a haircut . I tired to upload a video but it doesn't let me so here are some screenshots .

Explained I wanted to keep the roots dark/my natural color and just have it gradually go completely light at my ends. I ended up with brassy, uneven highlights. I tried explaining that it wasn't what I asked for and the owner spent at least 15 minutes trying to convince me that I got what I wanted, then when I wasn't giving in said that I hadn't been clear with what I asked for and that I had changed my mind. She finally told me to google pictures of ombré.... She offered to have me come back and get it fixed for $80 to cover the cost of products but I will definitely be staying away. I was excited for all the good reviews but I'm not comfortable with a place that will spend more time trying to change your mind than trying to figure out what it is that you wanted in the first place. My friend did get a quick, basic trim that she was happy with. Owner was also generally kind of rude to my stylist (who was very nice and friendly) - that's just another reason for me to stay away.

I came in and she colour corrected my bad bleach and grow out. My hair instantly looked healthier and better. On my following visit she completely revitalized my hair with the most gorgeous, perfectly installed micro-bead hair extensions. I look like a brand new person. Even better was her attention to detail and her "perfectionist" tendanacies - she made sure I had no more damage and my hair literally looks like it was never the dumpster fire it used to be prior to meeting her. Very fortunately for me I didn't have to languish for long before I found Juliann! I first started seeing Juliann in the summer of 2020 when they were visiting New York from San Francisco. After months of peak-pandemic neglect, my hair desperately needed to have some life breathed into it and they did an incredible job chopping off my numerous split ends and bringing my hair to a lovely shade of lavender. Since then I've entrusted them with taking me from from varying shades of pink--including a pretty pastel shade that's still the lightest I've ever healthily pulled off to date (no mean feat for my very dark Asian hair)--to subtle ashy highlights and everything in between! You can imagine how ecstatic I am that they now have a permanent spot in New York where I can have all my hair whims satisfied! Aside from being a masterful colorist and generally awesome human being, the haircuts they give me are wonderfully textured and grow out super well. I also really appreciate that they are mindful of my hair health/goals and don't try to upsell me on products or services I don't need. Greenpoint is a trek for me but Juliann is more than worth it!
