Bean and cheese burrito!! So big and best beans ‍
    Elena L.

Definitely try this place out! We got a green chili burrito and bean and cheese burrito, both were amazing! Beans were perfect, and smooth and flavorful! The tortillas were soft and perfect as well! The green chili meat was amazing too, perfect spice, saltiness and taste! The service was 100/10, they are always the kindest here! No better service than this! I think it was the owner, but she also threw in a piece of cake, she was so nice! The place is such a cute little hole in the wall, super cute little mom and pop type of shop! I love it!

    Sweet corn tamales. Really good!

The star of the show today is the sweet corn tamale. Everything was really good, but that tamale was spectacular. See photo. Ordered posole to go so I can enjoy it for dinner. By the way, our favorite Mexican restaurant in Mesa, by far. Probably the best in the Phoenix area. We come back often. Friendly service. Great food. Daily specials always worth it! Sad to see that they are only open five days a week now. I hope that's not a sign of something troublesome. I don't know what I'd without my Mr. Pancho fix.

    Albondigas Soup

Wonderful service in quaint little restaurant. I enjoyed generous bowl of Albondigas soup. Nice meatball consistency, fresh carrots and potatoes. A tad salty but cilantro, fresh onions and lime toned it down a bit. Hubs had a massive carne asada chimichanga. Really the most flavorful meat we've had in a restaurant in years! Beans and rice were also very good. So much food- we took about 1/2 home. Just a nice experience! good authentic food, friendly service and reasonable prices. Don't hesitate and try this place. Highly recommend. ~EG Eats

Service was great would come back for the great hospitality alone! Food was good, inside was very hot , 83 outside and they had the doors open no A/C with the heat from the kitchen it was easily 87 in there not the best conditions when trying to enjoy your hot meal...

I was extremely excited to try this place as the ratings were really high. But the food did not live up to expectations. The service was amazing and explained all of the offerings and the inside is quite small but they had sports running on the tv which made it nice. The food is extremely oily and did not feel good to eat. The taste was fine but the oiliness really put it off. The horchata was not good, it was extremely blank and watery and not thick and rich.

    Cool little place!

Small restaurant off Main Street in Mesa...you'll miss it if you blink when you drive by. I'm glad I didn't blink! This is one of those "I can't wait to tell my ________ about this place" kind of....place. Was greeted by the friendliest person ever when I arrived and she treated me like a mom who wanted to stuff their son with food while he visited. I loved it! I went with a Green Enchilada style bean and cheese burrito that was soooo good! So flavorful and perfect. I also had a Cabaza Taco and an Asada Gordita. I wanted to drink the salsa that came with the chips...loved it! On a scale of 1 to 10, I'm definitely coming back here with friends! I gotta share this place with my inner circle!!!

Im sad to say I didn't have a good experience with the food. The server/cashier was extremely friendly and the people that come here seems to be frequent customers. The rice and beans were a bit bland. I'm a bit picky with my beans and need texture with it. I did enjoy my beef enchiladas replaced with beef as I'm lactose from their enchilada combo. What I regret getting was the horchata, I'm not sure how long it's been there or why it tasted sour. It seems that it's gone bad. I was trying to figure out the other flavor profiles but the sourness ruined it. I think there should be a taste test every __ hours or so to test the quality.

    Tampequena
    Daniel L.

A small Mexican restaurant with good food and service. I got the horchata, steak ranchero, and the tampequena. The horchata has free refills and is pretty decent. The steak ranchero and the tampequena both are very good. They have good seasoning and were tender. I wasn't a huge fan of their tortillas as they were a little too tough for me. Their tortilla chips weren't amazing but I'll still take free decent chips. The value is pretty good. The steak ranchero special was about $2 cheaper at $12 and the tampequena was $15.50. The horchata was $4 which is pretty pricey but the refills can make up for it.

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

The parking lot outside was parking so we thought we may have to wait, but inside was not busy yet and we were seated immediately. I ordered the smoked chicken enchilada as I saw it was a Yelp favorite and it was delicious. I ended up taking half of it home since we all filled up on chips and salsa before our meal. This restaurant is decorated so cutely. I love how there is a Baja influence with all the surf boards but also southwest appeal. There is plenty of seating and tables for big groups. Even with other people yapping around us, the noise level was perfect to enjoy company. 10/10 would recommend.
