    Pollo Tropical with Cilantro Rice

The food was amazing. I had never had Peruvian food and the standards are now high. The chicken was tender, juicy and well seasoned. The cilantro rice was soooo good. Everything was great and service was friendly and fast. The restaurant is clean and music isn't too loud. I had a pleasant time. Will be coming back if I ever visit Madison again.

Yummy! A delicious spot near the UW campus. Super flavorful and love the sauces. Great for anyone with a taste for something savory. Service is fast and it's always clean.

Absolutely underrated. If you want a spot that just takes you back to a time you were in college, skipping through streets looking for your past midnight Taco Bell, Estacion Inka hits exactly that spot. The food and the vibes tickle a funny part of the brain and fill that exact craving of an experience. Can't go wrong with any plate here for authentic Peruvian food!!

Fresh Peruvian food! The Arroz con cerdo was moist with crispy caramelized salted skin. The cilantro rice and peas were a good pairing with the black beans. The fried plantains tasted sweet.

Food: 4/5 Location: 3.5/5 This is a nice peruvian style chicken spot close to Madison campus. Their menu has a lot of different options that will a college student's budget starting at just under $10 for a quarter chicken leg with a side. We like everything that was served from the chicken, yuca, cilantro rice, to fries. The only reason for a lower rating is because I think the portion size could have been more compared to other similar restaurants I've tried. Also while great for a college student traveling on foot, parking can be very difficult especially on game day.

Estacion Inka is a place that I find myself going to at least once every two months. My favorite thing to order is the arroz con cerdo, which comes with rice, fried pork, salsa criolla, black beans, and sweet plantains. The flavors of the beans, salsa, and pork go very well together, and they're even better with the yellow and green sauces that they provide. This restaurant is more hands-off, as the customers grab their own utensils, their own water; and order at the register up front. However, the employees are very helpful and nice when ordering and the food comes out pretty quickly. The decorations of the restaurant are all related to Peru, which is a nice touch! Definitely one of my favorite lowkey spots in Madison.

Quick service, nice staff, not too crowded, relatively cheap food for a very generous serving, great tasting food. Each item on my plate had a bit of a different flavor so that they didn't all taste the same, yet they managed to blend together perfectly! Honestly I think my favorite part was the black beans lol. Strongly strongly recommend to all! I can't imagine you can find better food in Madison for a lower cost and comparable portions.

Estacion Inka is one of my favorite take out restaurants. Their online ordering process is very easy and fast, and there's usually a discount code to get 10-15% off. The pollo tropical is my favorite order! I absolutely am obsessed with the plantains and always get an extra side. We tried the Yucca Frites this time too and really liked them. I highly recommend swapping out normal rice for cilantro rice. Also, always ask for extra sauce because you'll want it. The Brassa sandwich was also a new pick for us, the chicken was super juicy and I loved the shoestring potatoes inside. Their location is a little hard for pickup, if you're driving. You can put your flashers on outside, but keep in mind that area is also a bus stop. I would recommend trying to park at the Frances St garage because usually less than 10 minutes is free. Or park on Gilman and walk.

Estacion Inka has become one of my comfort meals on campus. The sauces are just soooo flavor filled and the portion is HUGE! I would recommend this spot to anyone and everyone living in the Madison area or even just visiting.

The food was fantastic! I ordered the veggie platter and I completely cleaned the plate (but I shouldn't have because I was overly stuffed). The black beans were filled with so much flavor and the cilantro rice was the tastiest plain rice I've ever had. The sweet plantains were yummy as expected. I would definitely eat here again. The location is great and in walking distance from many places. Inside is fairly large with seating available. The ambiance on a Monday evening was chill and idea group was able to chat and relax. Service - you order at the counter and they bring the food right out to you. There is a self service station with cups, water, silverware, and sauces.

1/4 (chicken) Pollo a la Brasa with yuca fritas (fried) and hot green salsa, Cuarto de Pollo

The food had amazing flavor, and a variety of salsas/sauces with different spice levels. Service was good, with a self serve station to drinks and utensils. Napkins are provided on the table and self clean up.

Lunch special is a great deal. Food was as good as usual--this is a staple of Madison. Highly recommend trying the beans and rice (white or cilantro). Service is quick, and the restaurant itself has good music in the background.

If you haven't been to Estacion Inca yet, I have one question for you - what are you waiting for? The Peruvian restaurant serves some of the highest quality and flavorful food in Madison. The chicken is mouthwatering and you can't go wrong with any of the available sides or juices. Visit this spot soon and enjoy one of the best meals you'll have in town!

Probably the best Peruvian place in Madison. Very tasty, and good price. Close to the lake, you can take out and eat by the lake.

Food was ok, Lomo Salteado was a bit salty and overcooked. I would go back and try the chicken, as that looks good.

Weary is an eclectic space that is full of a hodgepodge of artwork, mirrors, lighting, decor and a bunch of random items that just make sense together. The vibe here is uniquely local for this part of Madison and from the moment you enter through the large ornate wooden door, you are teleported into a special space where a good time is sure to be had! We have come here for Friday Fish Fry, weekday lunch and weekend brunch, and we have never left unhappy or hungry. The menu is made up of mostly classic dishes such as salads, soups, burgers and sandwiches, with a few mains like steak frites and pork chop. Brunch has your classic brunch dishes such as breakfast plates, biscuits and gravy, burrito and of course, French toast. The fish fry is excellent here, especially the pan fried version, which still provides the light, crisp and fresh fish but less the thick breading. For brunch, the breakfast burrito add sausage was spot on and super tasty! For cocktail, they have a stellar menu of house curated cocktails. For brunch, I went with the Bloody Mary and outside of brunch hours, I gravitate to the Killer Bees Knees gin based cocktail. I will grab a beer on occasion, but the cocktails are too good to pass up! Service is always stellar here whether we are sat in the dining room or bellied up to the bar. Overall, absolutely in love The Weary Traveler Freehouse!

Food? life-changing fried chicken, cheese curds, and cocktails that I'm still not over. Environment? somehow cozy and cool at the same time. This is the kind of place that feels way too unique to ever become a chain... which is devastating news because I desperately wish there was one in Kansas City. And honestly, that's probably why it's so special. It feels deeply Madison in the best way- intentional, high quality, and focused on doing their thing really, really well. Also, shoutout to Ian, the manager, who was amazing and made an already great experience even better with trinkets! Overall, nothing to write home about, but nothing bad. I ordered the Butterbird Classic (fried chicken sandwich) but removed the pickles. I got the sauce on the side. I'd been worried the lettuce would overtake the chicken, but it was a very small amount of lettuce that really had no impact either way on the sandwich. The chicken thigh was a decent size and cooked very nicely. There wasn't much to it, it didn't really have much flavor, but again it wasn't bad at all. I tried one bite without the sauce, then added a small amount of sauce. It's got a dill vibe going on which I dislike, so I did not add any more, but the sauce did help with some flavor. My co-worker got her sandwich with the sauce on it, and it was also a very small amount of sauce. On the side, I got way more sauce and gave the rest of mine to her. She used almost all of it.   I also got the French fries with my order. They were good fries where I did not feel any need to use ketchup with them. We all commented that they reminded of us McDonald's fries, but obviously a little bit more gourmet. Another coworker got the coleslaw instead of fries, and said that it was good but way less substantial than the fries. So, the food didn't live up to the hype, and I'm not sure I'd spend the money again, but I do really want to try their Old Fashioned on Tap... so I might have to go visit in person when I'm not working and get another order.
