Peruvian food, delicious food very tasty, you can make reservations or walk in. They have full bar, the ambience is nice, clean restaurant. The host are very welcoming and the waiters are great too. I highly recommend this spot.

First time in Madison and needed somewhere to grab lunch and decided to take a chance on Mishqui! There was another group eating at around 11:15 AM on a Sunday, so we were quickly seated and helped. The space is really nice, spacious, with music playing. Ordered the fried yucca, and also the chicken tamal, which is part of their current Peruvian independence menu. The yucca came out quickly with tartar sauce, and was extremely fresh. It was delicious! Soon after the entrees came out, and the chicken tamal was great. I was surprised that the chicken had a bone but it was so tender that there was no issues. Really nice space, good food, and nice place to stop by for a meal!

The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The empanadas were good and I liked their sauces. The shrimp ceviche was excellent, I expected it to be chopped and served with chips, but the shrimp came out whole with the tail. We shared a half rotisserie chicken and it looked good, but was slightly dry and not a very high quality protein. The service was attentive and the atmosphere comfortable.

Portions were large and filling, and food was mostly good. Some of the meat was a bit dry, especially parts of the rotisserie chicken, and the sweet plantains were also dry and not as sweet as I would have preferred. However, I absolutely loved the seafood paella and would definitely recommend it!

I've been to the Monona location and was impressed by it so was excited to try the downtown location. Unfortunately, my experience here was marred with incredibly slow service. With only 5 occupied tables, it took almost 10 minutes to get our drink orders in and another 10 to receive them. After ordering our food, it was another 30 minutes for the food to get to the table. No apologies or acknowledgement. No check-in after the food to see how the food was or if we needed another cocktail. Foodwise, it was fine. My rotisserie chicken was in the dry side but thr chaufa was very good. With the poor service flaws, I won't be back. A shame about the automatic 18% gratuity as the service put forward tonight was not worthy of it.

I stopped by on a Saturday for lunch. The place was not busy. Ground beef Peruvian empanada was an excellent appetizer. Coconut squash cream soup was really good, creamy and smooth. Rotisserie chicken entree was very flavorful. Chicken fried rice was another flavorful entree. I went for a horchata and chicha morada. Both were really good drinks. It is nice to see a third Misqui restaurant around.

I was skeptical when I realized we had to order our food at the counter vs. being seated and served. I didn't like having to pay gratuity prior to being provided any service. We ordered Chilaquiles and the French Toast. The chilaquiles was not authentic but we really liked it! Would definitely recommend. Same for the French toast! Yummy. The fruit was so sweet and fresh. The almonds were a nice touch. 5 Stars for the food. I liked that the water was self service. I liked that take out boxes were readily available. I didn't have to ask or wait in either case. I think the only negative of our visit was having to find parking.

I've ordered the same thing both times because I loved it so much- the Three Grain & Tempeh Bowl. It's so fresh and delicious, filling without making you feel over-full and gross. She had the Mushroom & Gouda Omelette and also very much enjoyed. The seating space is small so you can definitely run into a wait during busy times, but service moves fast! You'll order at the counter and be handed a number to take to your table, where the food will be delivered. During busy times I've seen them try to help coordinate seating arrangements but it is otherwise largely a seat yourself sort of place. Next on my list are the lemon ricotta pancakes which are reportedly famous and a turmeric cookie I spotted in the bakery section :)

You have to order at the counter first and then your party gets sat at your designated table. I ordered the blind, which is a chef's choice. You're able to ask if the dish is savory or sweet and that's it. You can ask what the dish is but then the price will go from 10$ to 15$. They do ask if you have any allergies in case they do need to alter the dish. Not gonna disclose what the dish was, but it tasted great! It's really unfortunate that the business is closing in May, so I definitely recommend to go while they're still open!
