Beautiful, unique, and tasty Vog Cutter cocktail. Lovely environment. Good guacamole. Bartender couldn't have been more disengaged until one smile when she brought the check. Service makes such a difference in the experience for me that I'd really give this a 3.5 stars because of the apathetic service.

Stumbled upon this bar our last night visiting Maui, and it was such a delight! Adam, our bartender, took great care of us. I started with the Only Fans, which was crisp and refreshing. Next was their Mai Tai, which was far more authentic than all the touristy punch-like liquid I was drinking all week prior to this. I also tried the Mad Hatter, which is quite good if you're looking for something on the heartier, creamier side. Vibes are whimsical and clean. There is a parking lot right beside the bar.

Esters is a great tiki bar with local/ neighborhood bar vibes. I had the Mai Tai but it was a difficult choice, their personalization and twists on classic tiki drinks all sounded delicious. Inside is gorgeous and gives all the tiki vibes you need. We sat on the street-side patio and enjoyed the beautiful weather, some dog table neighbors, and a relaxed setting. Got some yummy Guac to balance with the beverages and would love to see more default vegan options for snacks. Ester's is a busy, lively place. Located in "downtown" Maui, prepare to meter park a few blocks away and walk. Highly recommend Ester's for solid drinks and a comfortable neighborhood bar feel in an exotic place! And if they bring back the "Last Call" drink - that's a fun one!

We visited Esters Fair Prospect on our trip to Maui just over a year ago, and we loved it! It's a cute, vibrant cocktail bar, and it was packed when we went during happy hour. Everyone was talking to each other, and it was fun to meet locals. They offer farm to table small plates and tropical drinks. We had the guacamole as a snack. They had a special on their classic daiquiri, and it was delicious.

The cutest, coziest, vibey tiki/cocktail bar in Maui minus the tourists. :) My husband and I were visiting from out of town and staying in Wailuku. We were so pleased to find EFP when scouring yelp for a local cocktail bar. Upon walking in you're surrounded by different seating, an eclectic atmosphere with great music and funky decor. We found this spot to be primarily filled with locals which made the vibes 10x better. The drinks were spot on. We ordered the Milk Punch, Velvet Elvis, Kali & Fernando and a beer. On the side we ordered the oysters and let me tell you... I'm still dreaming about the mignonette they were topped with. The staff and service was impeccable. Shout out to Kyle the head chef (ps: they have a small but tasty snack menu) - we even got to enjoy a few cocktails with him after his shift. This is your PSA to sit at the bar and mingle with the staff and locals. 10/10 recommend visiting Esters the next time you're in Maui! ** there is a small parking lot attached in case you're driving here!

Thank you, Esters, for being open when we needed you. We wanted to have a drink with friends before the theater doors opened. You provided us with a friendly place out of the rain to chat and sip. I had the Maui Brewing Co. Coconut Porter and Bar Ba poured it like a pro. We shared the Guacamole & Chips appetizer. Not as spicy as I would like and a bit heavy on the lime, but it was fresh and tasty. Maybe this is their signature. Plenty of chips included. Definitely our go-to drinking hole in Wailuku.

The drinks are hand crafted by some of the best bartenders around. Everyone who works here knows what they are DOING. People are friendly and there always happens to be the perfect amount of people there? Hahaha indoor and outdoor options for seating. The apps are good- my fav is the grilled cheese one-I forget the name but it's CRACK. Anyways, if you're even considering come here you can assure yourself it's a great choice.

Best tiki cocktail bar on Maui bar-none! Happy hour is every day from 3-6pm. We showed up a little before happy hour ended and ordered a couple of the classic daiquiris to start with. They were great and a steal at $8. Then we stayed for another round off the regular menu. I had a Surf and Go Naked and my husband ordered a Comfortably Numb. We enjoyed both and probably would've stayed for another if we hadn't had plans after. Great vibes and service. read more

Great new spot. Bartenders were fun and made some good drinks. For someone who usually drinks whiskey, they really turned me onto rum. I travel to Maui at least once a year and will make sure to stop by this bar every time for some good specialty drinks. Has good music and a nice patio to hang out on also. read more

We wanted to go here to celebrate a birthday with our kids. We tried to call several times and looked on the website to make sure it was suitable for families. No one answered and nowhere did it say it's 21 and over. When we arrived, we were informed that there is only 21 and over. All good on that, but when I mentioned I tried to call they said "yeah, we don't have a phone" like it was cool. So I mentioned they may want to post that it was 21 and over somewhere on their listings. The response: "Yeah, we"ll get around to it sometime." It's really dissatisfying to go all the way to a restaurant and be treated like that. We have 3 kids and it's a lot of work to park and do all the things to get to a restaurant - but he wasn't even apologetic. Like we should have know when there isn't any way to know. read more

In my last ten years of living in Wailuku, Ester's has quickly become one of my favorite additions to this lovely town. I love catching up with friends here over a couple of drinks or also getting some work done on my laptop at one of the bar stools. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting and the handcrafted cocktails always get my creative juices flowing. I think I have straight A's due in part to Ester's and their motivational cocktails haha. But for real, I can't rave enough about the atmosphere, the interior style is right up my design alley and you can see the craftsmanship that has been put into all the details. From their fun floors to the woodwork around the bar...I'm smitten. The cocktails are stellar and not overwhelmingly sweet which I can appreciate. Insanely sugar laden cocktails aren't my thing. My favorites are the Madam Butterfly and the Surf n Go Naked. Bangin' ceviche on the menu as well. I really can't say enough good things about this place and feel beyond well taken care of when I visit...which has become a weekly occurrence. read more

Here's why this is the best tiki bar my husband and I have ever been to: (1) It has an amazing master mixologist who makes the most divine tiki cocktails (2) who can whip up an amazing mocktail on the spot too; (3) it is the only tiki bar we have been to that is not chock-full of cultural appropriation (sorry-not-sorry if you're a tiki die-hard and this observation triggers you); (4) it has a very nice unpretentious atmosphere. read more

What a true Gem!!! I can honestly say it's the best place for drinks made by true pros! I've not gotten a bad cocktail and or service there. It's the first place I take my friends visiting once I collect them at airport! It's not pretentious to tourist and prices are reasonable! Great HH to boot! This was the second place I walked to after settling into my Airbnb. Colton was amazing. He immediately greeted me when I walked in. They don't serve food so I got food next door and came back to eat here. Colton brought me water without me even asking. His vibe was inviting fun and playful. So even after I was done eating I decided to stay a bit longer to just enjoy the atmosphere and talk to Colton behind the bar for a bit. He truly set the tone and mood for my trip to Hawai'i. Which I wanted it to be a playful fun mood. So I'm super thankful he was one of the first people I met here. I highly recommend this place. Hopefully I will be back soon. read more

Please please visit this bar in Maui. It's a little out of the way, but it's an authentic tiki bar with great concoctions for drinks, music and conversation. I forget the name of our bar tender (from NYC!) but he was extremely knowledgeable on the history of tiki bars, Mai Tais and was super friendly. We met plenty of locals there for a good time. Not a tourist trap :) read more

This place actually looked sick. We heard good things so the review isn't really for the place. We came in 2 family's with babies under 1 hoping to sit outside and just get a quick drink on our way. 6 people to drink and 2 moms. Immediately turned away. We've been to probably 30 bar restaurants like this since we've had our baby and it's never been a problem. Just a bummer as those friends were visiting. Seemed more like they didn't want families around then it being a worry about us feeding 2 babies alcohol read more

AWESOME cocktail bar that can hang with the best of them. We sampled four different drinks and loved every one. Vibe on a Friday night was upbeat, lively and welcoming despite not having a reservation. Bartenders were super friendly and seasoned vets in navigating subsequent flavor profiles based on your previous drink order/spirit preference - exactly what you'd want in a craft cocktail bar. I thought Maui would be an amazing experience with its beautiful beaches, amazing landscapes, and world-class golf courses, but I never thought that absolute best thing my girlfriend and I did in Maui was go to Esters Fair Prospect in Wailuku! I have no doubt that Colten was sent directly from the heavens above to bartend. A genuine taste of class with a quick service, wonderful cocktails, and a one-of-kind personality! A visit to Maui without being acquitted with Colten would be an experience to remember, but a visit with Colten would truly make a any visit to Maui something to tell your kids about! read more

My wife found out about this place as she researched LGBTQ+ friendly establishments as well as great craft cocktails! We also loved that this was a women-owned and something local that we could support. Their offerings in the beverage department were nothing short of delicious. From sweet to sour to spirit-forward, they have something for everyone. The bartender was awesome and we really enjoyed Suzanne! They were so nice the second we walked in and they were both so helpful while we struggled to make decisions as everything sounded so good! We tried a few different cocktails and each were equally delightful. They were flavorful without being too sweet and each had a wonderful balance. There is a nice sized patio with a little shade, but you can also sit inside and feel the tropical breeze trickling through. The vibe here is very laid back and relaxing with some class sprinkled in. I highly recommend checking this place out for at least one libation before, during, or after a meal! read more

This was my first time here and I have to say, I'm highly impressed! I'm personally picky about the bars I go to, but this place is neat and clean, great atmosphere, AMAZING drinks (including its presentation), and welcoming + friendly staff! This is a great place to go to if you're looking to have a nice kick back with some friends. They have a pretty good variety on alcoholic drinks, and you can choose to sit inside or outside. I would definitely come again, and I can't wait to try some more. My favorite so far is the Milk Punch and Madam Butterfly! read more

We found this place on a whim, late evening after many nearby restaurants were closed. Great cocktails, the menu items were awesome and our party of 4 had a great time just hanging out. Seemed more like a neighborhood spot, which was pretty cool. I recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

The garlic fries were perfectly fried and crispy and had a great garlic flavor and kick. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to island.

Esters Fair Prospect is hands down one of my favorite spots on Maui! From the atmosphere to the drinks and food, everything about this place is amazing. Jess, the owner, has created such a fun, welcoming, and unforgettable experience. The bartenders Noe, Zig, and Delilah are all incredible -- super friendly, attentive, and always making sure you're having the best time. The drinks are absolutely to die for. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite is the "Only Fans," but every single drink I've tried has been amazing and completely worth it. If you're into craft cocktails, this place is a must-visit because you truly won't be disappointed. And the FOOD... wow. SHOUT OUT TO THE DUMP TRUCK MAUI ----The bao buns & everything on the menu are insanely good and definitely a must-try!! I came in with some friends on a Friday night. I ordered 1 drink. I was given 1 drink. An hour went by... and two... and I still had 1 drink. Bar is closing up by midnight... if it wasn't for my friend speaking up and asking for some service, there would have been no way to get another drink. We shared the Mixed Charcuterie which really was the best of both worlds, meat and cheese wise! There was an assortment of cubed cheese, Brie and another Whipped Cheese on the side, some Marcona almonds (that's definitely a favorite now! It tastes like cashews and are more round) that was soaked in Olive oil, Fig Jam, Honey, Grapes, Cornichons (the cutest pickles), Olive Tapenade, Olives, Prosciutto, Salami, Dried Apricot, Side of Ciabatta bread and some Rosemary Crackers! We could've shared Half of a Charcuterie board for the 2 of us. This full board can feed 3-5 people unless you're super hungry. My friend enjoyed the Lady and the Scamp more than me. I love mustard but the Dijon aioli was a bit too strong for me. Ambiance is wonderful especially after a long work week! Great to treat yourself once in awhile.
