My family and I recently dined at Estia in Marlton and unfortunately left extremely disappointed. We were genuinely looking forward to the experience, and while the atmosphere was beautiful and inviting, the service fell far below expectations. Throughout our reservation and dinner, we were polite and patient. However, our server, Reagan B., was inattentive and appeared unfamiliar with the menu. It genuinely felt as though she may have needed additional training, as there were multiple order errors despite our requests being very simple and clearly stated. We ordered the Trio Spreads appetizer and specifically named the three spreads we wanted (there are only four options total). When it arrived, two were correct, and one was not what we ordered. When we pointed this out, she asked if we still wanted the correct spread brought out, which of course we did, as the appetizer is $20. We assumed the incorrect spread would be removed from the bill since none of us ate it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We were charged an additional $9 for the correct spread, essentially paying for a mistake that was not ours. There was also an issue with a side order. One member of our party ordered spanakorizo with their entrée and was asked whether they preferred it red or white. Instead, orzo was brought out, a completely different dish. We calmly explained the mix-up and asked for the spanakorizo. In the end, we were charged for both sides, including the one we never ordered ($11). As former service industry professionals ourselves, we understand that mistakes happen. What matters is how they're handled. Rather than offering a clear apology, Reagan repeatedly responded with "I thought you said this," insisting that we had misspoken. That was simply not the case. We are Greek ourselves, we know the dishes well, and we were very clear in what we ordered. A sincere apology and correcting the bill would have gone a long way. Instead, we left feeling dismissed, overcharged, and unheard. At a certain point, we felt defeated. The restaurant was busy and we did not want to create a scene or cause a disruption, so we paid the bill and left, knowing we would not be returning. The tzatziki and lamb shank were enjoyable, but overall the food was mediocre for the price point. Between the multiple errors and the billing issues, the experience did not reflect the standards we expected. It's disappointing because the ambiance is lovely and the restaurant has potential. However, due to the service and billing concerns, we will unfortunately not be coming back. To add on top of this, I posted this review on Google about a week ago and it is no longer there. I am not sure why I took so long to come here. The ambience here is great for dates and Greek food lovers. When you look up at the ceiling, you will feel like you are in the hull of a ship. I ordered the calamari which wasn't bad at all. When my main dish came out, the lamb chops, wow, they were cooked to perfection. They came with these large steak fries. The fries weren't bad, but I should have substituted them for veggies. My lady had the sea bass. When she offered me some, not only was it tasty, it was packed with so many flavors. Overall, Estia is underrated south NJ restaurant. A must visit place if you want to have a great food experience. Shout out to Shannon, our server for making the night fun. Went with a big group for our first visit, some of our friends who joined us had already experienced the food, drinks and lovely atmosphere. They found us a comfortable spot to fit 11 of us and the service was friendly, informative and attentive. the beets - the oysters - the eggplant, the wonders of their menu started early with the appetizers and the entrees offered just as much joy. I was in town after 8 years of not visiting and my dear friend wanted to take me here for my birthday. Our server Brandon was as pleasant, polite and efficient and made for a memorable evening. The food was outstanding and I vowed I would not eat the octopus but I did and it was delicious. We also got the stacked zucchini and eggplant chips and it was also outstanding. The decor is warm and welcoming and made you feel you were really at a taverna in Greece. Just a side note, I always wanted to try the dessert "Ekmek" and it was delicious but that is the incorrect name, it should be "Ekmek Khadaifi." read more

This weekend's dinner date night was at Estia - Marlton, NJ! We were very fortunate to have gotten Anna G. As our server - she was awesome! Between her phenomenal service and fantastic food and drinks, this was the best experience ever. We started with their delicious hummus and artisan bread. This was followed by their beet and their calamari appetizers - wonderful!!! Their calamari was very lightly battered and served with a tasty spicy marinara sauce - absolutely a home run combo... My wife enjoyed their tuna served with their beets and a mountain of spinach topped with a Feta sauce! I had their lamb shank that was accompanied by perfectly cooked orzo with their signature marinara sauce. For dessert, we shared their Ekmek--- a pistachio custard server over caramelized phyllo dough and topped with a tasty whipped cream that was crusted with ground pistachios! A nice way to complement a fantastic appetizers & dinner! Our dining experience was put over the top by our server, Anna G. I used to like it here years ago, but I have to say it has definitely gone downhill. I ordered salmon and I made sure to order it well done which It did say on my receipt, but it was rare like sushi. I did not eat it and when I was there the time before my food was not good, so not sure I will be back here. read more

The food here was sooooo good. Calamari was big and lightly done. The zucchini chips are to die for. Fried, on fire Greek cheese delightful. We got lots of different entrees and all tasty. We went here after an all day meeting and let me tell you it was a wonderful treat at the end of a long day. We had a party of 14 but there was plenty of space. You wouldn't believe how large the interior is. It just didn't look that big from the outside. The higher ceilings seem to keep it from being too noisy. We got at least one of pretty much every appetizer. The meatballs were delicious. Also I've been so into calamari lately. The table bread comes with hummus which is a nice change of speed from butter. I got the Tuna Tartare and it was amazing. Everyone seemed to get fish and I tried them all. I got a side of white orzo with caramelized onions and I think that was my favorite thing. I'm sure that's weird because it's just a side but it was so good. I have no idea why there aren't more full service Greek restaurants around. Even if there were, Estia would be at the pinnacle. The place was slammed on a Wednesday night at 6pm with people who want to be seen. It's a place to dress up, grab a cocktail or two, maybe some small plates at the bar, and enjoy your evening with friends. Or grab a table and have a truly amazing meal. Seafood is ultra fresh. I ordered the tuna dinner and it looked more like a spinach main entree with a side (small) of tuna. $40 for this (no beets added), you must be out of your mind. Ok we're going to up this rating to 10 stars. For $59 which may sound like a lot you get a ton of meat in the 12 oz selection. I would say it's equal to or greater than a 22 oz prime rib with bone in. The chef recommends medium rare which we both got. You may wish to sear it a little more to medium. I didn't get a picture of the calamari appetizer which probably had at least 30 pieces! Fantastic dipping sauce! Ambience is totally satisfactory as the place is always busy but service is attentive. Walking into Estia is like walking into a family member's house. You are hit with a warm and welcoming feeling that makes you excited for what is yet to come. I highly recommend making a reservation because it does get crowded. However if you do not, you can always try to grab a seat at the bar. Estia has a full service bar that has a nice wine selection. They also offer cocktails that are sure to please every taste bud. Now onto the food! I went with a group of people and everyone loved their dishes! We started with the Mediterranean Spread and octopus. For the Mediterranean spread we ordered Tzatziki, Htipti, and Melitano. They were all incredible! The Tzatziki tasted fresh and had a nice hit of lemon. The Htipti was amazing! The roasted red pepper provided a nice kick with a tiny bit of sweetness. The Melitano was my absolute favorite! The eggplant was smoked to perfection and every bite made you want more and more. All of these spreads paired nicely with their house made pita bread and their vegetables. The octopus was cut more on the thicker side and at first I was a little skeptical but once I took my first bite, that all went away. The octopus was grilled to perfection! It was tender and melted in your mouth. Each bite had a charcoal taste that was salty and lemony which is the perfect paring for octopus. It was so good that I had a hard time putting my fork down because I wanted more and more. The appetizers set the mood for what is about to come. For the main course, we ordered Swordfish kebab, Lamb chops, Organic chicken, Mixed seafood orzo, Lobster Linguini, and Moussaka. Everything was delicious! The Swordfish was tender but yet every single bite melted in your mouth. They paired it with lemon, roasted tomatoes, green peppers, and onions. Everything paired nicely and nothing was left behind. The Lamb Chops were seasoned well and melted in your mouth. It had a nice charred taste to it making you want to savor every single bite. The organic chicken was cooked the way you want every chicken cooked. It was tender and juicy. You had chicken with every single bite and trust me that is what you wanted to have happen. The lemon was a nice touch because it brought the whole dish together. The Mixed Seafood Orzo was fresh and delicious. The mussels, shrimp, and calamari tasted like they were caught that morning. It was so fresh, light, airy and the feta cheese tied everything together. I highly recommend ordering this dish. The Lobster Linguini did not disappoint! You had lobster in every bite you took. The marinara sauce paired nicely with the lobster and linguini. Last but not least was the Moussaka. It was a Greek casserole that had eggplant and ground beef in it. The seasoning was out of this world! Everything was season perfectly which made it difficult to put your fork down. Overall Estia offers a great dining experience. It is a great place to catch up with friends, go out with family, or have a date night. The food is truly incredible here. I went to the one in Philadelphia and really enjoyed it so I decided to give this location a try. I loved it just as much! I got the prix fixe menu which I think it's worth the cost since you get to try a little bit of everything the restaurant has to offer. My favorite were the tuna tartare, octopus, lavraki, and lamb chops. I have to say their complimentary bread paired with the creamy hummus was delicious. The service was good. i would like to open with the fact that i got married in Greece and am familiar with their cuisine and quality of service and food. This place was such a reminder of my time in Greece and felt so nostalgic and refreshing. Octopus was cooked perfectly! The gelato and sorbet were perfectly refreshing and delicious. I found the decor of the place did remind me a lot of little shopping centers and inns in Santorini. Their complimentary bread and hummus was yummy. As soon as we walked in the door the ambiance transported us to the Grecian isles we look forward to visiting on a future vacation. We had a Greek white wine which was perfect for our calamari, Greek salad, and our entrees from the Prix fixe menu. My first visit here. Appetizer-wise we ordered the Dolmades and sauteed Calamari. Both tasted fresh and were great. Never had sauteed calamari before but it's a pleasant alternative to the usual fried/battered calamari. Entrees we had were the Lamb chops and Moussaka. Lamb chops and the fried side potatoes were rather good. The lamb did not have a gamy taste and was cooked just right. Moussaka flavor was on point but could have used more eggplant. We had greek yogurt for dessert. While the taste/flavor was nicely smooth and rich, the size was rather small for its $10 price. They have a fixed price menu which also includes greek yogurt as an option. Makes me wonder if there is a size difference between that fixed price version and one that's separately ordered. read more

I love everything about this place. In the moment you walk in and the beautiful open area interior dome ceilings, internal ceiling lighting, the stonework the tables everything is just absolutely transformative. The beautiful fresh caught fish and veggies display by the kitchen and the always amazing hostesses are great segway to an amazing meal. I've been to this Restaurant several times - our go to date night spot and I've never had, a negative experience with the service or food.
