I've always heard great things about Estia, and despite living so close this was my first time here. Four of us arrived at 7pm on a Saturday night, and as expected it was very busy. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed was the large fresh seafood display over ice and the very beautiful brickwork and decor. We were lucky to get two seats at the bar and were able to have couple of drinks while we waited for a couple more seats to open up. I started with a beer just because I find it easier to drink a beer while standing rather than have to constantly worry about reaching for my martini glass. The beer list wasn't the most inspiring, but I did choose an IPA that I've never had before which I very much enjoyed. I ordered a Manhattan once I was able to sit & relax. It was nicely presented, and was rich and smooth tasting. Along with hearing great things about the seafood and appetizers here, I've always heard Estia mixes a great cocktail. We started with an order of fried calamari and Estia chips to split. The calamari was lightly fried to perfection, tender, and served with a spicy marinara. My fiancé has always raved about the Estia chips and now I can see why. Thin and crisp zucchini chips served with a refreshingly cool tzatziki sauce. I would order either of these appetizers again and would recommend them to any first time Estia patrons. For dinner, I made another selection off of the appetizer list and went with the Octopodi. Recommended to me by the bartender, I was incredibly pleased with my choice. I thought the presentation was beautiful, the octopus was tender and charred perfectly, and fava purée it was served over was such a nice complimentary texture and flavor. My fiancé ordered a romaine salad which I ended up eating half of. I found the creamy dill dressing to be unique and brought a very fresh, invigorating flavor to the salad. While standing at the bar we were speaking to a few regulars. They had such great things to say about Estia and both raved about their dinners they had that night (one ordered tuna and the other ordered salmon - and both entrees looked incredible). When we first arrived another couple offered to shift down a seat to allow us to sit. The reason a bring this up is because everyone we came in contact with that night, from guests to employees, were friendly, welcoming, and made the atmosphere feel almost family-like. Great experience from start to finish and I will make it a point to dine here in the near future.

Stopped by for happy hour and can't wait to return again. Great happy hour menu with plenty of food and drink options! It was my first time dining inside and I loved the decor. Service was also outstanding! Our waitress was so kind and helpful! We ordered glasses of Moschofilero, which was refreshing and crisp. For food, we shared the calamari, spinach pie, dolmades and half dozen oysters. Everything was a 10/10! My favorite was the spinach pie and oysters. Off of the happy hour menu, we ordered the Greek cheesecake. Unique, delicious and not overly sweet!

I am not sure why I took so long to come here. The ambience here is great for dates and Greek food lovers. When you look up at the ceiling, you will feel like you are in the hull of a ship. I ordered the calamari which wasn't bad at all. When my main dish came out, the lamb chops, wow, they were cooked to perfection. They came with these large steak fries. The fries weren't bad, but I should have substituted them for veggies. My lady had the sea bass. When she offered me some, not only was it tasty, it was packed with so many flavors. Overall, Estia is underrated south NJ restaurant. A must visit place if you want to have a great food experience. Shout out to Shannon, our server for making the night fun. She was very attentive and friendly.

I've had the pleasure of dining at Estia Taverna a few times and consistently loved it! The bar area is quaint and perfect to catch up with friends. They always have creative craft cocktails on their menu. My last time there was for a business dinner. Everyone njoyed how fresh each selection was and how amazing and attentive the staff were. I highly recommend you visit!!

This has become my Italian husband and my favorite spot. We came here when we were dating and now come especially for anniversaries. The atmosphere is great, the service superb and the food is authentic Greek! And yummy!

    Lame tuna steak dinner

Wow expensive and you might leave hungry unless you order a lot or order extra bread and hummus. I ordered the tuna dinner and it looked more like a spinach main entree with a side (small) of tuna. $40 for this (no beets added), you must be out of your mind. I expected a tuna steak as the main attraction. Service was good ambience is beautiful

Ambiance, service and food is great! Been here twice and both times with young children and it's still like a real date night! Lamb chops are my favorite here along with a nice bottle of Greek white wine!

Restless little ones blocked the entry, setting the tone for my overall Saturday evening experience. That Norma's is popular, there can be no doubt. We had no reservations, and felt lucky to snag a table. The place was bustling, servers had their hands full, we were obliged to be patient until ours arrived. I love Norma's menu -- my partner is vegetarian, so Mediterranean works great for us. I went the veggie route as well, starting with a lentil and ckickpea soup that was hot and savory and the high point of my meal. Other appetizers we enjoyed were the spanikopita and the cheese manaeesh, second to none. My veggie skewer was perfectly charred yet light. After such a promising start, then, our entrees came as quite a disappointment. My partner opted for the falafel salad, and while Norma's falafel are indeed superior, the salad was a bit of a mess, too ... wet, diluting the dressing, leaving runny runoff on the plate. But the greatest misfire wss the mixed kabobs entree I ordered. Everything about it was underwhelming -- these are signature items that should be stand+outs, but weren't. The kabobs were just okay, lacking in appeal, resting on a bed of rice that was unremarkable except for how cold it was. I suspect my plate had been held too long. I know they would have fixed it had I asked -- but seriously, I was up to *here* with all the kids. While I was eating, a woman behind me gathered up her gaggle of tots, squeezing out of the way to make room for a baby carriage the size of a Volkswagen. Does Norma's deserve a second chance? Sure. Next time, I'll stick with the appetizers and stay close to my wine glass lest the kindergarteners in my vicinity cause my nerves to fray.

It was a chance to refresh from the heat and grab a bite. With all the choice of restaurants, we did not choose well. The three of us were in there almost an hour to have lunch. Two of us ordered the shrimp kebab entrees, one ordered the chicken kebab. It took almost half an hour for those to come out. The shrimp plate had only THREE shrimp! For $21. The chicken plate had FOUR small pieces of chicken. Service was terrible and the food was just OK, although the vegetables were good. The surprise came when the bill was delivered. They do not provide change!!! If you pay a $61 check with a $100 bill, or any bills greater than the amount, you get nothing back! They just presume that's what you want to tip! I never heard of such a thing. We didn't have a lot of small bills with us after shopping at the festival, and had not expected such an absurd policy. So we paid as they requested, with exact change to meet the bill. The waiter got himself a 96 cent tip. No manager was available to ask why there was such a ridiculous policy. None of us would ever ever ever go back to this restaurant ever again. There are so many good restaurants over there, my suggestion is to try anywhere else.

All of the toppings for the bowls looked delicious and absolutely fresh so I made my own concoction with chicken schwarma, super greens, brown rice and literally 10 other toppings including lentils, tzatziki, cucumber salad, olives, couscous and a partridge in a pear tree lol. Soooooo many options all delicious. They also make their crispy pita chips to order so I added a portion to my meal and happily waited the 2-3 minutes for them to be dropped and fried to the perfect golden crispy consistency. I also got the cucumber mint refresher which was sugar free and refreshing! My entire meal was delicious and I'm honestly thinking about the next time I'll be able to go back because it was not just a yummy lunch but pretty healthy overall minus those pita chips ;) Oh and the customer service was wonderful as well.
