Great food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and servers who make the experience even better. I was first introduced to Estoril by a friend of mine who had nothing but good things to say about the restaurant. When I was able to tag along for a visit, it was easy to see where his opinion came from. Walking in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The bulk of my experiences have been on the lounge side, which is set up with tables around the walls which surround a leather sofa and chairs which are the perfect spot to relax prior to or following the great meal which you are bound to have. The bar sits opposite the doorway, and is a great spot to spark up some conversation with the servers, who always seem to have a jovial disposition. The menu is traditional Portuguese, and is lined with a plethora of dishes which can suit a party with differing tastes. While the appetizers are similar to that of other Portuguese restaurants, subtle twists in the preparation yield great results in the final product. Not only the flavor, but the size of the appetizers is much larger than most are accustomed to in other restaurants. When it comes to the entrees, I only have to use two words to describe my recommendation. Portuguese steak. Living in this area, I've had the ability to visit many similar restaurants with the same dish. While all have the same idea for the meal, the way in which Estoril serves the steak is head and shoulders above the rest. The sauce makes this dish really pop, and, if it were possible, I would bottle it up and put it on pretty much everything I make. A thick, rich, gravy style sauce with sautéed garlic surrounds the prime cut of beef that the restaurant serves. Always cooked to perfection with great sides this dish is truly something to experience. Don't feel the gravy is up your alley, try the Madeiran sauce. It offers a different twist on the dish. As far as the servers go, you would be hard pressed to find a bad one. Walking in for the first time it was easy to see they were a tight knit group which work well with each other. Not only are they on point with their attentiveness, their ability to make you feel like you're having dinner in someone's home instead of a restaurant is uncanny. I've had the pleasure of being served by Nancy, Matthew, Jocelyn and Sue Anne. While it may seem like knowing each of the servers by name is odd, when you have the opportunity to be served by each of them I'm sure you'll remember their names as well. When I read one of the negative reviews for the restaurant I felt compelled to publish this review, as the negative opinions seemed skewed and off base. Each time I've visited the restaurant, it has been a positive experience. Compared to other restaurants, Estoril offers something that many similar restaurants strive for; great atmosphere, great food, and great people. I've also had the opportunity to meet the owner during one of my meals, and it is easy to see that he puts his best into Estoril. After visiting the restaurant, I've recommended it to both family and friends who have also had great experiences. Natrually, I'm recommending this restaurant to you if a relaxed night at a great restaurant seems like a good idea. As Guy Fieri would say, this place is "Out of bounds!" read more

Went here last night, party of 3. Was pretty busy but we were lucky enough to sit at the bar. The bar is definitely not an ideal place to eat... there is a large golden bar protruding off the counter. To remedy this they flip the menu upside down and place a napkin over it so you can eat properly. Weird. The three of us each ordered the portuguese steak, medium, not even well done. It took over an hour for our food to come out. Only until after an hour+ had passed did someone go "oh, let me go check on your food." We arrived at 8:30 and didn't get our food until nearly 10pm. The food was good, but I've had better portuguese steak that came out in a normal amount of time. Won't be returning anytime soon. read more

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place forever since recently moving to the area. We decided to take advantage of the dinner for two deal that they have on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The food was incredible- best Shrimp Mozambique we have ever had, and huge portions. The service, however, was the highlight of the night. Nancy was fantastic! So friendly and attentive. We were the last ones there and she took the time to chat with us at the end of our meal, not making us feel as though we were holding her up. Estoril is worth the drive! I tried Estoril last year for the first time and have been back many times since. I've tried several different dishes there and have yet to find one I didn't like. On my last visit, I tried the Portuguese Fish & Chips which was amazing. It's so light and the saffron sauce compliments the dish very well! I almost always get their sangria, which is absolutely delish! The servers are very friendly and attentive, as well as their talented bartenders! I highly recommend this restuarant!! We went here because one we're Portuguese and 2 the Phantom Gourmet recommended it so how could you go wrong? We were greeted and seated right away. We started off with a bowl of cardo Verde soup, which was a little bit more brothy than expected. We also had the chicken Mozambique for an appetizer and let me tell you it is absolutely fabulous!! Covered in garlic in a very tasty garlic, butter , olive oil paprika sauce that leaves you plenty to dip your bread in! We both got the Portuguese steak. The steak was very tender and lean not to mention it was cooked right. Now everybody has their own version of the gravy that comes with it this one is more like a beef gravy with a hint of garlic in it we did not taste any wine at all which was a little surprising. I gave this 5 stars, not 4 because Nancy who is part of the family that owns this restaurant, came to our table and spoke with us for at least five minutes she was making sure that "A" we were happy and " B" she was also asking us where we were from. So to me customer service deserve to * !! As we were leaving she gave us both a big hug and asked us to come back again to see her. read more

Wow...what a great find! It's a very comfortable (cozy) setting, the wait staff engaging and fun! I had the Portuguese steak complete with fried egg. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Fall River. We were a party of six and everyone enjoyed their dishes from Bife a Casa to Paella at a very reasonable price. My husband and I drove from Newport, RI to try this place because we saw it on Phantom Gourmet. We found street parking very easily at 7pm on a Friday night which was great! We just moved from San Diego CA so we are used to impossible street parking Thursday-Sunday. The decor is dated but in a really charming way - and they had NO music playing!! Ooh my gosh it was SO nice! Okay, we ordered the spicy calamari and flaming chourico appetizers. Both were great!! We didn't finish the chourico but we took it home and made it with eggs the next day...mmmmmmm. The calamari is sooooo good!!! We both loved it! My husband ordered the old-country baked stuffed scrod (steamed broccoli and Portuguese fries as sides) and I ordered the mixed boat. Everything was perfect!!! The stuffed scrod was cooked perfectly and it had the most delicious sauce and crispy top on it! My dish had 5 different kinds of seafood sautéed in a tomato scampi sauce over rice. It doesn't have big chunks of tomato in the sauce which was such a nice change - some tomato based sauces have so much tomato in it that you don't taste anything else. All the seafood in my dish was cooked perfectly, the rice was fluffy and delicious, and the sauce was light but flavor packed! Oh and the service was great! This is one of the best Portuguese restaurants I've been to (second to Sagres-too bad they're still closed!). Elegant and upscale! There's a bar in the first room. Some leather couches and coffee table in the middle of the room (right under the chandelier and ceiling mirror). Dining tables on the sides. We sat on the other beautiful room. Red walls. Same chandelier and mirror. Big paintings. Just a really nice atmosphere. Excellent for romantic evenings. And the food was amazing. Just WOW! Their Spicy Calamari is the best I ever had in my life. They're thick-sliced and meaty, thinly-battered. None of that chalky coating. The size of onion rings. They were that big! I ordered the smaller size of their famous Portuguese Steak. It's called bitoque. Came with the usual traditional fried egg, red pepper, and their special and equally famous sauce/gravy. The sirloin came out tender enough. But they put too much sauce, it drowned my sides (Portuguese rice and Portuguese fries). The fries were very good. Hand cut and thin. My bf had the Baked Cod Gomes which he thoroughly enjoyed. Warning: if you order this, it takes approximately 20-25 minutes to cook. They have a great Portuguese wine list but they are pricier than other restaurant's! my friend and I were looking for some good portuguese food and my fellow yelpers led us to estoril. At first has a very different upscale kind of look but yet it was very casual. We had the little necks and shrimp mozambique for starters. Both were great, especially the shrimp, really good sauce. For our entree we both had the portuguese steak with the the fries and egg. Although delicious, I longed for the garlic sauce on the steak that caravela has on their steak. They dress thier streak with a brown gravy here. My wife and I decided to have a early dinner at this Portuguese restaurant while in Fall River. The outside of the restaurant has a strong European look. The inside of the restaurant gave us a warm family type feeling. We found the menu has many choices of authentic Portuguese dishes. The wife chose the "Old Country Baked Stuffed Scrod" with broccoli and carrots with Portuguese chips and I asked for the "Grilled Native Scrod" with broccoli and carrots and boiled potatoes. Ashley (our waitress) informed us that the Grilled Scrod may take 20 minutes or more to prepare. We were OK with that time frame and appreciated that information. Both of our plates came to us with great "Curb Appeal". The vegetables and boiled potatoes were just great. The seasoning was not overpowering it just enhanced the taste of both of our dishes. The stuffing for the baked scrod was out of this world. For dessert we had passion fruit pudding and flan, both were just delicious. Our waitress Ashley was attentive, but not over bearing. Both of us feel the Portuguese chips were the least favorite part of our meal. We would highly recommend this restaurant to any one that enjoys authentic Portuguese food. Came here for dinner last week with my boyfriend. To start, service was slow, and it was not busy, so that was annoying. But as soon as our waitress came over, she was amazing! (Nancy?) was a fabulous waitress. Very attentive, made suggestions, and was funny too! She asked questions about our real lives and actually listened to the answers, we were both pretty impressed. Their food is AMAZING. Went for their special they run on weds and thurs, (a bottle of wine and two entrees for $30 or $35) Worth it and more. Had the chicken mozambique wings for an app, and they were delicious. I had only tried mozambique once before, and this will definitely make me try more. I actually ordered the mozambique dinner too. Both our entrees were delicious, and I couldn't decide on dessert so I ordered two- the rice pudding and the flan and they were sooooo good! Great end to a great meal. The atmosphere is cute, food was ok, the Portuguese steak was very plain, no seasoning on it. The flaming chourico appetizer was good. Shrimp Mozambique appetizer was good but a bit small portioned. The chicken Mozambique dinner was very salty, and not nearly enough Mozambique sauce. The chicken was moist but again very salty. It was very warm inside the restaurant. The service was decent. Flan was ok. Cream brûlée was good. Overall it was ok. I would try other Portuguese restaurants before returning to Estoril. read more
