We were an unruly bunch and the waiter handled it very professionally. People were arriving at different times and we had 2 kids with us, but he kept checking and getting us drinks. When we were finally all present he took our orders, we got a lot of stuff, but the little necks in garlic and oil, the chourico and clams casino apps all hit. We scoffed them all down The kale soup was amazing, wasn't hot but really tasty. Soup was just warm, but very delicious I had the steak with egg and French fries and it was very good. Solid spot to check out while you are in Fall River! The service was slow, but I think it's just where we ended up in the restaurant since we were in the corner a bit. Most of the group got the bitoque, and they found the meat to be a little tough. I did love the seasoning on it though and the roasted red pepper was a *chef's kiss* addition. So many Portuguese restaurants in Fall River... it's hard to know where to go! Well, T A Restaurant is a pretty solid option. Compared to some of the other spots I've been to in town, the ambiance was on the nicer/more modern side. They've got plenty of choices in terms of Meat & Poultry and Seafood. Our waitress was really nice and helped me decide on a dairy-free dish. My friend and I both opted for seafood. I got the Bacalhua a Casa (shredded codfish) and my friend got the Bacalhua Assado (salted cod). To be honest, I found my fish to be a bit overcooked, but I'm not sure if that's just because the fish was shredded. I tried a bite of the salted cod and the cook on that was perfect. The plating is also really nice, so I'd recommend for anyone looking for a bit of a more upscale dining experience. read more

I went to the Portuguese feast and they were serving cacoila sandwiches and boy was I excited.... But just to be absolutely let down. When I watched them hand over my sandwich, one of the employee's who would wrap the sandwiches was wearing gloves, but would handle money and handle the food at the same time, contaminating the food. I was disgusted. Not once did those gloves come off, I did not see the point of wearing them. As I take my first bite, the meat was so mushy I thought I was eating baby food. I should have never taken a bite. I continued to find a hair in my sandwich. When i brought it back the same man who was touching money then my food gave me another sandwich. Unfortunately I tossed both in the trash I wish I should have warned everyone else in the line. I have never been so disgusted and disappointed in my life. What a waist of time and money. Went there to celebrate our engagement and could not have been more happy with the food and service! The service was impressive , they were always on the spot when we needed something but didn't bother us . The were very busy and crowded so it was a little noisy but that didn't ruin our meal. The fresh cheese was incredible, I would go back there just for that. The flaming chourico tasted amazing, you can tell It's homemade. I really e joyed the clams with beer appetizer. But the octopus was greasy, but this is the second time I've had greasy octopus in a Portuguese restaurant. I think it's me & not the restaurant. Excellent Portuguese cuisine served with pride. Not my first time here, as a matter, fact that one of my favourite restaurants in Fall River (which there are many, so that says a lot) I took a family member who was here from out of town during this holiday week. She's not Portuguese has been mixed into our culture for the last 23 years, only visit from New Mexico every couple of years. She commented on how nice the restaurant was, and how she felt the professional waitstaff took a lot of pride in their work and in the restaurant. I totally agree with her, and I always feel like that when I dine here. My aunt has soy and seasoning allergies, so she asked for her T-bone steak (t-bone was a special)to be grilled plain with just salt. The waiter wanted to be sure her allergies were addressed, and if there were any other things he should know about her food allergies, very attentive, and her T-bone steak came out to perfection, just the way the chef grilled it. I had the octopus special, which was absolutely to die for! Octopus was great, and the caramelised onions were cooked to perfection. I had a glass of Portuguese, white wine with my octopus, so good. The Portuguese rolls that they serve are the best! They're not served warm or anything, they're just my favorite roll with the crunchy outside and soft inside. First time at this Portuguese restaurant and it reminded us so much of the two weeks we spent in Portugal. The bacalhau frito was the best we had anywhere. The Arroz con Mariscos was like what we had in Portugal, the clams in Portuguese sauce were so good we asked the server to save the sauce so we dip our bread in it. The steak Portuguese style was so tender, and the baked scrod was so delicate and came with delicious vegetables. Nice place. Authentic Portuguese Seafood and such. Stopped in for lunch on a Friday around 11:30. Had the Chorizo and peppers sandwich with fries. Came out quick and hot. Very good. Fries were hand cut, hot and plenty of them. I would have liked them a little crisper, but they were obviously freshly made. I was in/out in 20 minutes. Wine menu looked like it could be fun, but I was headed back to work. I took a while to read through the diner entrees. My only experience here was getting a prego - Portuguese steak sandwich - to go. It was solid! Steak was good quality, tender, thin and flavorful and reminded me of the sandwiches I had in Portugal. Ten Lapas came in the $21 appetizer, 10!! And they were tiny ones, And they were made with garlic powder instead of fresh garlic and to top it off the garlic powder burned. So bad. I got a Portuguese steak and had them use the sirloin. It was beyond chewy and over charred, seems they grilled it first. Very strange as it's supposed to be seared in olive oil. My wife got the surf and turf. Three small "tenderloin" fillets and two (bland) stuffed shrimp. The fillet mignon were previously frozen and almost raw. Outstanding! Started off with a bottle of the Casal Garcia. Great combination of dry and sparkling. Appetizers were the Chourico (you are in for a treat from both a taste and presentation) plus the Azorean cheeses. For the entrees, the Portuguese steak and the Rice Seafood. Both were generous and full flavor. Next time we will do the full rice with the steak. Another bottle of the Casal followed by Grandmas cookie dessert. Do yourself a favor. Thoroughly enjoyed my Bacalhau Assado, beautiful, sweet and salty codfish served as a whole filet with potatoes. My dining companions liked the Pork Alentejana, though the littlenecks were a bit dry, and a Portuguese Steak special substituting a nice Sirloin over the standard Rump cut. The starting course was a highlight. Chourico a Bombeiro presented in a pig shaped, ceramic serving dish, complete with a roasty fire burning below. The chourico are prepared by a small market down the street, and were so good I had to order 2, 1 for me, and one for the table. But the star of the show was our server. The waitstaff here is always good, this evening it was exceptionally fine. My selection from the unbelievably reasonable wine list was unavailable, and our expert waiter suggested a finer bottle and vintage, decanted it properly, and then insisted that I pay no more than my earlier choice. I only wish I had taken a photo of the label, because I would love to seek out another bottle or four. This is not a fancy place, and it doesn't need to be. They serve a fine and honest rendering of local Portuguese favorites, and serve them well. read more

We went to sagres but it was closed and ended being here. Big mistake! The bread they bought out is burnt and when I asked the waitress, she just said it's just burnt as if it's normal. She did not do anything about it. We ordered the Portuguese steak chef style medium rare and it came out well done and tastes like rubber. And the worst thing is the sauce it's so salty that if you dip the patato chip in it you can't eat it. The other dish (sea food sizzling platter) is also too salty. Will never come back again and I don't know what the 4 stars are all about. After I posted this review, I decided to read on to what others have said about the place and here are common problems: 1) service is lacking! In our case even the bread is burnt she considered it normal to bring out and serve customer 2) food overcooked and over salty and beef tastes rubbery! These are the exact problems we had. read more

I absolutely LOVE this place, very authentic Portuguese food. I had gone for my cousin's birthday and had to go back there again for my father's birthday! The food is definitely cooked fresh but does not take forever to come out! I do however wish the tables were set up a little bit differently, I know that they cannot change the structure of the building but that is the only thing I would change. I really hate to give 3 stars but a magnificent meal ruined by horrible service . Food was delicious. Young guy with a man bun started out okay then he got another table or two and poof never saw him again . Finally one of the other staff came by and said let me get him . It's really ashamed to give it three stars but when the foods a 5 and the service is a one 3 is the average . We will be back but we will make sure we sit in another servers section . I would like to say that I contacted the restaurant on messenger and was pleasantly surprised to have them reach out and apologize for the occurrence and hoped we would give them a second chance . it's been a couple of years since I've been here but I sent a friend and his family recently and they raved about this place, great spot for Portuguese food, and the prices are more than reasonable. I always took my mom here and my family, our kids loved it. 2 dishes I would say never to pass on in this place are 1 the Portuguese style steak (marinated with an egg over easy on top) and 2 the Shrimp Mozambique can't miss on either dish. I've always found the staff here friendly and if you live up in the Boston area as I do now you'll find the prices are like stepping into a time warp, very easy on the wallet, if you're in the area definitely worth a visit. read more

What a cool little place. During my 1st trip eva to Fall Riva, a friend took me here for some authentic Portuguese food, and a questionable milky green alcoholic bevvy. Upon walking in, it was pretty quiet, except for the old guys at the bar speaking in their native tongue. My friends imitations were spot on! I finally got what he has been talking about! :) I let him do the ordering. It was all amazing. We had a steak w an egg on it, I couldn't for the life of me tell you what it was called, but it was GOOD. We also had the pork w the little necks. Also, great.
