    Pan con todo

Came in a Saturday morning and was helped right away. Ordered the pan con todo & I was not disappointed. It was delicious 10/10. Perfect ratios. Bread was SO soft and delicious. Simple and perfect.

Highly recommend the pan con todo! So delicious and great price. The concha bread was super good too. This spot is legit and authentic. I need to go back to try every menu item.

Really nice Guatemalan Bakery in the Mission lots of fresh Breads , Juices , Pastry here to start your morning plus some tables if you want to relax a moment and enjoy a light breakfast or lunch. Busy but not crowded , and clearly frequented by those living in the neighborhood. Easy parking when I came in the morning , and I was helped by a very pleasant woman at the counter. The space is clean & welcoming it's a step up from old style bakeries in the mission. The breads & pastry were fresh & yummy , and affordable so yes I will be back, also I think they are still doing Hot Dishes , I need to check them out. update : I really have really enjoyed some of the pastries, and realized that the way Sesame Seeds, Cinnamon , and Anise were used in some of the breads reminded me of Stella D'oro an East Coast Italian Brand. I will be back !

This bakery offers a wife variety of delicious baked goods. If you get a TGTG from here it's a great deal! The workers are nice and it's a cozy vibe inside. Anything with the sweet coating melts in your mouth!

** The following review reflects my takeout experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** Y'know it's OK to cheat during a pandemic. I don't mean like adultery, but calorie-wise, a little slip is bound to happen because lockdown makes baked confections look better than they have any right to be. I happened upon this newish corner bakery, right across the street from the now-closed La Victoria Bakery, and all I needed was to see the word "panaderia" to walk robotically inside to see the extensive selection in their fast-emptying display case (photo: https://bit.ly/3pHPEoa). It was only later that I discovered it was a Guatemalan cafe that served breakfast and lunch items. In fact, the lineage behind this operation is impressive because the owner is the daughter of the owner of Universal Bakery, the longtime Mission spot that serves satisfying Guatemalan breakfasts including a soft roll I still remember years later (review: https://bit.ly/2NHJoQa). I weakened and bought what I believe was a Chocolate Gusano which I took away with glee. I only walked around the corner, parked the pastry on an empty ledge, and took off my mask to devour it (photo: https://bit.ly/3qIwKim). It was deliciously soft and not too sweet. Indeed like father, like daughter. BAKED GOOD - 4 stars...nice treat during a lockdown AMBIANCE - n/a...looks cheery but I got my gusano and skidaddled SERVICE - 4 stars...genuinely friendly TOTAL - 4 stars...Guatemalan comfort food in the heart of the Mission RELATED - Exploring the Mission? Tons of bakery items that are brand new to me.

A Guatemalan Bakery. But it is a good 50-minute bus ride away, and if you don't catch that 48 bus (I didnt) you have a LONG WAIT. But I got a TooGoodToGo deal, so I couldn't pass up the chance to get a sampling of their items, cheap. So we set the alarm and off we went. First of all. I was expecting day old stuff. I got fresh stuff that was still warm when I arrived home 55 minutes later. Hubby and I split the least interesting one, the white thing at the top of my pics. What a wonderful flavor to it. Soft and is that anise? Then a tiny piece of some dense dark thing broke off and found its way into my mouth. That was sweet and wonderful. I have been to a lot of bakeries, and there are some good ones in SF, but never have I been to a Guatemalan one. The bake goods are different in a delightful way. My only complaint besides them being far away for me is that I did not see any prices posted. But most definitely if I am even close to this place, I am returning. It is a nice switch from the usual stuff.

When I was a little girl, my favorite bakery was A Guatemalan bakery owned by a couple. It was right on 24th St and Potrero. Now as an adult, one of their sons opened this bakery on 24th and Alabama. To be quite frank, I wasn't a fan of it in the beginning. The service was really slow and I wasn't as impressed with the customer service and the bread. So I stopped going. About a year later, I decided to give it another try and let me tell you....I LoVE it now. I'm not sure what happened there but the service has amped up significantly. The food is also extra delicious and now I am addicted with their 'Pan Con Todo'. It is a bread roll that is stuffed with scrambled eggs, refried beans, sour cream and fresh cheese. You can also add fried plantain. It's like a full on breakfast in a roll. They are not stingy with the amounts and I am pretty full by the time we're done with it. I highly recommend trying this place out and I'm glad that I am writing a review. I tend to write nothing at all when I'm not impressed with the place. And I am motivated to write this positive review and encourage them to keep slaying it :)

A terrific, little spot in the heart of the vibrant Mission neighborhood. Warm, friendly staff serving tasty treats at awfully low prices at this lovely, local bakery.

I wouldn't know about this place if it wasn't for the TooGoodToGo app to help eateries save wastes food from the day before. Nice app to play around with. I randomly choose this place on app but didn't realize it was far from the BART station and had to walk few blocks which took about 12 minutes. But don't worry it's a straight line. It is a nice, clean looking bakery with some people in line ordering coffee and pasteris. It is a clean, well lighted place. Most of the pastries I could see from the window display are mostly bread like pastries with maybe a hint of sweetness. Mexican and Cuban pastries I have no experience with, so this is my first dive into it. So from my surprised goodie day old bag I had a quite a number of breadlike assortments. I had to divide evenly and sort which ones to freeze because I can't eat all that or I will turn onto a doughgirl! Mexican bread pastries are very heavy, hearty and fulfilling which is complete opposite of Chinese bread pastries like the pineapple bun and cocktail buns which are light and fluffy. Both cultures are good in their own way. While writing this I am trying to look up names of some of these pastries I have which are original and chocolate bigote, one concha, fruit empanada, maybe Mexican buñuelos? Oh all in all it was a good experience. Looking forward to try other breads and pastries!

My husband and I's favorite place to eat in the world is New Orleans so this place definitely did not disappoint. We started with coffee drinks, I had some sort of boozy espresso drink which I could have done without since the bitters tasted like licorice which is probably a taste preference. My husband had the grandma coffee which was also fine. Then the food came out and it went up from here! The catfish & grits just might be the best I've ever had. My husband also really enjoyed his banana foster French toast, & i loved that they allowed you to get one piece of fried chicken because i had to try it out despite a full meal. The wing I had was Nice & crunchy with a delicious sweet sauce on the side that reminded me of mambo sauce ( a DC staple.) My husband also had the gumbo which was good but I wouldn't say our favorite. I prefer my gumbo with a little more spice but that could just be personal preference. We ended the meal with beignets: I had the ube beignet which was so unique & flavorful! I don't think I would have had a chance to try that type of beignet anywhere else so glad to try something different, it was delicious. The crawfish beignet was also so flavorful! The beignets in general were much more bready than typical beignets but still very good & unique to this place. On top of that, the service was great & the food came out quick, hot & fresh! I wish we had more time (& stomach space) to try other items on the menu, everywhere we looked everything looked delicious so we'll just have to try more the next time we're back in SF!

The place is a little cramped, but we were able to wait inside until the whole party was there to be seated. It was a good place for a group dinner. I shared the catfish with crawfish etouffee (special), the gumbo, and a dungeness crab beignet with my boyfriend. We also ordered some banana cream pie for the table, which was a huge hit.
