Casual ambience for a quick lunch or breakfast there's a full bar and televisions mounted on the wall for your entertainment. They do a great mocha if you're looking for good coffee their tuna melt is delicious so is their turkey cranberry service here is professional, courteous and prompt

I give 5 stars to "the Venue" as a place to host an event. It is located right next to the UCSF orthopedic building at Mission Bay at 1500 Owen's street with a large parking lot across the street. It has an indoor/outdoor space with floor to ceiling windows and a full bar. We wanted a special place to host a retirement party for a colleague of ours, and when I went in one day for breakfast, I fell in love with the atmosphere and food. We had reserved another location for the party which I cancelled and changed to "the Venue". Working with Gabriela was wonderful and we organized the entire event in less than 30 minutes. We had a wide array of appetizers, drinks, a taco bar, margaritas, and gorgeous mini-desserts. The staff was accommodating of all special requests and the layout of the space was perfect for mingling. They even made a fresh batch of empanadas for the guest of honor to take home after they heard she had been too busy talking to sample the appetizers. I plan to host all parties for my group here going forward!

    Mediterranean Flavor Burst Bowl

Flavors are 5/5. Portion 3/5. Price 4/5. They should fill the bowl all the way for the price. Other than that, delicious and kind service!

    Margherita Pizza and pepperoni pizza

I ordered the pizza. It's mediocre at best but their salads looked very good. Simple lunch and friendly. Designed as a go-to if you work in the area. The ambiance is nice and clean. The tables are communal for sharing.

Not very much avocado for avocado toast. It is tasty though.

I've been to Tony's a few times, and the first two times, my hub and I have left raving about it and telling all our friends and fam to get to Tony's. If any menu item says Grandma in it.... you can be sure it's an incredible pizza. They're extremely accommodating and service is great. It's a l w a y s busy, even on weekdays, even in the middle of the work day. Reservations are smart! Parking is not easy but not impossible in the area. We live in the city so we always take public transportation. Within the last 6 months, I've discovered a gluten and dairy allergy that really took me down. Without getting into the gnarly details, it wasn't fun and I've been grieving pizza since this new discovery. So why would I go to Tony's with this new allergy? Because! I read that they offer a gluten free, dairy free pizza. Insane I know, but yet they offer it and I was PUMPED. When asking the waiter what I can get based on my needs, he responded to me like I was a war criminal. He was a Caucasian gentleman with brown hair. He raised his voice for all the diners to hear about my allergies, told me I couldn't get any pizza, and when I pointed out that there were options, he told me "I'll triple check if this is possible for you." When he came back and confirmed it was possible, he tells me they can do a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni. It felt like the moment he heard 'gluten' and 'dairy,' he mentally categorized me as 'vegan' and stopped looking for ways to make the experience enjoyable. Yikes! Lol I fully recognize - girl, why did you go to a pizza spot with a gluten and dairy allergy? Yes I am not okay for this hahah but also I felt pretty embarrassed and treated really poorly. This experience doesn't reflect Tony's as a whole, but it was just a terrible interaction and that waiter made it real clear that he has no patience for anything that is inconvenient during his work shift.

I don't know what I expected from the clam and garlic slice, but the flavor wasn't overwhelming from either ingredient, however it was delicious. Guy at that counter was friendly and worked efficiently. After we ordered, it took 10 minutes to get our slices and we ate immediately. The slices were above room temp (so I know it was reheated), but it nowhere near hot. The dough is very thick, but had a very soft chew and zero crunch. The garlic and clam was a great taste, but it's hard to enjoy what essentially felt like a slice of focaccia that was reheated for 15 seconds in a microwave. Again, I have to believe something was terribly wrong with our order, especially after looking at the reviews and seeing the Dave Portnoy review. Maybe it was placed in a cold oven? Maybe someone put a bunch of slices in the oven at different times and accidentally pulled out the newest addition to the oven and served it to us?? Is it all hype??!! Either way, our trip is too short make a second go to sort it out.

Unfortunately, there ended up being an issue with part of our order, but before we even had the chance to say anything, the team had already taken care of it for us. That honestly stood out to me more than anything. There was no awkward back and forth, no need for us to complain or ask for anything. They noticed something wasn't up to their standard and immediately made it right on their own. That level of customer service, especially on our first visit, was such a great surprise. And the pizza itself was SO good. We ended up having the pepperoni and what I believe was a vodka cheese slice, and absolutely loved both. Great pizza, even better people, and the kind of customer service that makes you want to come back. I unfortunately didn't catch everyone's names, but huge shoutout to the team working today. You guys made an amazing first impression. We'll definitely be back!

The pizza has charred edges like Neapolitan which adds a nice smokey flavor. The crust has zero flop and a nice golden crust on top. Sauce has a tough of sweetness. I also enjoyed their use of fresh basil and the grated Parmigiano-Reggiano they throw on at the end. It's kinda like a new york slice, but a little gourmet? Very tasty for sure. Critiques: First off, each slice is $6-7, which is a bit steep. Maybe times have changed, but this is def not a budget meal, especially if you are eating multiple slices. Second, some of their already crispy slices have been sitting on display for some time and completely cooled down. When these slices are then reheated, there is a bit of an overcooked taste? Lastly, they only have a few topping options and the quantity of toppings on each slice (especially protein) is pretty sparse. I also ordered a slice of the Sicilian as well to mix things up. It was good, but the crust was just a touch too greasy for me.

When we arrived, our waitress didn't seem very knowledgeable about the beers, but honestly, that wasn't a big deal. My boyfriend ordered his pizza while I was still deciding what I wanted. His pizza came out very quickly, which we had no complaints about. The issue started when we had barely been seated for about 15 minutes. I went to the restroom, and while I was gone, the waitress approached my boyfriend while he literally had pizza in his mouth and a full beer in front of him and told him, "My chef said to charge you." He was confused but said okay because it made us wonder if they were closing. I checked the hours, and they weren't supposed to close until 10 PM--it was barely around 9 PM. I HADN'T EVEN ORDERED MY FOOD YET. I was still planning on ordering my own pizza, dessert, and a drink. Instead, we suddenly felt like we were being rushed to pay and leave. What made the situation even more unprofessional was that she left the payment device at our table for Apple Pay and then actually left the restaurant. She was the only server we had seen around, so we were basically left sitting there with the payment device and no server. We eventually had to get up ourselves to find someone so we could ask for boxes and return their payment device. No one had even asked whether we needed boxes, wanted anything else, or were finished ordering. My boyfriend didn't even finish his beer because at that point the entire vibe had changed and we just wanted to leave. We had driven an hour specifically to try this restaurant and were genuinely excited about it, which made the experience even more disappointing. I completely understand if a server's shift is ending, but there is a professional way to handle that--especially when customers are still actively eating and one person at the table hasn't even ordered yet. Someone could have simply explained that her shift was ending and introduced whoever would be taking over our table. Instead, we were made to feel like we needed to pay and leave. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the experience. We really wanted to like this place, but being treated this way after driving an hour to come here was extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
