Best cake in the whole state of Colorado. I'm pretty sure I order about 10 cakes a year to celebrate many birthdays. They were closed for a few weeks while they opened their new spot, and I tried a more known and expensive place. Their cake was very dry and had no flavor. I'm glad they opened again and now I can go and get a slice of their many delicious cakes. read more

Was looking forward to a Spring Fling cake, but unfortunately this version is not what I remember from The Market. The buttercream frosting was heavenly ... the cake itself, not so much. You could actually taste the flour in the cake and it seems slightly unbaked in the middle. The edges of the cake were delicious, but anything more than an inch from the edge was really unpalatable with a doughy, raw flour taste. I'm not sure if it wasn't mixed properly, or baked long enough or at the right temperature, but it was really off. Such a shame, as it was a beautiful thing to behold. read more

Popped in here a few weeks ago and thought we'd taste the Lavender Blackberry cake. Mind you I don't really like cake. I couldn't stop eating it. It was so moist and flavorful. And we had to try the danishes. Best! My friend said the chocolate danish was the best he'd ever had. The people were all very nice. So we went back to get danishes and cake on Easter for someone homebound. We were so happy and relieved to find them open. The owner used to be at the Market downtown. I can't wait until they open a deli too. Yum!! Tops in Westword too! Funny thing is we got them mixed up with Elegant bakery whom we called first and they were grumpy and hung up on us. Best cakes in town! If you are looking for a delicious cake this is the right spot. Only down side of this business is the owners daughter that works there. I've visited the bakery around 5 times and almost every time I get a really bad attitude and vives from that lady. She needs to be less arrogant and more friendly. Has anyone ever had a poor experience? Previously, I was a very loyal customer, for years, following the lead baker since he was baking at the Market. I'm talking about every event, every birthday, thousands of dollars worth of business. Anyway, I ordered a cake last week and needed to place a deposit by yesterday. I forgot said deposit and called to make it over the phone and was told there was a 4% charge to do it over the phone. I asked how much my total would be with the extra charge because "my cake is already almost $100 (right here she interrupted me with a sassy attitude before I could finish my sentence and said your cake was not over $100) and if the charge is too much, I'll just go in". She tells me his 4% charge is going to add $10 to my total (which 4% would actually only add $3.40) so I told her "I'll be there before 6 to pay the deposit" and hung up. I then received a text message saying my order was cancelled. I called back to confirm this and she thought I hung up on her in the previous call, which I didn't, I said I would be in to pay and also said good bye. The conversation was over - of course I hung up. So, to cancel my order was uncalled for, I TOLD HER I WAS ON MY WAY TO PAY FOR IT. 1st of all, when you run a business, your admin should NEVER cut off a customer mid sentence...that is customer service 101...2nd of all, to be rude and unprofessional is one thing but to go as far as cancelling an order because you want to be sassy and petty is another. This girl isn't even the owner of this business, she is an EMPLOYEE! She needs to sit down and know her place - because if she continues to have the same attitude she pulled with me today, she compromises the business. Losing me after years of being a loyal customer may not effect them, and that's okay! But ethically, this is not an establishment I want to give my hard earned money to. Especially if their staff doesn't have the desire or integrity to be kind humans. read more

Disappointed with the unattractive appearance of the cupcakes that were overfilled as evidenced by the extended cake baked beyond the cup. A request to not add nuts and to reduce the amount of frosting since an edible topper was being added were not followed. read more

Ordered a German chocolate a while back. It was pretty good. Decided to try their signature spring fling this weekend... disappointed. The fresh fruit was amazing and it was beautiful but the cake was so dry, like it had been pre made and frozen. Bummer. It doesn't seem to have as much zucchini as it did at the market. First of all I am a pastry connoisseur who thought cake was something I could take it or leave it. However I took my mom here and sampled some of the cake she had selected. After eating a fork full it turned into a slice and then in on a second. I was supposed to be on a diet which I was doing very well might I add. When we first went here and got cake slices they were good. My one star is not about the quality of the food, it's their attitude when they don't have your order that you placed, and the fact that they are always sold out so they couldn't have even replaced it. I tried to call to see when I should pick it up and their phone hung up on me 3 times. So I went down to get it after 3:00 because that's when their face book page said to come down. So no order, no cakes at all, nothing. Just a oops, sorry. I know them losing my business is not going to make any difference to them at all, but I don't appreciate the way I was treated. And to think I had actually bought a card to welcome them to the neighborhood. So glad I didn't give it to them. read more
