We hired Allison Concrete to build a retaining wall behind our barn in 2022. It was next to impossible to get a company out to our property at that time to build the wall, with different companies giving me a variety of excuses. And, then, I called Allison Concrete. Sergio came out and gave me a very reasonable bid and started the work in a timely fashion. We didn't have to wait 3 - 6 months as was the case with more than one company. This year, we had an immediate, and very urgent need, to have a rock retaining wall built due to a failure in the fall by another company. We, again, thought of Allison Concrete in hopes that they could correct the failed wall and my wife's broken heart! Sergio came out "same day" to assess the disaster and see if he could remedy the situation out front. We received Sergio's extremely reasonable bid within 48 hours and quickly hired him to get the job done. Much to our surprise, Sergio put us on his schedule the following week. Within 2 days, Sergio and a helper created the most beautiful wall to the point that we could hardly remember the muddy disaster that we had to look at all winter through our kitchen window!! Correcting the failed wall and building a new wall was a big job and took a large backhoe as well as artistic skills to construct, as some of the large rocks/boulders weighed about 2000 pounds. We are looking at hiring Allison Construction for another job that just came up; concrete footings for a gazebo that will be built above our hot tub. Not only is Sergio the epitome of a true professional, he has a heart of gold and has a sincere desire to see his customers satisfied and happy! My wife is extremely happy with her new retaining wall! Sergio is always on time, cleans up his work space at the end of each day and works hard with no breaks that we saw! (The work site was accessible from the alley so we we didn't need to be home for him to review it). A week later, I texted and asked if he'd been by, and if he had any questions. He sent a bid, which was lower than others and we booked him for the work. On the day of, Joe announced that he was charging us twice as much because he didn't know there was any demo/paver removal involved- which he would know if he'd looked at the site before bidding the project. We were frustrated but agreed because the timing was critical for the next phase of our project. The bid was for 8" deep, with rebar. I came out when he was 1/3 of the way into the pour to discover Joe was pouring 2"-6" deep, with no rebar. When I questioned him, he flatly lied and said it was 8" depth until I offered to get a measuring tape, at which point he admitted it wasn't. He then tried to pour using our uneven pavers as the form. When confronted he noted he'd use an even edge- we afterward discovered he used lumber from our property for framing the pour. There are so many more issues, I wont outline them all. The end result cost twice as much as originally bid, and may need to be jackhammered out so that it can be poured correctly.

They were all super busy, so getting it done soon wasn't an option. Luckily for me, it wasn't necessary. I needed some concrete in my driveway cut out and repoured, since the builder of my new house didn't think he needed to fix the crumbling and cracked concrete. Great builder...NOT! This crew was very efficient, and did a great job. I am very pleased with the job they did, and wish my builder had used them in the first place.

I waited a few days and then contacted him. "Oh - family emergency, we will start next week." Next week comes by and still no one comes. I wait a few days again and contact him again. "Oh - I injured my foot - next week for sure." I wait for the next week and again no one shows up. I wait a few days and contact him. "Oh - my foot is still injured - but next week for sure." Guess what - he did not show up the next week and then just stopped responding to my texts. I understand that delays come up but why is it my responsibility to have to repeatedly contact him when no one shows up on the scheduled date again and again? If something comes up, LET ME KNOW! And if you don't want to do it, LET ME KNOW! After a month of having my texts ignored, we gave up on him and contracted with the city to do the repair.

We really liked the idea of utilizing recycled concrete as a building material, and though many other local companies offered this option, none we spoke to were confident that they could also incorporate brackets to attach our fence posts to, which THE WALL was able to, nor did they have the reputation of THE WALL. Rick came out promptly and gave a reasonable bid, and once our date came up in the waiting list George, our project foreman, came out and reviewed the project and the following week was out with a crew (we had a delay due. to the Thanksgiving holiday). The crew was great, did excellent work and worked quick! The project changed very slightly, reducing the amount of wall to be constructed, and THE WALL was quick to credit us the slight difference in cost. We are super happy with the results! It's been an absolute joy working with Bill and Sue on replacing a few retaining walls and cracked…read moreconcrete on my property. They are honest, open, communicative, and work like crazy to get the job done! Bill does really high quality work - he always explains in detail how he's tackling the job and sends a ton of photos so you can see what he and his team are doing at every step. One of my retaining walls (see photos) is in a really precarious location on a public sidewalk next to a busy street, but Bill and his team were able to handle it like true professionals. He estimated the work would take a few weeks, but after assessing the situation he decided that they needed to get the sidewalk cleared as quickly as possible so that people could walk by, so he brought in reinforcements and finished this wall in three days. Three days!!! No exaggeration - the "before" photo was taken on a Thursday, and the "after" photo was taken on Saturday! I have no idea how he pulled that off, but I so appreciate that he worked so hard to get the wall done quickly and cleaned up the area perfectly so that my neighbors wouldn't get mad at me :D Long story short, I feel really well taken care of by Bill and Sue - they treat you like family and I absolutely love my new "hawaiian style" wall :) Mahalo Bill and Sue!

I paid 25k for concrete and paths around my home as well as steps to the entry ways. Job was not received finished and there is a lot of error in the work. Poor work ethic and unreliable people. Sam changed his number and will not respond to his emails. Last response I got from him was that his father was dying and would return to finish the work. Found out his dad died in 2022! I just told them I needed to wait for The City's approval prior to moving forward. Well in that timeframe they decided they didn't want the job and haven't answered calls, texts, or emails since. I even told them it's fine if they don't want to do the job. I'd just appreciate being told rather than ignored. So yes it looks like they do good work, but they might also leave you high and dry, so avoid them if you value peace of mind and reliability.
