Had no clue this place existed until I was mapping out my winery route. Decided to stop in on the way back to Atlanta. It is your typical distillery and tasting area set up, however, they do have different cocktails for you to try which is nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Service is quick and to the point. Televisions are available if you wanted to catch up on your favorite teams while you enjoy your drink. They do sell their bourbon on site but I am not sure about tours.

Big Creek Distilling is not in the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from there. It's about fifteen minutes from Dahlonega, but worth the drive. They are fairly new, but they have a nice vibe. We did a tasting which included their gin, white dog whiskey (they called Moonshine), and their Small Batch and Single Barrel bourbons. The bartender was knowledgeable and attentive.

Not just a distillery--a whole experience. Big Creek Distilling nails it with their bourbon, gin, and moonshine, but what truly sets them apart is the people. The staff makes you feel like a local five minutes after walking in. Special shoutout to Cara, Kyra, and Tyler--college kids who are friendly, knowledgeable, and already showing how hospitality done right can shape incredible futures. You don't just taste here--you connect.

Nice atmosphere. Have fun games to play. Very big inside and outside. Staff is nice. A couple of tasting options. Their other drinks looked good also.

Fantastic setting with nice seating indoors and outdoors. Great place to spend the afternoon with friends enjoying bourbon, cocktails and a mocktail.

We loved this place so much we planned our weekend getaway just to come back. Went last night and Lauren was behind the bar again! Yay! Also tried out the food truck, Fair on Wheels. This really was a nice truck and the food was awesome. They sold out of empanadas by the time we went, so we hat steak tacos and mozzarella sticks. Both were great. Toward the end of the night a random woman walked up and started talking to my wife at the bar, come to find out, she was the matriarch of the family business, Patricia. We had a great conversation with her about the business and how they want to see it grow and really be a part of the community. It was really nice. We will continue to make this one of our regular stops whenever we are up this way.

This place while not too big was one of the better ones we have ever been to. The drinks were so delicious & so appealing! If they had more food options we probably would've sat there for hours. We purchased one of the seasonal gin bottles as a gift. Such smooth easy to drink cocktails here. Staff were friendly & had excellent recommendations. On leash Dog friendly outdoor section. So cute.

So. Good. Truly the best bourbon and gin. The cocktails are craft, absolutely unique, delicious, smooth. The tour is worth it. The staff is fantastic. Absolutely a must visit. This is a place I'd drive out of my way to visit, no question!

This place seems like it would be amazing if you went when the weather was nice. The day we visited was rainy which meant the inside was pretty busy. It took a while to get service and even longer to tab out. The drinks themselves were tasty though as were the spirits. I just wish we would have had better service and the ability to be outside away from some of the noise. There was a taco food truck there when we visited and the food looked amazing but we had just eaten so we didn't try anything.

An all ages place, there's an open garage door and food truck with I video of a fireplace on one wall and the game on the other. We had an appointment but there were no tables. Long lines at the bathroom. Our flight was strong over smooth: gin, bourbon and moonshine.

If I could give this place 4.5 I would, but because it just misses the mark on any warmth, I'm giving it a 4. The cocktails are sublime! We had "The Orchard", "Peach Moon" & a "Pumpkin Spiced Espresso Martini". We also had a tasting (Seasonal Gin, Gold Mine Moonshine, and small batch Bourbon) and the Something Snacky.

This was the best "tasting visit" we had over a long holiday weekend. It was so good, we went back again! Big Creek has an awesome tasting room and a great outdoor area. There was a food truck on station when we were there Sunday afternoon. The spirits were tasty. I really just came for the bourbon, which was really good. Mix it in a "Smoke on the Mountain" old fashioned, and it's a win! I ended up leaving with a couple bottles. The service in the tasting room was awesome. The bartenders both times were true artists!

I actually just just walked in to grab a few bottles but pleasantly surprised that they had a bar. Sat down and had one of the best old fashions I've ever had regular and smoky. Also good conversation with some other patrons so overall atmosphere great, service great, definitely recommend you come in for a few drinks.

The burger and tater tots were also very good. The menu offers a wide variety of specialty burgers with plenty of customization options, including grass-fed beef for a small upcharge. Fair prices for the quality and quantity of food--definitely left in a food coma. Service: Service was efficient and the food came out well-prepared. No major issues during the visit. Atmosphere: Located in downtown Dahlonega, making it easy to explore nearby shops and dessert spots before or after your meal. The tavern has a darker, eclectic vibe with artwork, punk music, and a slightly edgy feel. The décor fits the restaurant's origins and personality, though the lighting--including in the restrooms--is quite dim. Parking downtown can be somewhat difficult during busy times.

I asked for some Tabasco sauce to help make the sandwich more palatable to eat, instead of being brought a bottle like most restaurants would give you they gave me a condiment cup full of Tabasco sauce, too much for anyone to use. When the bill came for an extra 50 Cent charge for it, I didn't fight it because it was 50 Cent and I just wanted to leave, but it was frustrating. I've never been charged for condiments / hot sauce at a restaurant I'm giving two stars because the server was nice and patient while we figured out what my little one needed to order she had to come back to the table a couple times, but they should have mentioned the surcharge for the hot sauce at the time that I requested it. Would I come back here again for a meal, no. Would I consider coming back to try a cocktail, maybe, only because overheard the bartender speaking to some patrons quite passionately about the flavors which they put together so I would give this part. Another chance even though the kitchen has lost my confidence,

It was a Tuesday night, which turned out to be wing night with wings that were a reasonable price. I also went for the fish and chips, which were fair. The wings were quite tasty, and they have a decent variety of sauce flavors to choose from which is a good thing. I also went for the street corn, which was excellent. We were sitting out on the porch, and the weather was good. Noise was kept to a minimum so we were able to talk without having to shout, which I consider to always be a good thing. The food was good, our wait staff were decent, and we were very happy with our experience. If we are in the area again, we would certainly return.

Unfortunately it was raining SO much that we couldn't really walk around and explore the town, so I searched for somewhere close to our hotel to have dinner. We ended up at Bangkok Haus Restaurant and honestly... what a good decision that turned out to be. The restaurant serves Thai food and sushi in this really cozy, relaxing atmosphere, which honestly felt perfect after being stuck in the rain all day. The restaurant itself is super cute inside and beautifully decorated, making it feel warm and welcoming the second you walk in. We decided to go all in on sushi rolls and started with two beers: a Thai Chang beer and a Japanese Asahi. Both were super light, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the sushi. I also ordered a miso soup because honestly... there's just something so comforting about starting dinner with warm miso soup to settle your stomach. For rolls we ordered the Eel Roll, the Lady of Dawn, and the M16 roll. The Eel Roll was rich, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced with that buttery eel texture and eel sauce. The Lady of Dawn roll was super fresh and flavorful with the perfect combination of crunchy and creamy textures. And the M16 roll? SO good. Packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and honestly one of those rolls where every bite tastes different in the best way possible. I later saw online that people rave about the M16 roll too, and now I completely understand why. The service was also super friendly and fast, which we appreciated so much after a long rainy day on the road. Honestly, if you're visiting Helen and want a break from all the German food everywhere, this is SUCH a great option. Amazing sushi, comforting Thai food, good service, and a really beautiful atmosphere.

I have visited Montaluce Winery and Estates many times over the years, but I've always been on the move, never quite able to pause and soak in the full experience. This past weekend, while celebrating my birthday, my friends and I decided to change that. After a refreshing hike through the stunning property, we finally made time to stop in and it was everything I hoped it would be. The moment you step inside, you are transported. The interior aesthetics are absolutely gorgeous. There is a distinct, charming, and "campy" vibe that feels incredibly rustic and upscale at the same time. The taxidermy animals mounted on the walls add such a unique, authentic touch to the space. It's the kind of place you just don't find in chain restaurants. There is just something about a good wood-fired pizza that is unmatched. You can taste the quality and the craft in every bite. I ordered the classic Margherita pizza, and it was exactly what I needed after hiking. It was fresh, bubbly, and perfectly charred. To round out the meal, I paired my pizza with a glass of their signature apple wine. It was the perfect crisp accompaniment to the meal, capturing the essence of the Georgia mountains. Surrounded by real friends who truly celebrate you is a blessing within itself, and Trattoria di Montaluce provided the perfect backdrop for our birthday festivities. It's the kind of place where time slows down, allowing you to actually connect and enjoy the company you're with. If you find yourself finishing a day of wine tasting and hiking, and you think you might not have room for a full pizza, do not let that stop you! Order it anyway and take it home. Your future self will absolutely thank you for that delicious, wood-fired treat the next day. Whether you are a local or just visiting the North Georgia mountains, make sure the Trattoria at Montaluce is on your itinerary.
