So while leaving the area I just happened to pass this building so I stopped in because I can appreciate a good distillery. When you walk in it's huge and there's plenty of space on the inside and the outside. There are TVs here so you can actually watch a game while you're drinking. The staff was super cool and very very friendly so I appreciate that they do everything in house because it's a distillery but they have some very creative drinks. If you want to go and sit outside, that's a good spot to be in because there's plenty of space out there. They have a patio out there as well that is very easy to chill at. Overall I don't really have any complaints. The menu isn't huge but it's enough to get you over. If you're passing it, I would definitely say it'd be a good time to try. read more

This was my first time here and Lauren was our guide. She did a great job giving us a tour. We got to try moonshine in its rarest form straight from the barrel which was such a unique experience. Their craft cocktails were really tasty and they even had a food truck on the premises for those who wanted a little something extra to eat. Had no clue this place existed until I was mapping out my winery route. Decided to stop in on the way back to Atlanta. It is your typical distillery and tasting area set up, however, they do have different cocktails for you to try which is nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Service is quick and to the point. Televisions are available if you wanted to catch up on your favorite teams while you enjoy your drink. They do sell their bourbon on site but I am not sure about tours. read more

Big Creek Distilling is not in the middle of nowhere, but you can see it from there. It's about fifteen minutes from Dahlonega, but worth the drive. They are fairly new, but they have a nice vibe. We did a tasting which included their gin, white dog whiskey (they called Moonshine), and their Small Batch and Single Barrel bourbons. The bartender was knowledgeable and attentive. read more

We loved this place so much we planned our weekend getaway just to come back. Went last night and Lauren was behind the bar again! Yay! Also tried out the food truck, Fair on Wheels. This really was a nice truck and the food was awesome. They sold out of empanadas by the time we went, so we hat steak tacos and mozzarella sticks. Both were great. Toward the end of the night a random woman walked up and started talking to my wife at the bar, come to find out, she was the matriarch of the family business, Patricia. We had a great conversation with her about the business and how they want to see it grow and really be a part of the community. It was really nice. We will continue to make this one of our regular stops whenever we are up this way. read more

This place seems like it would be amazing if you went when the weather was nice. The day we visited was rainy which meant the inside was pretty busy. It took a while to get service and even longer to tab out. The drinks themselves were tasty though as were the spirits. I just wish we would have had better service and the ability to be outside away from some of the noise. This was the best "tasting visit" we had over a long holiday weekend. It was so good, we went back again! Big Creek has an awesome tasting room and a great outdoor area. There was a food truck on station when we were there Sunday afternoon. The spirits were tasty. I really just came for the bourbon, which was really good. We visited not once but twice in our first trip to the Dahlonega area of North Georgia. The selection of beverages was great but the flavors infused in them was absolutely awesome! The gin was my favorite, but the bourbon was pretty good too. I think the service was a little cold, and not very engaging. We found this place by accident and it was the best! A new, hip, and beautiful distillery, on the border of Dahlonega and Cleveland-- in the beautiful mountains. We came from Kaya winery and thought we had ran into the new brewery that we'd wanted to try. So we got excited and drove on in! We saw this beautiful outside space, incredible building full of windows, and garage style doors, w all windows. Great space! We sat down, my boyfriend ready for a good beer. Then the friendly bartender starts telling us all the great bourbons and gins they have, and I read the cocktail menu. lol it still hadn't dawned on me, that we weren't at the brewery haha. I don't drink beer, so I wasn't even analyzing it lol. So my boyfriend orders a bourbon flight -- per the bartenders recommendations. We're chatting it up with her, hearing that this place is new, and has big plans. I'm like awesome!! And I tell her "hey! I saw on Yelp, that you guys have trivia night, bingo, and corn hole, and food trucks! How fun! " She's like yeah!! We are trying to do lots of fun things and have more coming, etc. At this point, I still haven't figured out that this is not tantrum brewery that I saw on Yelp haha! Then my boyfriend mentions, while enjoying his bourbons, that didn't I mention a brewery? Lol And I suddenly was soooooooo confused hahaha. It all clicked and I was like wait..... is this not the brewery?! But she also knew all the trivia and other events I referred to...! Lol so I asked her and we all laughed. I guess they're very similar in their events, plans, and even how the buildings look! Super cool to have both in the area. I was so confused how I hadn't seen this place on Yelp then... well, turns out they didn't have one! So no wonder I didn't know lol. So I made one lol. We'll still try the brewery soon, but we're stoked to find this place! Very sleek and trendy setting, decorated so nicely, nice modern and clean bathrooms, very friendly and fun staff, distilled in house whiskeys, and gin. Charcuterie board and snacks on the menu (they were out of the boards that day). A store front in the back, and the distillery you can see through the window. Tours coming soon for it too. And they're fixing up the outside space even more. It looks like a fantastic space, family friendly, plans to have more events and fun things. We can't wait to go back!
