We were traveling through Dahlonega to meet up with a friend and I found this place on Yelp. I wasn't in the mood to fight with the downtown crowd and this location was perfect. This place has many different seating options. There is a section with tables, a section with couches and comfy chairs, and rooms where you can privately meet with your girlfriends, Bible studies, or book clubs. Every member if the staff was kind and helpful. It is obvious they genuinely care about the customer experience. Now, on to the food. I took one bite of my sausage and egg Sammie on Ciabatta and seriously started laughing. I have never done that before but the sandwich was so good that it was shocking. The bread was so soft and flavorful. It was such a hearty sandwich. I love a good flight option and this one did not disappoint. I got to try all of their specialty lattes with oatmilk. This will be our new meetup place whenever we pass through town.
Coming to this cafe gave my girlfriend and I the perfect small-mountain town vibe beginning to our day. The atmosphere in here is straight out of a hallmark movie, and the food was absolutely delicious. We were surprised by the price, but the portion size and quality was explanation enough when we received our food. The staff was very kind as well! This is a must do for a day in Dahlonega :)
We were on our way home from Helen and found this awesome cafe. First of all, I love a good pun in name so I was drawn to that. Secondly, the place was so cute and decorated like a cabin so it felt very homey. They had spread of baked goods and pastries, but we went with some good ol coffee and I got homemade egg bites and a fresh side salad. The egg bites were fluffy and delicious, and just needed a pinch of salt. The salad was light and fresh, it was all the perfect amount of healthy food to start my day! The staff were so friendly and kind, I can't wait to come back when we're in GA again!

When you walk in to Bare Necessities coffee, you're transported to a cozy environment where you want to linger for a while. We ordered an Iced Strawberry Fields Matcha from the Summer menu. The service was outstanding and the girls were knowledgeable. The bathroom and dining areas were very clean.
One of the best breakfast and lunch cafes in Georgia hands down. The place is clean, the food is delicious and the staff along with the owners care about everything that represents their establishment. A true 10 and must try. Tops on my list. Their desserts are incredible and homemade as well.

Seating is plentiful inside with many bakery options, coffees and lattes, breakfast and lunch items! We decided to get a latte flight ($20) because we couldn't choose - we LOVED all four of them but my favorite had to be the bear! The breakfast sandwich can come with different proteins or breads and I chose the focaccia and bacon, so heavenly and BIG I honestly couldn't finish and had to take home. Such a cozy ambiance here. I will say it took about 20 minutes for the food to come out however they were busy and appeared to be making them to order. I would come again!

I absolutely adored this place! It's a bit unassuming from the road but the inside is so cozy and welcoming. I got the avocado toast with fruit and a vanilla latte. I always appreciate a coffee shop with actual mugs. It was busy but got the good relatively quickly. I grabbed a chocolate chip cookie for the road and wish I'd have gotten a dozen- those are delicious! Make sure to get one.

So glad we stopped here on the way back home! Everything was excellent from the service to the food and beverages! Originally we ordered our food to go for the road trip home but the atmosphere was so cozy we decided to stay and eat. Highly recommend if you enjoy coffee and an awesome place to sit and drink it!

This was a quaint little cafe to stumble upon during my trip to Dahlonega. From someone who frequents shops in the "big city" of Atlanta, it was a nice change of pace to experience the small town atmosphere. The decor was straight out of a Hallmark movie! It was a Saturday morning around brunch time so it was very busy but the cashier did a great job keeping the line moving. This is not the place to go if you're looking for a QUICK bite to eat though. Our latte flight took around 20ish minutes to get to our table but we decided to eat in so that wasn't much of big deal for us. The BEC sandwich didn't have much flavor but a hint of hot sauce could be a game changer for it. It looked pretty though lol The latte flight also wasn't very hot and they kind of all tasted the same. If I ever make it back, I'll settle for a single drink. Overall, I enjoyed my visit! My son and I absolutely love everything about this new cafe. I'm addicted to The August - Fresh sliced avocado and burrata cheese on fresh toasted bread with a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Best I have had in this area. And it also comes with fresh berries or seasonal fruit. Some Vegan and Gluten Free options. Look for my collection jar to maintain my habit. read more

ABSOLUTELY MUST VISIT! This place is a perfect coffee shop. Our Breve latte and mocha lattes were delicious. Ambiance was quiet and cozy. Small nooks or private reservable rooms for get-togethers, meetings, etc. Breakfast was amazing! Service was fast and cheerful. We can't say enough great things about this place. Wow this place is great! The decor is so comforting and what a great place to relax or even do homework! Super clean, very friendly, they even have private rooms to rent or you can hang in if no reservations. Just call and ask. Otherwise, ample space for seating. The coffee was delish and lots of fun baked items. So glad we walked in because this space was just precious! Give them a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

You walk in and you are transported to a shop on a mountain type of vibe and greeted by Abby one of the employees. Abby was very helpful and kind to me and my best friend. My best friend had the avocado toast and it was very good . I had the sunrise parfait it was the perfect portion for breakfast and very fresh. As a family who travels a lot and is obsessed with coffee, we found the cutest family-owned coffee shop in the middle of Dahlonega. The service was wonderful and the food was even better. Being from and living in major cities across the U.S., this place is in the top 5 brunch spots we've been to. They offer great quality foods for great prices, southern hospitality feel, and a dog-friendly environment. If you're ever in or passing Dahlonega, this is the place to go. The owners were amazing and made us feel like family. Their coffee is unique and original with a lot of homemade ingredients. This little spot puts the big city coffee shops to shame. 10/10 would recommend. read more

We recently stopped in to Bear Necessities Cafe after a morning hike. The cafe is warm and inviting whether you want to grab a quick coffee and something to eat or get comfortable in one of the many cozy seating areas. The owners and staff were so friendly and made us feel like we were old friends. The coffee was tasty and the baked goods looked delicious. Dahlonega has been In need of a coffee spot that has good food. Bear necessities not only has the best food out of all the breakfast/ lunch places in dahlonega but has the best coffee as well. We got the breakfast Sammie and the The August and the cinnamon roll iced coffee with oat milk. As soon as I bit into the August my eyes widened and I felt like I was born into a whole new world. It changed me forever and I will never be the same. It's quite literally to die for. The service was amazing! Everyone was so helpful and kind and quite fast. Ambiance is also so unique and cute. For a place that just opened this year they have such an old school shop vibe. There are secret little rooms to unveil as well like a coffee speakeasy read more
