This doc is unprofessional and immature; sounds odd to say about a doctor, but he acts like a dopey kid, clowning around and trying to be funny. Exam was cursory and quick, yet he just started doing something that had nothing to do with why I was there, painfully cutting my toenails WAY TOO DEEP; I had to physically stop him; he giggled like it was funny. When you call the office, it sounds more like a daycare center than a doctor's office, kids playing loudly, and the receptionist repeatedly imploring "Come on, guys!" and then asking you to repeat what you said. Skip the wasted time of going to see this nudnik and his chaotic, unprofessional office. read more

I am tired of unprofessional offices. I do not understand why on earth I have to receive a bill from NYU Langone health of $425 from a Doc I have never seen . Trace back who might have I seen. Look up the procedure code my self and link it to the dermatologist I saw Dr. Zappi. My insurance paid all her claims , and i didn't see the clam: 88305 in my explanation of benefits. Your office should have sent my insurance info to NYU Langone. I don't need to get a bill from them of $425 and figure out it's from the biopsy you took. This is so unprofessional. Now i have to call them waist my time. It's unbelievable how private dermatology practice can make this type of mistakes. read more

I have had skin cancer treatment many times. I was a freckle faced redhead until my hair went grey/white, but Never Experienced the pain of this treatment. I had been using a great doctor at Columbia Presbyterian for decades, until she moved to another state. No one ever made me cry from the burning pain like this. They (husband/wife) gave me a cream to use for a few weeks on my face that felt like being singed every moment with a hot iron for over weeks. I jumped out of my seat several times and cried! When I subsequently called to tell them about my pain, they did not seem to understand how awful this treatment was and could not help me. read more

This place is a complete JOKE. The wife is who I went to. She was quick and dismissive and did NOT take me seriously. I went there because I had bald patches all over my scalp and also I had these painful pimples all over my legs. She diagnosed me with Alopecia Areata and the pimples were a staph infection. She told me to go and get my bloodwork done. I have great insurance and have never paid almost 400 dollars for bloodwork EVER. I have had the same insurance through my job since 2008. What made me never want to go back there was when I said to Dr. Zappi (The wife) do you think the cause of the alopecia could be me being in a stressful toxic relationship? She responded and said "Of course. Give me a break and get rid of the guy". So callous and so cold. Well "the guy" committed suicide back in June. I know she's not a therapist but for Christ Sake you don't tell someone to get rid of the guy. The alopecia has gotten better since I started seeing another dermatologist with a more tolerable bedside manner who's a little more empathetic to a 39 year old woman who's hair is falling out in clumps. She had more options other than the cortisone injections. She recommended different creams, supplements and sprays that I could try. What works for me may not work for the next person. They are MONEY HUNGRY!!!! They checked off tests that were not covered under my insurance that I did not need. I'll pay them 20 dollars a month until it's paid. I wish I NEVER stepped foot in that dungeon. read more

Was recommended to Dr. Zappi by my brother-in-law who has used him for years. I live in New Jersey and have not been happy with my current dermatologist and decided it was worth the trip and expense to go to see Dr. Zappi in New York. Both me and my wife set up appointments. She went first and then it was my turn. I had a large cyst on my back that should have been taken out by my NJ doctor, but he never did it. Dr. Zappi did it right in the office. Had it for years, now it is gone. He also took care of a number of other issues, skin tag, pre-cancerous spots on my face and even cut back a large nail on my toe that has been a problem for many years and told me how to get rid of the fungus problem. I thought he was very thorough, took care of all of my problems and concerns and all in one visit. My wife was also happy with him, so we both would rate our visit and Dr. Zappi a 5 stars. I just gave his name to my daughter-in-law so she can visit him as well. read more

Dr. Zappi was my physician during my accutane treatment. He's very kind, practical and understanding.

Please read this review when you consider going here. I arrived 10 minutes earlier than appointment time, but still waited for extra half an hour with my infant baby girl. But if the treatment was great I will just let the waiting time go. It was not. The treatment was terrible. I went in to have my several eczema spots treated, Dr.Zappi only looked at one spot and jumped into a conclusion. He prescribed a cream which later proved does not work on me at all. After briefly looked at my eczema, he noticed I have a spider vein on my face, then he began to prompting me to have it treated that day and spend thousand dollars. I said I will think about it and I asked him about what should I do with my c section scar. He said we can have it treated it today as well. I asked him how much the treatment would be. He said the injection will be included in his appointment fee, which will be around $185 without insurance. So I agreed on having one and thinking it will be less than $185 because I had insurance to cover it. However the bill tend out to be $240, which is more than what I had to pay without the insurance. $60 difference is not a big deal. However, I found it pretty funny that this clinic charges more when you have insurance than without insurance. And the most ridiculous thing is, even after his treatment my scar still remain what it was and nothing changed at all. I basically spent $300 on this experience with nothing fixed. Time, energy and money wasted on this shady clinic. I will never go back. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Zappi since I moved to NYC. He's super nice, unlike a lot of dermatologists I've been to, actually listens to you, and in general seems to do a great job. He even brought me apple juice the one time I stupidly got freaked out by getting a shot (and skipping breakfast) and passed out. read more

Complet waste of time and space. I showed up on time and was handed about 10/15 pages of needless paperwork asking for my SSN and other privet information that not his or his staff's business. WI waited over an hour and finally left. I never got seen and I'll never get my time back. It's not even worth the time to make the call to book an appointment. Worthless people. read more

Dr. Zappi was great, very friendly (especially for 8:45 am) and listened to my concerns. I could also tell that he was really nice to his other patients and staff which really makes a difference to me. Happy staff=better customer service. Out of the blue, I started to suffer from really severe allergy 4 years ago. I could not understand the cause of the allergy no matter how hard I look. After visits to multiple allergists, and visits to doctors, dermatologist and Chinese doctors, no one can figure out what is wrong with me. Without much expectations, I visited Dr. Zappi one day when my allergy flared up because his office is close to my new apartment. He heard about my symptoms and the previous allergy tests I have done, and suggested that I get tested for one set of relatively uncommon tests. I was very skeptical at first both about doing more tests especially when I was focused on symptom relieve. But, little do I know that the tests were exactly what I needed. My mysterious cause of allergy is the hand soap in my company. Dr. Zappi singlehandedly gave me back a normal life. Dr. Zappi also prescribed light treatment which instantly helped relieve my symptom. In general, like what other reviewers said, he is kind, understanding and very nice. And yes, the office is organized and if I show up on time the wait is not long. read more
