    Jumbo Pretzel and Beer Cheese
    Greg W.

I've reviewed Aslin before and I'll focus on the food and coffee I had this time since Izzi is that side of house. The staff is fantastic as always. Super friendly and eager to chat. Assuming it's not crazy and you're keeping them tied up, that is. The coffee is really solid and they've got some locally made pastries in addition to their breakfast sandwiches. For lunch/dinner you can get more traditional brewpub fare in pretzels, pizza, salad, etc. After a ton of drinks we opted for a pretzel and it was really solid. The mustard was actually sharp and the beer cheese was actually cheese instead of melted Velveeta. If you go during the day you shouldn't have a hard time finding a spot but I think it gets pretty crazy in the afternoon and evenings.

Dill Salmon bagel sandwich. It's got tomato, salmon, cucumber, dill, cream cheese, bagel. So YUMMY!

So very impressed for breakfast! I mean I already love Aslin beer. I thought oh this might be weird to go for coffee and breakfast but let's try.... Coffee was good, solid, yummy, exactly what I asked for. 2 shot oat milk latte with a little lavender, pretty simple and straight forward. I was still surprised how good it tasted! Then the bagel salmon dill breakfast sandwich was REALLY good too! Like better then it had right to be. So highly recommend!!! We'd come back for sure.

Deep fried cheese curds. Don't judge...just eat!!

Before you get hypnotized by the bad reviews, hear me out. I have three things I want you to consider: 1. Beer....lots of beer 2. Pizza....lots of pizza 3. Cheese curds....deep fried....trust me Now that we got that out of the way, let me give you my view on Herndon's newest hot spot. This past Friday, my wife and i decided to get out of the house and try out Izzi. We are normally patrons of the Breeze or Jimmy's, but decided it was time to branch out. We had no issue finding a table, even though the place was hopping. There are no waiters, in the traditional sense. Instead, each table has its own QR code that you do all of your ordering and payment through. I was skeptical when I started, but became a fan very quickly. For our appetizer, we went with the fried cheese curds. This falls far outside our nutritional comfort zone, but hey...why not? They were amazing. Hot, crispy and accompanied with a dipping sauce that tasted similar to a remoulade sauce. We at every last curd. No curd was left unturned, no curd was left undipped and no curd was left uneaten. Next up was the pizza. We went with the 16in pepperoni pizza that includes ricotta, along with mozzarella cheese. The crust has a sourdough tang that made both of us very happy. It also has a nice swirl of hot honey that gave the pizza a sweet and spicy kick, but not so much that it takes away from the rest of the pie. We ate the whole pie. No regrets. Thanks goes out to all of those hardworking bees that made our pie possible. There are so many things to try, and that doesn't include the long list of Aslin beer. We will be back to try the sandwiches, salads and sides. The service is quick and pleasant, they keep everything spotless and the open air dining room is really nice. You can enjoy eating outside without having to worry about the weather. On a separate note, they are open in the morning for coffee/breakfast. Given the increase in prices at Weird Brothers, Izzi is an excellent alternative. Their coffee is as good, if not better, than Weird Brothers. Stop and try it for yourself! Anyhow, I am giving Izzi five stars. It is a refreshing addition to the downtown Herndon dining scene. Good food, fair prices and a really nice place to kick back and relax.

I was excited to try the new restaurant that opened up right next to Aslin. I love Aslin and their menu options, however I was a little disappointed with the pizza next door sadly. I typically enjoy thick pizza like the Sicilian style, however I felt like they were very skimpy with toppings. The pizza felt drier than I hoped for and they really didn't put a lot on top. Toppings are extra, so I felt they definitely could've been more generous. My boyfriend got the same single Sicilian slice and added mushrooms - I think maybe only two or three mushrooms were added. Just kinda a steep price ($1 more) to get barely anything extra. I'd be open to trying other stuff on the menu but I'm hesitant now since I felt like I didn't really get the bang for my buck.

All of the small plates were gag-levels of salty. The brussel sprouts had visible piles of salt.

A giant pile of underwhelming. We ordered several shareables and all of them were shockingly salty. I couldn't eat the olives and couldn't eat more than two of the brussel sprout halves because I couldn't stomach the salt. I've attached a photo of a pile of salt that was visible on the brussel sprouts. The fried cheese curds were salty, but tolerable. Nice and crunchy. The last thing we ordered from the food menu is the frisee and mushroom salad. Like the other things - salty. More tolerable than the olives or brussel sprouts though, but I would not order this again. The menu said "olives and vegetables," but there we almost no vegetables. I've attached a photo. The Americano I ordered was maybe the worst item. It had a weird chemically-floral aftertaste. I couldn't get past about five sips.

Always a great time. They have great beer and great service. Location is excellent and have had numerous fun times with friends there (and at Aslin).

4/5, July 2022. We stopped by to check out the new place as we're long time fans of Aslin. They've literally just opened this week so we were expecting some hick ups and we did have them. But the managers were really good about keeping us informed and taking care of things. To me that's a huge part of getting a place stood up. If you've got that you're on the right track. The service was very good all things considered and you can order from your table from either the restaurant or the tap room next door. That process worked fairly well and our drinks arrived reasonably quickly given how busy they were on such a beautiful night. I look forward to seeing this place reach its potential and we'll definitely be back.

I ordered food from here while drinking at Aslin Beer Company. It took a while to get the pizza and the service was slow when I even went up to ask for ranch. The pizza itself went well with beer, but was slightly burnt. I want to try more of their food next time to get a better opinion, but my first impression so far is it's not anything special.

THIS PLACE IS ONE OF THOSE TOP 10%-ers! * Conveniently located (even though I hateeeee that little gummed-up stretch of Main Streer in Fairfax!!) but the shop is on the little side strip out of the fray of the main retailers Ace Hardware and TJ Maxx. Lot parking is abundant for a quick in and out if you're grabbing to go. * SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF and FAST, EFFICIENT SERVICE - I went in around 9AM on a Sat - no long line - walked right up to the counter and ordered - sat at a table and my order was called about 10 minutes later. * It was bfast time and I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sando $8 on a lightly toasted ET bagel - delicious and they didn't skimp on any of the ingredients! The bagel was big, hearty and chewy. A perfect breakfast to go. * PRICES ARE VERY FAIR and I felt I got good value for what I paid. $13 basically for a bfast sando and a bottle of juice (drinks are always a rip-off - $3.50, half the cost of my sando but it is what it is...) * The inside of the restaurant itself is sorta small and cramped - as you walk in, the left side is the ordering side, the right side is the seating area with a good amount of tables and chairs - most importantly, they keep the place neat and clean which is a big deal to me. It's a little dark and drab in ambiance/decor and I could see it getting a bit chaotic if the place fills up and with long lines at the counter. On nice weather days, there are some outside tables. I don't come to this area of Fairfax all that often - just happened to be in the area that morning and literally searched for a bagel place on Yelp and hardly any came up. Fortunately I happened to be close by. When I'm in the area again AND happen to be hankerin' for a bagel sandwich, I'll most definitely come back here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS INDIE BAGEL SHOP IN DOWNTOWN FAIRFAX!

This definitely seems like a great spot for a quick breakfast on the go. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. One suggestion I'd make is to invest in paper menus or QR code menus--the menu was a bit hard to read, especially with so many options. I ordered three onion bagels to go, along with a container of plain cream cheese and a smaller chive cream cheese. Unfortunately, the bagels were disappointing. They were pretty hard and didn't have much onion flavor at all. On the bright side, the cream cheese was amazing--both the plain and chive were super creamy and flavorful, easily the highlight of my visit. Figured I'd stop in for a bacon egg and cheese bagel sandwich and an OJ for a hearty breakfast hankerin'. The place had been renovated since my last pre-covid visit - much needed - and was nicely done up, clean and neat with plenty of table seating and a nice ambiance. I was grabbing to go - order taker was friendly and pleasant and my sandwich was made quickly. The rub for me though was how skimpy and anemic the bfast sandwich was! I took a pic of my sandwich and I'm sorry I didn't take the picture with something to show scale. First and foremost - Einstein bagels have gotten significantly smaller in all around size. What the HELL happened?? Dudes - you aren't fooling anyone with your version of shrinkflation! Laughable, the size of their bagels! Second - to add insult to injury - the bacon, egg and cheese portions in the bagel sando were skimpy as all get out! THIN SLIVERS OF EACH. Check out my photo. I will say that they do ask you if you want 1 or 2 eggs in your BEC sandwich - yesssss I chose 1 egg but ASSumed that 1 egg would be plenty enough. I mean "1 egg" is never really 1 egg, right?!!! WRONGGGGGGG. My reaction to that silly "1 or 2 eggs?" question is - c'mon Einstein - don't ask - just put a decent portion of eggs in the sandwich - it all comes out in the wash and you make your profit whether it's 1 or 2 eggs if you do it right and train your workers. (Anyway, with your shrinkflation-ed bagels, you should be able to afford to put more BEC in the sandwich and still maintain the illusion that the sando is stuffed to the gills. lol.) #eyeroll My goodness - dare I say - McDonald's makes a better and heartier bfast sando (for better value) than this place. First time back since pre-covid and sadly my last. With even fast casual joints fighting for every dollar in consumers' pockets, Einstein you need to show us decent value for our money - this ain't it. BIG RIP OFF AND NOT WORTH THE PRICE THEY CHARGE.
