I have had four BMWs. Three were purchased new and the day the warranties ran out were also the days I moved the cars here. I have never met anyone more straightforward, trustworthy, and honesty in taking care of our cars including one Mercedes. Tony seems to be more of a word-of-mouth business. Tony goes above and beyond for his customers. I had battery drainage problem in my 2001 ML320 Mercedez and I was caused by a shortage. Problem was, where is shortage? Tony spent the whole day trying to find that shortage and manage to just charge me for the diagnosis fee. He even refilled my steering fluid and the other mechanic, Jorge, also got the overhead light to work again. If you own a Mercedes Benz, this is the place to go. Hands down, don't bother looking anywhere else. When I was looking for a shop to take my older diesel Mercedes I found Europa was highly recommended on some online forums and had good reviews on yelp so I gave them a try and I'm glad I did. Tony went over my car with a fine tooth comb when I first brought it in. He pointed out a lot of things that another shop and I missed. Tony is very knowledgeable, honest and will break everything down to what repairs are necessary, what repairs to expect in the future, and recommendations on other repairs but he will not try to hard sell you on anything. The quality of the work is excellent and they use OEM parts whenever possible. I feel a little bad because my car has been proven to be very difficult for a few repairs including tracking down the replacement parts, but Tony makes sure that everything gets done the right way to his satisfaction and I am very grateful. read more

First of all I want to thank Tony for taking necessary precaution when a strange noise erupted in my BMW 330CI. He recommended that I tow it in and his knowledge avoided a major transmission problem. I had a sheared flex plate and Tony managed the repair effectively and in a very timely manner. Tony closed the shop for Christmas and let me know my repair was in process. He surprised me when he and Jorge came in between Christmas and New Years to complete the repair and true to form, his high quality work came in at a very fair price. Finding a good mechanic is like finding a good pair of jeans - sometimes you're lucky to find a good fit. Tony's been my mechanic for at least 3 years now and he's great! Very honest and the repair prices are much more affordable than going to a dealership. He explains everything about the repairs very well and never makes me feel like I'm asking dumb questions. He's even explained the diagnostic reports, so I'm aware of what the alert messages mean on my dashboard. After each service/repair, he always writes on my receipt what service/repair will be coming up. Not at all pushy, but lets me know that in so many miles I need to replace brake pads, or fix a thermostat, etc. Unlike other places that will do repairs without you knowing and then tell you after the fact. Overall, Tony is very professional, charming and nice. I've recommended many of my friends to him and they all say the same thing - "What a nice guy!" read more

Wow!!! There are still honest mechanics in LA!!! Well......... at least one ;) My mother needed some work done on her 06' C350. After getting a few really high priced quotes from other mechanics I asked a few friends and was referred to Tony. He repaired my mothers car for close to half of what the other mechanics were charging and was very honest and thorough about other work that should be done soon. He also replaced my buddy's ML320 coolant reservoir tank a couple days ago. Within a matter of hours, he ordered the part, had it delivered and installed it . Car was ready the same day. I found Europa Motor from Yelp. With all good reviews, it is worth a try. Now, I am happy I have trusted the reviewers. The service was great. Tony and George are friendly, informative, and skillful. The price is reasonable. This will be my goto place in the future. My MBZ has long passed warranty. It does not make sense sending the old car to a dealership as they always charge for high price and they always demand to replace many parts. I have sent to a couple of other service shops. I was not satisfied by either the quality of the service or by the price I was charged. Like the other reviewers commented, Europa is absolutely top notch and excellent service. read more

There was a story of a single lady who time after time felt unsure of every "slick" mechanic trying to sell and charge for things her car really didn't need... that is until her path crossed with Tony! I am so glad I found him through the recommendation of a friend. He has been taking care of my 10+ year old Mercedes for several years. It has been great to know that he cares about my car like I do and always gives a heads up of what might be needed in the future to maintain the car so it stays just as reliable as it has been through his maintenance of it for the next several years. This review is quite overdue but Tony is an amazing Mercedes mechanic! Very happy to have found this place in the Venice/Mar Vista area. I've brought my car here at least twice now, one to diagnose a very odd, potentially super expensive transmission issue. The second for regular service and oil change. In both instances, Tony went above and beyond what was required. Explaining everything that was done and why it was done. Explaining why some things would need to be fixed now and why other things could wait indefinitely. I have grown to very much trust what is recommended here, which sometimes can be difficult at local mechanics. To top it off, Tony is very personable, has an excellent memory about the smallest things and someone I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a Mercedes mechanic in the area. Went in to service my 2014 S550 and could not have been happier with the experience. I wanted to make sure I went to a certified and professional Mercedes-Benz shop, and I found a gem. I was also adamant about finding a good compromise for going directly to a dealer, as they usually charge an arm and a leg just to look at a car. I have been bringing my cars to Tony for years now. I wrote a review when he was at his old address, about 4/5 yrs ago, and now he has moved to a new location, CONGRATULATIONS on your new place. I know Tony specializes in Mercedes, and I had owned 5 of them, from 1967 200 Diesel to 1998 E320. Now that we own different cars (Cadillac, Toyota and Mitsubishi) I still bring them to him for maintenance, etc. I have sent my friends to him, and they too were glad to find him. I have never worked with such an honest mechanic in my entire life. I take my Mercedes in for regular service, and he always provides reasonable recommendations. If he doesn't think I need to do it right away, he actually says "You can probably wait a month." (This has NEVER been my experience!) Tony provides THE BEST customer service. I appreciated his thoroughness, attention to detail and explaining everything that I needed done on my car. I took my car in to get a quote for a Service B on my Mercedes. He went the extra mile and changed my headlight bulb and topped my fluids off and just told me to pay him for the headlight bulb the next time I came in for the actual service. This was an amazing experience compared to the last place I took my car to for a quote in the area, who wanted to charge me $800 for something that I didn't need. Super honest guy! I went in thinking I was going to get ripped off ( I mean... it's a repair guy for expensive foreign cars... I think getting ripped off is pretty standard) but instead he treated us almost like he owed us a favor... not in a "just because YOU'RE awesome, I'm going to give you a discount!!!!" kind of way... I have been taking my 1985 Mercedes 280sl to Tony for a couple of years now, and have always been impressed with his knowledge of the car's mechanics. His recommendations for service are always precise, and he never fails to fix the problem quickly and at very reasonable prices. The first time I took my car to Tony, it had failed the CA emissions test rather badly. I left the car with him, and within 3 hours he had repaired the emissions and taken the car to the testing center himself. When I returned for the car I was given the emissions certificate. Tony was great! I took an '05 ML350 in because the brake service warning light came on. He promised a quick turnaround and called me within an hour. His original estimate was exactly what it cost. He even changed the batteries in the key fob and a rear wiper. Very pro, very clean explanations, very happy customer. Plus he was a third of what the dealer quoted me. I had badly damaged the drivers side mirror on my Mercedes GL 450 when I pulled out of my garage too quickly. Since it looked so bad, I assumed I would need a new mirror. I called Simonsen (my regular dealer) to ask about the cost and availability of a new mirror. I was told the part alone would cost me $1,900! That didn't include labor or taxes either. I looked on Yelp for an independent dealer just to see if it could be fixed instead of replaced. When I called Europa, Tony answered the phone himself, and told me I could come right over and he would check it out. He spent about 15-20 minutes carefully re-assembling it, and he was able to make it look like nothing had happened! Not only did he do the work on the spot, he said there would be no charge! I gave him $20 for lunch and he was happy. Needless to say, I will definitely go back to him for any service needs that are not covered by my warranty. read more

This guy is the best mechanic I've ever known. I recently had to buy a new (used) car, and I really really wanted it to be a Mercedes just because I knew Tony would take care of it. I knew even if I bought a car that needed some work, it would be okay because of Tony. He's taken care of my 1985 300SD for 3 or 4 years now, and he always blows me away with his honesty and competence. I'll throw one example at you -- one time one of my rear back windows quit working in the down position. A real bummer since the car is completely wide open that way, right? It happened on a friday and I couldn't get it to Tony before he closed. So Saturday morning my wife took it to the Santa Monica MB dealer's shop. They said it would cost $625 to fix. I balked at that, called Tony to leave him a message and he answered the phone. He just happened to be in the shop. He said if I could bring it down in the next hour he could at least look at it. I did so, and he fixed it on the spot for $40. Yes, 40 versus 625. Other times he could have easily charged me whatever he felt like for this or that, and he's always been just ridiculously honest. So when a repair does cost a little bit of money, you know he's not b.s.ing you! He's just a real good guy too, and he remembers you and your car. And his enthusiasm for his work, and for the cars, is plain to see. Here's another story -- not long ago I was having a bit of a family emergency and I ran out of fuel on the 10 freeway. I managed to coast down a ramp onto LaBrea, right in front of a station that luckily sold diesel. I bought a can and put a couple of gallons into the tank. But then the car wouldn't start. I called Tony on my cell and he talked me through how to bleed the fuel line so the car would actually start back up. Right there on the spot. He saved my a** by just being a great conscientous guy, it was just like having a friend to call. I can't recommend him highly enough. read more
