I never expected to write a 5-star review for this type of business based on my experiences, as a woman, at other places throughout my car owning days. But, if you have a European car, you have to reward yourself with this experience. In my hiring days, I would have wanted to steal away everyone I met. The service needed was on a Mercedes that I'd been taking elsewhere for way too long. My experience started on the phone with Lilly who is the ultimate professional. I was given an estimate over the phone before I scheduled and the final cost came in under. Upon arrival I then had the pleasure of dealing with Rob who was amazing. He didn't talk down to me, he explained what was going to happen, he gave me a time estimate, offered me fresh coffee (Keurig), snacks, cold water, and, since I was there early, an Amy's donut. Then I say down in a spotless, very comfortable waiting room with comfy chairs and waited. After the job was done every single thing done went through a thorough QC by one of the owners (Victor) and then I was given a printout of the work done, suggestions (no pressure) of future work, and follow-up texts. I was told by one of the employees that the owners treat them really well (good job Dana and Victor) so, in turn, they take good care of the customers. I met all the mechanics (the owners were feeding everyone that day) and they were all clean, personable, and seemed very happy. I will never take my car anywhere else and my husband will be taking his BMW there very soon. The value added when you have faith in the people taking care of something that's as important as personal transportation is priceless. Gotta shout out to John who started the business (met him too), he created this place and it appears as though the new owners have maintained his standards in both practices and personnel. My daughter is a student at UofA & her car's headlights were starting to go out. We are in Nevada so can't help her and I turned to Yelp. I contacted European Auto because of their Yelp rating & location from my daughter's apartment. Of course there was additional work they recommended be done, and there was some back & forth trying to understand what it was all about. There was also some back & forth about how long it was going to take. But overall, we are pretty satisfied the work, service, scheduling, and time it took to complete. The fourth star is for arranging a ride to pick up our daughter to take her back to the shop when her car was ready. I haven't done enough business with them to say for certain they are a 5 star business, but we are satisfied and they would be our first call if our daughter had more car issues. read more

I had the costly misconception they were the most qualified until several of their misdiagnoses practically deemed my car undrivable. Took daughters car in for a check up before driving back home 15 hours after her school ended. They were very good to responding and the work done quickly. They offered car shuttle rides back to my hotel, but that day they didn't have it available so they gave me credits for an Uber ride there and back. I highly recommend this import auto shop. I can't rate them based on their work-- but the customer service was enough for me to give 1 star. I am visiting my parents from Los Angeles and had taken my car into the Land Rover dealership and they told me I needed to get the heater hoses on my car replaced due to a leak. I called European Auto Tech today to see if I could get a quote from them and was astounded from the attitude I was given from the lady who answered the phone. Not only was she rude when I asked about the heater hoses that needed to be replaced on my car, she was also talking down on me like I didn't know what I was talking about. She was extremely dismissive in her tone, saying "We won't even be able to see your car until next week anyways." (I never said I needed it done right away, but okay!). At the very end, she proceeds to ask me what quote Range Rover gave me, which I thought was complete unnecessary information. I'm calling you to get YOUR quote... Range Rover's quote is completely irrelevant. Why do you need to know the amount that they quoted me at? Are you basing YOUR quote off of what other dealerships gave me? I'm confused. Anyways, I will not be making an appointment here and will be taking my business elsewhere. The few interactions I've had through phone calls seem VERY unwelcoming. Just a bit of advice, considering we are in a Global Pandemic and kindness goes a long way these days: When someone calls, simply just be polite and helpful. European Auto Tech is more either less skilled, or dishonest .... in comparison to other shops in town. I do not know how this place has so many good reviews. untrustworthy . horrible customer service. rude. Basically did hundreds of dollars work for nothing, actually made the problem worse. Told us it was fixed, took car home, overheating. Called the shop, they should have towed it but told us we already used the free tow to get it there the first time - but wait they sent us home with a " fixed car " ?? Fine we start driving it back to shop as we are driving the replaced piece breaks off with coolant exploding from the engine, steaming, etc. Definitely couldn't drive it then. Called them, they were so rude, basically stole hundreds of dollars from us. We called Stuttgart Autohaus LLC , suck it Euro Autos... BS take your $$$. Oh and this is a friday at like 3/4 pm They( strutt..) towed it to the shop, looked at it that afternoon, knew exactly what was wrong with it. I had used both shops prior to this experience, different vehicles, etc. And I wish I had just gone to Stuttgart Autohaus in the first place. They have always been friendly, fast, and efficient. They knew what was wrong with the car within a couple hours whereas eurotech at the end still had no idea. If you are the customer who just forks money with no question, and okay with getting ripped off go to euro... **** read the other bad reviews they just do it - but some customers are smart enough to do their research.... part, repair costs , etc. every bad review on here is a customer who doesnt want to be scammed by Johns BS and sees thru it!***** Point is, John and his team like making $$$, not caring about their customers, and wanting to give them good/costly service - you may think they're great... but did you look into what they did to your vehicle... parts... work... call other shops.. I wrote a review a few months ago for E.A.T. saying thay they can be a bit pricey. As an update, I just had my front control arm bushings replaced and was charged about $100 less than Jon-Paul's Independent BMW repair, who I've also had awesome experience with. John at European Auto Tech is a great manager who definitely cares about his customers and about getting them a fairly good price on [usually] expensive German repair issues. They also gave me a lift to university as my car was being worked on, which was awesome. I think it's pretty clear that European Auto Tech and JP's Independent BMW are the only places to take your BMW after warranty (stay far away from the stealership). John's team at E.A.T. has definitely impressed me with their level of service, and I was really pleased that they took the time to show me what was actually wrong with my old bushings (and gave them to me to take home). First, thank you yelpers who rated EAT before me! It was nice to have a good feeling, going into this car repair... When I pulled into EAT for the first time, I was happy to see that I there was not one, but two other VW vanagons parked in the lot. Clearly, I had found the place to get your vanagon fixed! Mine had just failed AZ emissions and needed some help. Overall, the whole experience was very good, probably on the expensive side, but probably worth it. When I arrived at 8:00a, they were just opening up their clean, organized shop, putting out the flags, and getting ready for business. It was clear that they had parked all of the nicest cars in the garage, and kept any that wouldn't fit in the fenced, locked parking area in the back. By the early afternoon, the owner of the shop called and clearly explained the problems before going ahead with any work, and even offered to take my van to get emissions retested for me for free - definitely shows that they are confident in their work. Had I gone to a local gas station, I'm guessing they would have played with the timing and idle speed and gotten it to barely pass emissions. At EAT, they did a very careful diagnosis (including compression testing) and helped my van run better and pass with flying colors. While the price was more than I wanted to pay (isn't is always?), I think it's always a good deal in auto service when your car is cared for by people who are experience, skilled, and careful in auto repair. I own a BMW 328i that I purchased from the BMW dealer in Tucson. No sooner did I drive off the lot the headlamp went out. I returned a week later to have it replaced. As I was leaving, the warning light came on again for the headlamp! The BMW tech did not even install the dang headlight correctly. To me that should have been a minor fix, yet, it was a run around with them to get it fixed right. With that said, I have been going to European Auto Tech for the past year and didn't want to leave a review until I had several experiences with them. I have found the repairmanship work to be very good. I don't know that the prices are high, low or not because the bottom line is BMW's are pricey to keep up no matter what. I will say that an oil change costs $89.00. What I like about them is that they are organized, professional, clean, and they explain exactly what needs to be done for the repair. They give me a price upfront for the labor and parts separately and let me decide if I want to move forward. They have done minor fixes for me without charging labor -- only the parts! They even did a courtesy wash the last time I brought it in. They also give you a ride to and from work or home or even the mall for a few hours if you live/work in the Tucson area while they do the repairwork. To make owning a BMW more affordable they offer a Bosch Credit Card that provides 10% off parts and can be paid off in 6 months without interest. I would highly recommend EUROPEAN AUTO TECH for your import car needs. read more

My ML350 TPMS, Check Engine, Right Brake light was on for quite sometime and I decided to go to EAT to resolve them after reading the reviews on Yelp. Besides those electrical problems, my car was pulling to the left and my left side mirror casing was a bit out of place. EAT ran a electrical check on all those electrical problems, change out the faulty brake light and diagnose my pulling problem for a total charge of $81!!! Best of all, they check my VIN with Merc and informed me that my car is still under warranty and I should bring the car to Merc to get the electrical problem fixed. I am very IMPRESSED with their service and reasonable pricing. They even offer complimentary shuttle service to and fro from my place at Cortaro, a 15-20 minutes drive! For the excellent service and honesty, I will highly recommend european car owners to go to EAT to service their car. read more

They replaced the control arm bushings on my BMW 3 series, that promptly failed again within a year after only 5K miles. They owned up and promptly replaced it under their 36K miles 3 year warranty. They are slightly more expensive than Autohaus Tucson, another great place for BMW and MBs, but the extra cost may be for the longer warranty. Autohaus, an excellent place, only warranties for 12 months. Lucky to have 2 good places in Tucson for BMWs after the factory warranty expires. Took 1 star away for the higher price. read more

I have my 1987 300 SDL Mercedes Benz the power steering pump went out. I am from out of town traveling through, they proceeded to diagnose the problem with the car. And gave a quote. the part unfortunately was in Germany and had to be ordered.. They graciously agreed to let me leave my car for 3 weeks while I continued on with my trip, in a rental property car. In my opinion they went above and beyond to make a customer happy. & I would highly recommend them who anyone traveling through, or local. The repair was not cheap. Mercedes parts are very expensive. The labor charges were in line. Since I already had a quote from my normal Mercedes repair shop. Great people to deal with. read more

I'm new to Arizona and I drove my old Land Rover down from Washington. It wasn't running great to begin with, but when I got here it needed some work. I've been ripped off quite a few times. I cannot say enough positive things about European Auto Tech. It's never fun to be faced with auto repairs, but Linda and her team made the experience very pleasant for us. My 16 year old's BMW was rather under the weather and we took it in based on a recommendation from a family member. Naturally, we were skeptical because the industry is full of less than reputable companies. That is absolutely not the case with European Auto Tech. For example, once the repair codes were run for the car, Linda revealed a list of repairs that would be needed to be done in order to restore the vehicle to optimal condition. Due to the cost of repairs, it would have been very difficult to afford the work. Linda really comforted me when see broke down the list into categories: safety (needs to be done now), recommended (should probably repair sooner rather than later), and "nice to have" (for optimal performance but not necessary). She went on to say that if it were her son, then this is what she would do. We decided to address the safety concerns and come back at a different time for the other work. Linda and her team ensured the safety of my son's vehicle with very effective and efficient repairs and without attempting to guilt us into the other repairs. Hmm. First of all it's expensive to own a BMW, Porsche or VW. If you are not ready to pay to play, then I would advise a Toyota or Honda. Having said that I highly recommend these guys for maintenance and repairs to your German car. I have a VW and after a recent visit for timing belt and associated other items my '04 GTI is running better than ever. They performed the job quickly and talked me out of an unnecessary repair that I wanted made. Good stuff. Car was returned washed and I promptly put 2500 miles on it in a week. I will go back for sure. ***Update - John from EAT just diagnosed my ailing car while I was driving down HWY 91 in CA. I managed to make it to a VW dealer and am waiting for the repair to be completed. John was awesome, offered to help me find a mechanic from Tucson and called me back right away. I think we can all agree that inherent when dealing with any vehicle repair business is stress and distrust. We've all heard horror stories or experienced them ourselves. This is why I'm taking a moment to yelp EAT. I trust these people. Something I never thought I would ever say about anyone servicing my cars. I suspect the repairs I needed done were caused purposefully by someone else that serviced my car to get more money out of me but no way of proving it of course. Three decades of cars and repairs, I never had a shop take photos and walk me into their garage to show me the damage. It's fun to learn. It fosters trust. After always having my Passat taken to the dealership for service, I realized that paying almost $400 for regular service was a rip off. I had my brother look up a bunch of places and this place came highly recommended at half the cost. They did a great job, have pick up and drop off service, and no complaints at all. I recently cleaned out my invoices for the mini cooper I sold a few months ago and realized how much money I had spent on it, and a good chunk of the expense came from E.A.T. Although as a non-technical car owner I cannot comment on how skilled the maintenance work was done to my car, I do feel EAT is pricey and did not seem to specialize in mini coopers. I only came to that realization after taking my car to a Phoenix area shop and have stuck with that place ever since, and each work order only cost me a fraction of the price of what I used to pay. For some reason, car repair is generally more expensive and less transparent in Tucson than elsewhere. EAT is one of the better ones in Tucson, but not the best I've encountered. read more

Same thing w mechanics, and I truly feel this business is more than fair and does quality work without ballooning their rates. I have brought my Mercedes E320 in here three times for different reasons and am more than satisfied w the quality of the work. Unlike the dealer, they do not charge outrageous rates to justify their existence and I completely trust these guys. They have also worked on my wife's VW Beetle w excellent results. I walked to my car upon leaving work one day to find a card for this place left on my windshield. It took me almost 2 years to think twice about this place, since my 2010 VW GTI was still under a service warranty. I was finally up for my 40,000 mile service this month (which included a DSG transmission flush), and was about to bring my car into the dealership. I was quoted approximately $1000 to complete this with the dealership. I called this place for a quote, and was given an estimate of almost 50% cheaper...to include a military discount. OF COURSE I WENT WITH EUROPEAN AUTO TECH! Brought my car there in the morning, and was offered a shuttle ride to get where I needed as well as upon return. I owned a 2002 MINI Cooper for about 10 years, and of all the places I took it, including the MINI dealer in Scottsdale (for warranty purposes), European Auto Tech fixed my MINI better than any other place. While they were always a bit expensive, I attribute that more to the car than the place, I did not feel like they were taking advantage of me. If you want it done right, take it to them. If you want it done cheap, get another car. read more
