I've been going to nail salons for years, and one thing I've learned is that nails are a lot like hair. Finding a personal nail tech makes all the difference. After several experiences at different salons, I finally decided to find my own nail tech, and honestly, it's been one of the best decisions I've made. The one-on-one attention, the ability to communicate clearly about what I want, and the overall quality of service have been a completely different experience. I do feel for the employees at this salon because many of them seem to be working very hard. However, from my personal experience, the service often felt rushed. There were times when staff members were juggling multiple responsibilities, including working the front desk while providing services, which made the experience feel less personalized. Unfortunately, I also had an experience where my cuticles were cut too aggressively during a nail service, and that was one of the moments that pushed me to start looking for a nail tech who could consistently provide the level of care and detail I was looking for. This review is not intended to hurt anyone's business. It's simply my honest experience as a paying customer. I always paid full price and tipped, and I expected quality work in return. Unfortunately, the nail sets I received did not meet my expectations, and in one case, I ended up removing them myself because I was unhappy with the results. If you're looking for a quick pedicure, your experience may be completely different from mine. But if you're looking for detailed nail work, I would encourage you to read reviews carefully and do your research before booking anywhere. At the end of the day, everyone has different standards and experiences. This was mine. I don't regret sharing it because I believe customers deserve to know what others have experienced before spending their hard-earned money. My daughter and I went in to get dipped nails and extensions, but the experience was disappointing. The lady who did mine seemed to be in a hurry, and the results show it. My nails are way too thick, badly shaped, and just overall terrible in appearance. During the process, the dip powder started to bubble, and instead of fixing it, she blamed me--saying I messed them up, even though I hadn't touched anything. While filing, every time I flinched or pulled back because it hurt, she kept saying I was "scared." No, lady, you were hurting me! She even laughed and told me not to look, but how could I not when she was doing such a terrible job? To top it off, the designs are awful. My fingers literally look like candy corn. I have been coming to this nail salon for a while now but I am so disappointed by my visit today. My nail tech seemed like he did not know what he was doing. I felt bad, but poor guy was shaking as he was doing my nails. It seemed as though it was his first time ever doing a pedicure. He barely used the cuticle trimmer and looked like he didn't know how to use the nail clippers or the cuticle trimmer. I have been a faithful customer at European Nail Spa on S. Hulen. My original attendant did my manicures, pedicures and waxing for 11 years then retired because of medical issues. I still reach out to her regularly. Lisa was awesome. I now use Kelly and she is wonderful. I have been with Kelly for about 2 years now. This place does not value the Black Dollar and attempted to be discreet in their discriminatory practices. I went in for a service (2nd visit) and was forced to make an appointment that was 2.5 hours later because "all the techs were busy". That was what they told me, however during this time, a young white woman walks in. I stuck around for a second and looked at the polishes. I heard the manager, try to discreetly ask her what services did she needed and to go have a seat. So I, a black woman have to wait 2.5 hours to be serviced but they can make time immediately for the white woman? Got it and noted. My dollar is valuable as well as my time. I had high hopes on this place becoming a regular stop for me but not with these racist and discriminatory practices. Take your money else where. This is my first time here and I am loving it! Prices are a little expensive from what I'm used to, but I'm not a seasoned pedicure pro. I had searched online for a good salon and this place kept coming up, so I had to give it a try. My mom and I checked in for a mommy-daughter date and were greeted immediately upon coming in the door. Within 2 minutes, we were in our massage chairs getting pampered. EXCELLENT first impression! Kimberly was my nail tech and helped me settle on the perfect pedi for me: the Swedish massage. Oh, it was heavenly! It was so relaxing I almost fell asleep. Horrible quality!! Had a gel manicure and in less than 2 days the polish completed flaked, fell off 3 nails. Literally came off in one piece on each of 3 different nails. The quality of the work was poor to start with as there were gaps between the polish and the cuticle on 3 separate fingers. The polish wad smeared, not smooth and even after getting outside in natural lighting. I would never go back. The girl clearly had no idea what she was doing. Even though my pedicure was great I am really disappointed with my nails. I have been to this establishment before but today who I believe are the managers where extremely rude and wanted to argue with me. I went in for a fill. Just a regular acrylic fill the nails I had previously lasted me 4 weeks they kept asking what kind of nails I said acrylic fill they kept trying to push for me to get dip powder or whatever & I refuse. I simply refuse to dip my fingers continuously in a powder 1000 other people. She asked me what I wanted I showed her my nails I said I want same nude I have with a design she said okay okay I'll get it for you never specified a color while I was getting my pedicure the girl came with what I believe was acrylic which clearly wasn't the minute she placed a bead on my nail it was clumpy she even used the blue light when you clearly don't use blue light for acrylic long story short the color and design was so ugly my nail tech clearly couldn't do fill they are so used to dipping clients nails into nasty dipping powder that they do not know how to do traditional fills or use acrylic. She asked me if I liked nails I informed her know she kept blaming the different color of acrylics which I did not pick she finally took that horrible design off and said I'll paint over for you well when I went to to pay they charged me extra for nail polish when clearly the only reason she had to put the color on top of my nails was because she couldn't get my nails to look right. She lady manager continued to argue with me and the gentlemen said it's okay it's okay completely ignoring what I was telling him about my nails. I'm going to go again today and have them take these nails off & hopefully redo them. These are the worst nails I have ever gotten my whole life. The technician cracked the nail bed of my large toenail and cut another toe. Wow, silly me trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and continue with the service until the second technician cut down my fingernails too short after I asked him not to. Enough is enough. As far as I could tell all of the management treated the nail techs respectfully, not rushing them (or me). I got a gel mani and the spa pedi.
