This place is good for a quick, last minute wax or cleanup. I wish I hadn't prepurchased so many sessions though. I've had great experiences so far with staff, but I've experienced a lot of breakage and ingrown hair in my bikini area that I've never had in my 10 years of receiving service elsewhere. I started coming here because I moved out of Chicago and this place is 5 minutes from my home. Curious, I went back to my old spot for my last wax and the girl noticed right away. But I'm stuck here until I've used up my prepaid services. It's also more expensive than anywhere else I've gone. Everyone else's Brazilian includes the butt strip and the occasional lower stomach if needed. Here, both cost extra and are considered separate services. read more

Very sleek clean new waxing salon. Private rooms, black chandeliers and overall modern vibe. Stopped in for an eyebrow wax without an appointment and was in a room 3 minutes later. Fast! Emily explained the 4 step process and it was a quick and almost painless eyebrow wax! I like that they lean towards using products with essential oils like lavender and jojoba. The wax is a hard wax and its a pretty gentle but effective formula. Last step... Some kind of soothing lotion. My brows were just a tiny bit pink... Almost normal though. I would definitely go back to Emily. My brows look great! Brow wax is $18. A bit steep. I would be more comfortable in the $12 to $15 range for brows. Bikini wax starts at $33. They do arms, back, legs, etc... Minus one star for the frigid temps. 67 degrees in the waxing room was a bit chilly for my taste. read more

I was hesitant as I didn't know anyone that has went to the ELmhurst location or were not familiar with any of the specialist. I've been alternating between waxing and shaving over the last 20 years. My last 2 experiences of Brazilian waxing was horrible at other facilities. From the moment you step in the door the staff was pleasant. Everyone wore mask but the front desk area is small so you can do contactless check in. The site was clean! After looking up places near me and reading a lot of reviews I decided to try out EWC. I walked in, was greeted right away, and the lady at the desk got me all set up to get my brows done. I didn't have to wait long which was also a plus! The technician (sorry I can't remember her name!) was so so nice and I could tell she was listening to me explain how I wanted my eyebrows to look! We had good conversation and she would always tell me what she was going to do next which is great especially for first timers! Another big plus is that for the first time EVER after getting my brows done professionally, I didn't break out at all! I'm not sure if this is because of the wax they use, the products they use, or just how I care for them after because I'm used to breaking out but I'm very happy and will definitely be returning! read more

First time wax service is 1/2 off. The prices are very reasonable! Total kudos for that. So Elinor comes out and calls my name, I follow her to the room and she instructs me on what a Brazilian wax is. Now to my understanding a Brazilian wax is EVERYTHING unless you want a landing strip or triangle. Awesome, right? I said everything removed but a triangle. I trusted the aesthetician, that the service was complete. So I buy the serum for after care. I go home and go and check myself out. To my disbelief she had left so much hair. I went through all of that and I ended up having to sit with a mirror and pluck tons of hair! So I had to complete the job and put myself through more pain. I will not be going back. There has to be another location in which there is more attention to detail. Not the best first experience but it's definitely a learning one. ***** I would like to clarify what I mean by "she left so much hair". The labial parting had patches of hair. I had my eyebrows waxed and the lady did a good job, but after I paid and left I had a real bad pain under my eyebrow. I thought it was from just being waxed and sensitive, but a few hours later the pain didn't stop and when I looked in the mirror I noticed a red spot that eventually started to scab the next day. Its a small spot, but the pain is awful. I was visiting from out of town so I didn't have time to go back, but I will be calling. I will NOT RECOMMEND this place. read more

I initially made an appointment with Emily, because of the good reviews on here, but was treated by Iris, who was awesome as well. With the special wax that the center uses, this was seriously the least hurtful Brazilian that I have ever gotten. The techniques are similar to what I experienced in one of the waxing centers in Europe back in the days. Iris explained all the steps she took and all the products she used prior and after the treatment. Because of the oils and baby powder prior to the waxing, there is no residual wax sticking on the skin afterwards at all (WHICH HAPPENED TO ME ALL THE TIME AT A SMALLER BUSINESS I WENT TO AT SCHOOL!) I would definitely go back for another wax either in Elmhurst or any of the other EWCs in the city (if their service is as promising as here). PS: You get 50% off for your first Brazilian. Eyebrow, Underarms and Bikini Waxes are for free I think. read more

I'm a long client of the European Wax Center franchise since when I lived in N.J. and since moving to the Chicagoland area...in the northwest suburbs...I've tried 3 different locations...and have had a bad experience in each one of them...until I came to this location. I have to drive about 40 minutes to get here...but it's worth it. From the courteous front desk that never give me an attitude...and ALWAYS understand if I have to reschedule last minute due to my very busy schedule...to the understanding wax technicians and the icing on the cake is the owner, Karen, I believe her name is. The ease of booking, their first time customer promotion, and the fact that they got all the hairs, makes me give this place 2 stars. I got the lip wax with free underarm was done. She waxed my upper lip 6 times!! I have sensitive skin which I mentioned in the comments during my online booking. Waxing over the same area multiple times caused my skin to rip off in multiple places, similar to other pictures people posted of their brows. I also HAD a skin tack on one of my underarms which the technician ripped off with wax!! I knew something was wrong when that side was burning more than the other side. I know that it's common for skin tacks to be ripped off by waxing, but it was bleeding! If I hadn't gone home immediately and checked, there could have been a possibility of an infection. The technician should have told me immediately what had happened AT THE VERY LEAST if they are not trained to handle wounds. Very unprofessional and will not be going back. read more

This is a new waxing place in Elmhurst. I just got my eyebrows done and it was the best experience I've had. It barely hurt and it was quick and easy. I also didn't come out with big puffy pink eyebrows afterwards which was awesome lol. They didn't use the cloth strips they use like the peel off wax which was nice and different. Great location! The waxers are very nice and professional. The front desk staff is also welcoming. The establishment is clean, always when we are there. We have tried the products they sell and not a big fan of them. They do not give a student discount anymore, that's a shame. I went to this location out of convenience because it was close to work, but I usually go to Glenview to get waxed. I was set up with Tricia who was super nice and very easy going. I trusted she knew what she was doing because of the EWC reputation, but when I got home, I was very irritated and patchy "down there".
