This is my go to spot for waxing. While I live the idea of supporting an independent business, my schedule requires I go somewhere that allows for me to spontaneously get a wax instead of scheduling a week or so before. The app is easy to use to book my appointments and so far, they have never not had same day availability. I've seen just about every provider and they are all competent and, most importantly, fast. There has been a complete change in ownership which has completely improved this locations service! Highly recommend trying them out again if you had a similar experience as me. The staff is friendlier and the store is just less chaotic in general. Booking is also less stressful as I know my appointment won't get cancelled last minute. They also have lots of appointments which is really nice as I sometimes book my appointments a few days before I want to get waxed. She helps to keep you comfortable by sparking up conversation while you're getting your services. Music also plays in the background, which is a nice little distraction as well. I came to this location on 6/10/2024 and walked in at 6:15 pm, and all the lights were off and there was an employee who was in there, and I asked her if I could get a wax and she said, they were closed and I wasn't able to book an appointment because they had closed the computers. I asked her if they were closed, and she said yes, which I thought was strange. I left and went to go book online and then learned, they were supposed to be open until 8:30 PM. They decided to close show early because they felt like it. Customers can't get work done because employees close early. This is company time theft. read more

The Russian lady did a horrible job. I had been growing my eyebrows out for 2+ weeks and she left me with very uneven eyebrows and a missing patch from over tweezing. And didn't clean up the top with wax only tweezed which again she over plucked. Now I'm left with very uneven eyebrows. I'm an avid wax customer at this location but considering going somewhere else. I was scheduled for a 1pm appt & showed up 10 minutes early. I know they are strict so I try my best to never show up late. I checked in & the receptionist told me my waxer was still on lunch but will be coming back by the time my appt started. Another person checked in for the same waxer and was told that another customer (me) was to be called before since she was 15 minutes earlier. I'm thinking okay maybe there's someone that checked in outside in their car. The waxer walks in from her break & I look at my phone, it's 1:02, okay no biggie. 1:06 she walks out and calls the name of the customer that checked in after me. They go back & as I am confused I asked the receptionist if my waxer was going to be ready since it's already 7 minutes past my appt start. Dumbfounded she said, "oh, she took the other girl in first". I don't cause scenes, so I asked if I can reschedule for the next day, & she said they were booked for the day. Checked tomorrow and again booked all day. So she scheduled me for Monday. The frustrating part about it, the receptionist should have been paying attention instead of hiding behind the computer on her phone & told the waxer there was someone prior. She is always a laugh and great to talk to during your service as well!! She also makes sure you understand the aftercare routine and what products she recommends to use to make sure your skin is ready for its next service! I've been getting waxed by Krista by over a year now. She's so great. She's gentle, detail oriented, and really friendly.

Being walking distance from my home, I chose EWC as my wax center of choice, however, this has changed and I am now driving to Sunnyvale because of the following: I made an appointment (first appt of the morning) week of my birthday. Upon arrival, I was told my wax specialist would be late due to car problems earlier in the morning. No problem for me.. it happens, and I was in no rush (it was a weekday and I took the day off). After a few minutes, I asked the receptionist how long the wait would be and offered to come back since i live quite close. She then calls the specialist only to find out that she did not have an eta because she was still having car problems. Here's the problem.. I understand things happen.. but a courtesy call BEFORE my appointment when the car trouble was found would have been nice. Thankfully I live close by, but imagine if I drove from elsewhere and was told I would not be accommodated until the afternoon. If you know a member of the team is going to be late, ask for an eta .. don't let a customer wait only to find out they won't be accommodated until 6+ hours after the original appointment. Customer service is everything to me. A simple call or text would have avoided this situation. Review for service: the quality of the service provided is not the best but not the worst. If I had to rate based on value of service, I would suggest going elsewhere (a more local independent wax studio). Lastly, It's amusing how strict the late policy is for customers but the same expectation is not held from the staff. read more

I've visited this location before after my usual wax specialist at the Coleman branch was unavailable. That initial visit at this location was just okay - my wax specialist was a bit distant and seemed disengaged but ended up doing an okay job. The receptionist on duty was also rather cold. Recently, I tried to visit this location again and booked my appointment ahead of time through the app after my usual location (Coleman) and specialist was booked out. About 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment, I received a call from an unknown number who left a voicemail saying that my appointment with Elyse was cancelled because she was out sick. I completely understand that illness can happen anytime and unexpectedly (especially after the New Year holiday), but I was not impressed with how this was handled, especially after reading the other reviews here who seemed to have experienced cancellations on the day of to an unusual degree of regularity. In the future, if this was to happen again at this location, I would prefer if scheduled appointments could still be offered at the same time reserved but with other specialists who do not have appointments at the same time. read more

European Wax Center has been my go-to place for the past 6 years. Just recently discovered and visited the Milpitas location, and have been there twice at this point! If you've never been to a EWC before, you're guaranteed to meet fun, friendly, and experienced individuals who make the entire process a breeze! I haven't ever walked in since I normally schedule my appointments ahead of time - so I can't confirm if it's purely appointment based, but an appointment is definitely MUCH easier to ensure you get secured a time. EWC's are some of the cleanest places I've ever been to for a wax, with modern, a minimalistic style as soon as you enter. At this location I've received stellar after care recommendations as well as friendly and professional service. One wax treatment is normally around 15 minutes which makes it an easy stop that doesn't take too much time out of the day either! What I appreciated about my waxer was that she was incredibly attentive about temperature, and provided me helpful instructions to reduce or minimize the pain associated with the waxing! Who knew there were tricks to making a wax less painful? From start to finish, I always feel like I'm in the best hands. Their practices surrounding Covid-19 have been so clean thorough, as well as general waxing technique.
