The place is pretty small, which has about six chairs for Hair services and has nail service as well but I think I only saw about good for two people can be serviced at one time for Nails. I was looking for a hairstylist because the hairstylist I went to retired. I had Angie cut my hair. She was not flexible with me. I gave her a picture of the haircut I wanted. She immediately wanted to take off my glasses and I know hairstylists can't cut hair with it on. I told her I know that but needed my glasses to adjust my seat and put my things down. I'm blind without my glasses so I needed them. I told her I won't wear it when she's cutting my hair. But she kept repeating that she needed my glasses off right now. I kept asserting that I know but she needs to be patient. I don't think she understood me. We were quiet for the first ten minutes. I couldn't handle it so I asked her questions. She proceeded to tell me she can't cut hair when people wear their glasses. I was mad that she brought that up again. When she was done and she didn't cut my bangs at all. I told her if she wanted to look at the picture again but she told me she didn't need too. She did explain to me that she didn't want to give me bangs because my cowlick. I wished she explain that in the first place or let me know she couldn't do it. I went home and notice my hair was lopsided. I'm just glad I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it. I had hair almost to my waist all one length and one of the stylists there hacked away at it to oblivion. I have a MULLET now, all my front pieces of hair are all short and choppy. Beware of Angie, as she can be quite unpredictable. Based on my own and others' experiences, I strongly advise against taking a chance with her. Angie uses a powerful bleach that lifts quickly but severely damages your hair. Instead, I recommend paying extra to have your hair professionally done elsewhere. Unfortunately, I suffered significant hair loss and ended up with uneven color after. Despite informing Angie about my hair's condition and history, she neglected to perform a strand test, resulting in an uneven and patchy outcome, with half of my hair gone. Instead of taking responsibility, Angie lacked proper manners, ethics, and honesty. She refused to admit her mistakes and even blamed me for the damage. She went as far as trying to hide the fact that my hair was falling off. I overheard her discussing the unevenness and hair loss with her staff, yet she still insisted on charging me the full price. Fortunately, I demanded at least a partial refund, allowing me to go to a different salon to fix her errors and get extensions. At the end of the day I came home with half my hair/uneven patches and no accountability or apology from the business owner. The least she could've done was apologize to me instead of blaming me for my hair and going off and everything would've been completely fine. Don't let Angie deceive you she acts nice at first but once you confront her she'll go off. read more

Ask for Michelle!! I have been coming to Michelle's for years. She is very welcoming and cares about each of her clients. I still remember the first time I came when I was in high school (so about 10 yrs ago) and she somehow knew right when I sat down how I would want my hair cut without me saying anything. From then on, Michelle has been the only person I trust to cut my hair and most recently she's been the only person I trust to dye it too! So flash forward to today, I finally found the time to come in to have my hair trimmed. It had been 6 months since I last saw Michelle and I hadn't cut my hair or dyed it since then (only used coloring conditioners). My hair definitely needed a good trim but what it really needed was to be dyed again to give my red hair its vibrancy back. I also wanted to have the color higher since my hair grew out a lot. Michelle suggested highlights and was able to find the time to highlight my hair and do a hot oil treatment. When she handed me the mirror to look at my hair at the end of the appointment, I was just so happy! The cut and color came out beautifully and I love that Michelle curled my hair afterwards (she usually does)! Michelle is incredibly talented and I'm so happy I found her all those years ago. Went for haircut but decided to get hair color as well with Lynn. Haircut- no problem. The big problem is the hair color: I showed her the picture and told her I want ashy brown. She CONFIDENTLY said yes I can do that. i will bleach your hair to tone down and will give that ashy color. She only bleach some hair (the top one and the sides, but not inside) to reduce the hair damage (that's what she said). So i expect the bleached hair one should be ashy brown as in the picture that I showed. I told her that I really want the ashy brown like in the picture and she assured me to not worry. During the process of dying the hair: the chemical smell is very very strong that it stings my eyes and it's hard to breathe (even though I already wore mask). The color turns out to be just brown... no ash, nothing. Then I told her that this is brown, not ash. And She kept saying this is the color. BEWARE of ANGIE. She became the new owner of Lynn's Hair Design and kept the name, but she does NOT deserve the quality, reputation, and customer base that Lynn built for her salon. I hope Lynn reads this review one day and sees what happened to the business she retired from. At first, Angie is sweet, charming, and accommodating to all your needs. Angie worked on my hair for a few years since Lynn retired and Angie became the new owner. I was happy with my haircut and highlights, and even brought my son and daughter to her to have her cut their hair. However, she did burn a patch on my hair at one time, when she placed me under the dryer too long and the temperature literally burned my scalp. The hair in that area broke off when I shampooed after a highlight job. More recently, I was unhappy with my haircut, and after I went back to her salon to request for her to fix it because it was not the shape or length I requested, she became defensive, combative, and rude. She started yelling in front of her own customers and kept insisting my hair was not choppy although it felt and looked that way to me. But instead of causing a bigger scene and preventing more drama, I walked out of her salon. My niece whom I recommended to her for highlights reminded me that she did not do what she asked her either. My niece drove from Sacramento only to leave disappointed and crying that evening. I let a few weeks pass before I went back to her salon and approached her in a calm, kind, and respectful manner, and I even apologized for having walked out on her and explained I did NOT want to cause a scene in front of her customers. She just said she already forgot because it happens all the time. I was thinking, "Wow, it does. I wonder why? Another red flag?" When I asked her if she would fix my hair, she refused and said we see things differently. I asked her if she really wanted to lose my business along with others I've recommended, and she arrogantly said she wouldn't work on my hair. I just thanked her and bid her good luck - because she'll need it. It was a blessing in disguise for her to (lose me) as a loyal customer because I found an even better hairdresser since, who ended up fixing the damage she did on my hair. I rarely share any Yelp reviews, and this is my first "unhappy" review for any business. I tried to make amends, but she refused it with too much pride to her detriment. I hate that I have to write this review because I really do love this place. Angie always does my hair and does an excellent job. However, when my sister and I did walk in haircuts, she got a different hairdresser who I've never met before. She took 3x as long on my sister's simple haircut than Angie did on my complicated layers. And the end result was horrible. She completely butchered her hair! I honestly think I could've done a better job at home with some kitchen scissors. It was so uneven and she left some long strands! and didn't even blow dry the bits of hairs left on her face and mask. Came here on a recommendation from my sister, and I wasn't disappointed! I called and asked if I could walk in for a haircut. I showed her what i wanted and she jus said "ok ill try my best" i shower her multiple photos and she jus proceeded to make me stop talking and showing her the pictures. This spot has always had a special place in my heart. I was devastated when I found out the original owner, Lynn, had retired. She was my go to hair stylist since I was in grade school. After constantly looking for a new hairstylist over the years, I'm finally set with this place once again. The new owner Angie does an excellent job. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I had asked for an asymmetrical bob and showed her a picture and she matched it pretty well. I had my boyfriend come in the same time too and she also cut his hair amazing! We are definitely going to become regulars for her. For the both of us she only charged us $35, which is a steal because the places I've been trying out would charge me $50+ just for a women's haircut. You can't beat the quality and price here. Do not come here for an upper lip wax hair removal. Yes, the price is cheap - I was charged $5 for what appears to be a very simple exercise. However, the outcome of the upper lip wax was a burnt upper lip, that resulted in significant redness the following day and and scabbing. Not pretty to look at at all. For the past two days, I have been relieving the pain/scabbing on the upperlip with Neosporin and burn gel ointment. I am never coming here again for a wax of any kind. The wax that they use is hot, and if not used carefully, will burn you. Please do exercise disgression when performing this exercise on your next victims. read more
