We used to love Eva's but unfortunately the quality has tanked. Stopped by yesterday to grab some cupcakes and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. ALL of the cupcakes we got were SO DRY (almost stale) and the icing was inedible it was so sweet Definitely NOT the Eva's Cupcakery we have been going to for the past few years. Sad. read more

The shop atmosphere is very cute and clean. Upon entering we were greeted with warms smiles. The cupcakes we purchased the first time tasted great! We ordered the funfetti for my 3 year old, German Chocolate and carrot. The second time we went my 3 year old ordered the pink lemon aid because the appearance of it was very cute, however she said it did not taste good and was not happy with her choice. I however got the chocolate with raspberry filling and it was divine! I do have a slight complaint both times I went in looking for Gluten free cupcakes for my sister and they were out both times. Both times they assured me that they usually do have them. I have yet to see them though. As a previous reviewer mentioned they are a little steep at $4 per cupcake, however it is Alaska and they do taste wonderful. read more

Ms. Eva has ME liking carrot cake!!! Whaaat?! I hosted a baby shower for two mother's-to-be and they chose carrot cake. All the staff there and Ms. Eva were very helpful, accommodating, and excellent with details. I have never been a fan of carrot cake but hers was AMAZING!! Everyone loved it! It was beautifully decorated as well. Ms. Eva also gives a military discount as a veteran herself, serving our country for 21 years!!! I recommend this business to everyone. I just found out about this place today! How? They came to the school I work at, and gave the entire faculty free cupcakes and coffee for teacher/educator week! It all might have been free this time (and VERY much appreciated), but I think they may have started a trend. We are all hooked! I was really excited to see a cupcakery on this side of town. The place is nice and clean. The owners and workers were great. The problem I have is simple. The cupcakes just are not very good. The frosting is ok, but the cupcakes themselves are extremely dense and gummy. I went back a second time a few weeks later in hopes they were just having an off day. Nope, same thing. So ya...I'm a little disappointed. I so wanted to love this place. I bought two cupcakes today, a confetti one which was yellow cake with confetti,and a blue buttercream frosting, and a yellow lemonade cupcake, that had a very small amount of lemon filling in it, and a pink lemonade type buttercream. I've eaten some pretty great cupcakes all over the world, and grew up with a mom who is a fabulous baker, and makes everything from scratch. So the first thing that matters to me in a cupcake is that the cake doesn't taste fake, and like a bunch of chemicals. It should be moist, and almost melt in your mouth. Eva's did pass the not fake test. It was definitely not a mix, or loaded with a bunch of junk. The flavor itself was good on both, and the lemonade frosting I really liked, the blue frosting, tasted strongly of food coloring which I can't stand so I just scraped it all off. In my opinion cupcakes should be the perfect combo. Delicious, moist cake, with creamy delicious buttercream frosting. You should be able to eat either part and consider them both to be delicious on their own, but then when combined you get an even more fabulous taste sensation. I couldn't say that about Eva's cupcakes. They were good, but far from great, and while the cupcake itself was tasty, and not artificial, it was VERY dry. I felt like I was eating cupcakes that were a few days old. I couldn't eat just the cake itself without the frosting as I couldn't swallow it, it got stuck in my throat. I think they have really great potential (if the cupcake itself was reworked to be less dry, and the buttercream just a bit more buttery)....at $4.00 a piece though these were just not acceptable to me. :( read more

Ordered a Birthday Cake that was to serve 10 people for a 16 year olds birthday. What we got was a toddler cake the size you let your 1 year olds play with on their first birthday. It was a soft pink with white icing. When I asked why it was so small, I was told the serving size was 1 inch by 1 inch? Fooled once, sorry, lost my business!!! read more

I just ordered a dozen cupcakes for my friends birthday. When I called I was looking for a chocolate cupcake. And the woman I spoke with suggested a chocolate cake with a salted caramel filling and a cream cheese frosting. Let's not forget the caramel drizzle on top. Literally the best cupcake I've ever had. The only cupcake I have found to be utterly delicious is the chocolate cupcake. It is so moist and decadent. Whenever I come here, I order that one for myself. I've tried a couple others, but they aren't nearly as tasty as the chocolate one. I've had the S'Mores, funfetti, and cookies & cream. All of which are dry and crumbly. I don't understand how one cupcake can be so moist each and every time, but the others dry? I'm not opposed to coming back and trying new cupcakes, I just wish they could all be moist. read more

We have driven across town a few times to grab cupcakes. Have always had pleasant interactions with the staff, particularly Eva. I have tried all three gluten free flavors (carrot, choc, and vanilla) and the carrot cake was the best! They are very liberal with the frosting, I often have to remove some, but a lot is better then not enough. The only thing I wish is that the GF were at room temp, they always seem cold when I get them, but that is just a personal preference. The gf doesn't taste any different to me then normal cupcakes, the texture is dead on. Give them a try!! He rest of my family has enjoyed all the other flavors they have tried as well. read more

When I visit a bakery or restaurant the first thing I do is inspect for cleanliness. Eva's CupCakery was neat and well kept with no standing dust on the counters or glass. The one bakery staff member (I assume is Eva) greeted me the minute I opened the door. I asked if she had any Gluten Free cupcakes and she did. I bought two GF cupcakes and one regular chocolate peanut butter cupcake. When it came time to pay, I handed her my USAA Debit card. She looked at the card and asked if I was in the military. I said yes and pulled out my CAC for her to see. Being able to recognize the connection of USAA and the military is a plus for me. Not many people take the time to do that and just swipe away. She gave me a discount and instead of just leaving the cupcakes on the counter for me to take, she walks around the counter and personally handed me, my cupcakes. I was very humbled by her meaningful gestures and felt like giving her a hug. The cupcakes were delicious, however, the frosting was like eating a sweet little heaven. :) read more

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. Eva's Cupcakery is wonderful!! I've ordered cakes, cupcakes (reg and mini) for over 2 years now and I've always had wonderful service. The first time I ordered a cake I was surprised by how much larger it was than what was explained when I ordered. I ordered a 2-layer cake for 15 people. It was huge and it was actually 4- layers. The customer service is wonderful and the ladies there go out of their way to make sure that you receive your "vision" for your order. The atmosphere is calming and inviting if you want to sit and savor your cupcake in house. read more

I'm visiting here from California and we came here because we heard great reviews. Well, I'm sorry, but these cupcakes were terrible. We purchased a dozen in varied flavors. They were decorated very nicely, but looks are deceiving. After dinner we all had one and they were extremely dry with no taste whatsoever. The frosting were ok, but the cakes themselves were heavy and dry. And for a price of $42.00 per dozen, I expected heavenly taste. Visited this place only "once". Floor and tables were very dirty. We were not acknowledged when we walked through the door. Approached the counter and looked at a few cupcakes. The"people" behind the counter towards the kitchen, were flapping their traps and briefly looked over at us like "what do you want"?! Didn't say a word. Their body language was very clear. I was disappointed with my first visit to Eva's Cupcakery. Looking forward to an afternoon pick me up that didn't happen. Walken in- no one came from the back for a few minutes, no acknowledgement even though there's a bell on the door. So studied cupcakes, decided on the lemon and strawberry. My husband ordered strawberry Italian soda, no strawberry syrup. Ok, but they didn't even have a regular cup of coffee. How do you have a dessert shop with no coffee? So took my cupcakes to go. A group of friends and I enjoyed cupcakes, coffee, and conversation yesterday at Eva's CupCakery, and most of us had never been there before. It was delightful! The cupcakes were delicious and filled with unusual rich flavors. Everyone insisted the cupcake they ordered was surely the most delicious one! The shop is small but warm and welcoming. Every time I have been there I have received fresh and moist cupcakes, even towards the end of the day. My husband loves the sweet potato cupcakes (I know it sounds weird, but seriously give it a shot!) and my favorite is the hummingbird cake. I also like the Elvis, the strawberry, the carrot, and the snickers cupcakes! The reason why I have given them 4 stars is because the pricing. $4 for 1 average sized cupcake is really quite steep. I usually get the 4 pack for $15, but that's only saving you $1. Not really a deal, in my opinion, but I like the cupcakes so I'll pay it every few months when I get a sweet tooth. Another reason is because I can't say I've had that positive upbeat customer service I kind of expect from a fun place like a cupcake shop. No one has ever been rude or unpleasant, but it's just not as happy as I like to see. I would like to see the attitudes match the cute pink walls and yummy cupcakes.
